    It works well for the price I bought the closed style to hook up wire to my Yamaha receiver. These work great if you only use about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of stripped wire. I recommend the closed connector if connecting to your amp and the others for your speakers if you want the wire to hang straight down and not be as obvious. Either way is fine and will be strong if you take your time. These are a good buy compared to what the big box stores sell them for. 5Great product! Very easy to use and work great on my new a/v receiver from Yamaha. The product quality is excellent and they come individually packaged (per two). Easy to assemble the speaker cable into the clips, but honestly if you're not totally experienced like me, I would have liked directions to be sure I understood how to install the wire into the clip. I ended up using YouTube (who doesn't right?) to help me out and the clips work great.TIP: After unscrewing the clip to give you two pieces, you simply need to expose about 1/2 inch of the copper wire, 'twirl' the wire to insert it into the end of the clip, 'fan' the wire out over the end of the clip before screwing it back together. Be careful not to fan out too much of the wire, or it will not screw together easily. You need to fan the wire out in order for the wire to be gripped by the banana clip so the wire won't pull out easily.Just use YouTube if that doesn't help you out!! 4And these are great and a great price I will never hook up speakers without ' plugs ever again. And these are great and a great price. The look is so much cleaner in the back of my receiver. Highly recommend. 5I love these things All these years I waited to finally get banana plugs, I don't know why I waited so long. These are very well built, they fit into my speaker terminals snugly, and putting the wire into them was fairly simple. The look great, and they don't stick out so much as to worry me that they'd break the terminals due to getting snagged while I'm fiddling behind my equipment. I suspect these should last the rest of my life, especially considering how long I waited to finally get them. If you're like me, and always rearranging equipment, moving speakers around, running new wires, etc., you'll soon learn the value of having banana clips instead of dealing with bare wire in 5 way binding posts. They will save you lots of time and neck pain while leaning over trying to screw in bare wire for 7 or more speakers. 5Very nice banana plugs! Easy to install and work very well. I really like these banana clips. They are very easy to install and it makes for a much cleaner installation that just stripping and twisting and trying to insert it in the clips on the back of speakers and amps.The first thing to remember is you don't have to strip of much at all when connecting these to speaker wire. Just a little bit like a quarter inch will do.To install you unscrew the bottom of the plug and poke wire through. Then strip wire and fold over outside of threads and screw back together. I like to give the wire a little tug to make sure you got a good connection. Make sure you don't have any wire on the actual threads but just up to the edge.I hope this review was helpful. 5Greaat Product!! All I can say is AWESOME! I read one negative review that was just bunk. It didn't take me long to install these banana clips. I've added three photos showing how to connect them to speaker wires. In the first photo I stripped about 1/8" off the end of the speaker wire. Photo two shows how far down the wire strands should be. NOTE: the strands should be above the threads, NOT in them. The third photo shows how the strands should look when they are folded over. Firmly push the banana clip down until it connects with the threads. Once there it is easy to screw it in place. I used 14 gauge speaker wire and it did not pull out of the plugs when installed. I didn't try 12 gauge speaker wire but it may work as well. 5Very nice product, excellent! They work fantastically well with 12 AWG cable, they are perfect.Strip your cable to leave enough length, with a 12 AWG you can get the jacket inside the Cable Matters banana plug, you may have to work it but it will go in making everything that much more solid.Tip 1: As others have noted, the wire should be set to not touch the threads.Tip 2: My cable was seamed together as most are and when you split them it is obvious that the one side keeps that slight bit of 'extra jacket' .... so that was always the side that had to be 'worked into the plug'. A handy razor then solved the issue all together. You only need to remove a few mm of that 'extra jacket'.One star deduction for the sneaky packaging of '7 Pairs' .... I truly wish I had that last pair! 4Great Quality. Easy and clean setup. Quick video to show product detail and installation on speaker wire. These plugs make for a clean professional look. Install shown with 14AWG speaker wire. The product did not ship with instructions so I thought this may be helpful. 5These are the best I have ever used These are, hands down the best banana plugs I have ever used. And the cost is minimal. I have usually bought those plastic banana plugs with the tiny screw inside. For the same quantity there were about the same price. Usually some of them other brand I bought arrived broken or missing the set screw and the overall feel was cheap. I think at the time I bought them I was not aware of Cable Matters. I'm glad I found them.I bought these for a new 7.2 home entertainment receiver that has unusually close and hard to use screw terminals for the speakers. That's 14 terminals that are almost impossible to get my fingers around and insert the wires into the almost invisible holes.These plugs are solid and rugged and the way the wire attaches is sheer brilliance. You insert the wire into the detachable handle, bend about 1/8" of the wire over the inner part of the case, then screw the front piece on. After doing so I tugged as hard as I could and the wire WOULD NOT COME OUT. Being individual color-coded plugs I had no problem plugging in to the 14 terminals (for the 7 speakers) of my new receiver which uses a slightly odd spacing between left and right channels compared to my old receiver.I can find no fault with these plugs, they are a great value at their selling price and 100% of them arrived perfectly (the first time a set of banana plugs haven't had some sort of defect). That deserves a 5-star rating. 5Quality Not Often Seen At This Price Best for the money I have seen. I don't mean they're good for the price. I mean they are good. Period. The price is right, and the quality is as good as some which are more expensive. In fact, you can pay more for lesser quality.There are, of course, better and more expensive plugs than these - not denying that. But some that are priced higher are not as good as these. Great value here. 5
