    Perfecto.....but I plug in my coffee maker and electric kettle, my husband's morning station where he also needs to charge his phone. He also doesn't like to stumble into the kitchen when it's dark so this with its night light works perfectly! You can place a smart phone on top of it while charging...nice!I can stop using the pilot light on the stove now, I felt it might be too bright and bother our sleeping dog.The screw keeps it on nice and tight, so it won't pull out the whole unit if you pulled on one of the plugs. Comes with two usb charging cords, two different lengths... I'm sold!I just hope it will protect my units.Edit: 7/28/17This thing emits a piercing sound... and if you're sensitive to high frequency sounds you will notice it when you get close. It disappears when you plug the usb cable to a phone to charge it but you can hear it again when you unplug...UGH!! 3Everything but the kitchen sink! Wow this thing is cool! Lets see its a surge protector, AC line cleaner AND also has 2 chargeable USB ports? Whaaaat? Equals awesome! The trick soft glow green LED night light is icing on the cake! Other reviewers (I read them all btw) stated it was too bright but I seriously disagree IMHO as it is just right as you can see in my pic albeit not in total darkness. This item ships with 2 center screws of different sized so you can mount it to your box. Just remove the existing center screw on your all outlet and use the provided longer one = easy and stable. What really shocked me (pardon the pun) was that this item also comes with not one but TWO mini USB to standard USB connector cords. One is longer than the other. These can be used to charge up your devices as needed. This is a grounded receptacle for added protection. And if there is a fault in your connected wiring to it, it will tell you also! Sits right next to my bed. Very convenient for usb charging cables with its 2 usb outlets. Its 4 in. wide, 5.5 in. tall, and sticks out about an inch. I've read comments from it making a good night light, to it being overbaring in areas you do not want light.I do rely on the customer comment, but sometimes I have to sit back and laugh. For example: One time I purchased a reputable portable air compressor from here. Some individuals were complaining of it being too loud. It's an air compressor! What do you expect? Installed in my bedroom to accommodate a couple of lamps and chargers in a spot with too few available outlets. I like that it consolidates all those plugs and cords. What I DON'T like is that crazy light strip all along the top of it. In another room, it could serve as a night light, but in my bedroom, it's like a neon flashlight in the middle of the night! Electrical tape didn't stick, and acrylic paint didn't kill it because it still glows under the white plastic housing, but at least it's a light level I can deal with. While I appreciate an indicator that the surge suppressor is working, this is too much. But I like the device well enough to order anther for a different room. 52 USB ports and 6 plugs, what more to ask for? I have this plugged into my kitchen outlet and use it for the numerous appliances we use. I find the two USB ports really convenient to charge my phone. I don't know why a reviewer claimed the green LED on top of the unit is too bright, they must have really sensitive eyes or something. It's not even bright enough to be a night light either. It's very subtle. I actually really like it. 5Useful Outlet For Those With Many Wall Adapters The "Cable Matters 6-Outlet Wall Mount Surge Protector with 2.4A Dual USB Charging" ([UL Listed] Cable Matters 6-Outlet Wall Mount Surge Protector with 2.4A Dual USB Charging (Updated Version with Dimmed LED Light)) turned out to be an excellent product for the kitchen. There is now an area where all the visitors can use and charge six devices in one place. We now have free outlets again for our kitchen appliances! Each USB port was measured to output 4.998V@1.154A so the advertised total current of 2.4A was accurate. The six outlets are protected with thermally-protected surge protectors. There is a green light pipe to on top of the unit to indicate that the surge protectors are operating. Its makes a nice low light level night light. Even more impressive is the internal EMI filter which help block noise from all these wall warts from going out onto the power line. A 15A EMI filter is not an easy function to incorporate especially into a small gang outlet. Even though it only makes electrical connection to the top outlet with the bottom outlet serving as a stabilizer, the 15A current draw from a single outlet should be well within the safety margin of most household NEMA 5-15 sockets. With 6 outlets and 2 USB charging ports, it should be possible to charge 8 devices but the odd shapes of most USB wall warts means that 5-6 USB devices is the practical limit. A long mounting screw is included with the unit and should be used to secure it to the wall. Only the screw needs to be replaced as the wall plate will not interfere with its installation. I waited on giving this review until I had some data so I hope this helps answer someone's question. 5Solid product that works as expected Discussing the brightness of the green LED is kind of a fool's errand, since everyone has their own personal sensitivity to light levels when they're sleeping. I like as little light as possible when I sleep, so I did find the green LED on this thing pretty annoying. I covered the top with a bunch of black electrical tape and that solved the problem for me, though it would have been nice to be able to just turn the LED off.Other than this issue, I think it's a great product. It works as expected and I've had no problems so far.I don't knock this product for it, but in this day and age when the number of gadgets we have at home seems to multiply exponentially, I wish all manufacturers would include an option to disable status LEDs on their products. That way, those that like them can keep them on, and those of us that find them annoying and unnecessary can turn them off. 4I prefer this to the Belkin, but WOW on the green light Being the nerd I am, standard two-outlet wall plates are practically useless to me. So I have been ordering lots of the popular Belkin 6-Outlet wall surge protectors. Those are great and I have no complaints, but I noticed this one and figured it would be worth a try since it costs less and still has great reviews.I'm pretty sure I won't be buying anymore of the Belkins after using this. Both have 6 outlets and 2 USB, so functionally they aren't much different. But this one looks a little nicer and has a higher quality look to it, and is MUCH cheaper. Depending on the outlet location, sometimes I prefer the USB outlets on top (Belkin), while sometimes I prefer them on the front (this one), so USB location is a wash.This goes on top of your wall outlet with a screw through the middle, so make sure yours is the kind with the screw right in the center of the plate. You will need to remove the screw and use the one included with this. You do not need to actually remove the outlet wall plate, just the screw.Only your top outlet on the wall is actually electrically connected to this unit, the bottom only connects non-electrically for added stability.One big negative that I tried to showcase in the attached images is the green "protected" light on top. All it needs is a teeny, tiny, LED indicator. Instead, you get a full-on nightlight with no way to turn it off. So for main living areas and bedrooms, I would not recommend this based on the light alone. For a kitchen, behind furniture, hallways, etc., this is not an issue and I highly recommend it.*Summary*Pros:[+] Nice look and feel, high quality[+] 2 USB ports to make it easier to charge all your devices[+] 2.4 amps is plenty to charge most any phone/tablet[+] Easy to install/setupCons:[-] Green "protected" light turns this into a de facto nightlight - WAY too bright. 5BEWARE!! Started Electrical Fire the worst thing about this product is the seller is NOT trustworthy, terrible customer service and REFUSES TO REFUND MY PURCHASE PRICE or replace my brand new laptop. this horrible thing sparked super loud and caught fire melted into my wall outlet and BURNED my laptop. i had the fire inspector check my wiring...no problem. had an electrician come in and repair the wiring/outlet...again no problem. through the outlet & this melted mess in the garbage. seller blamed my laptop charger, said he wouldnt refund $$ or my laptop unless i wheeled myself, yes im wheelchair bound, to the recycling center... dig through all that trash to get a picture of his melted-defective product. & mail it back to him for his review. i have my report from the fire chief & electrician... and the final straw is when he point blank told me "why didnt you save the product?" i mean "REALLY"? 1
