    Hefty Cable, Bargain Price Item # B0000X0VCY M/M Dual Link Digital Video Cable (Cables to Go)Note: when using Digital Video Interface, the monitor doesn't actually detect the video signal until Windows delivers the `welcome' screen. So, if you need to switch the bios settings to onboard VGA vs PCI display (onboard VGA is NOT the default) be forewarned that there won't be a PCI signal from your graphics card until the back-up on-board VGA is enabled so you can still switch plugs and access your bios in the event of an emergency.My efforts to rebuild a computer which was the victim of a failed hard drive, were centered around the purchase of a new graphics processor unit (GPU) PCI card. The OS (operating system) was also outdated, and since the Windows versions since XP have each included a support feature for multiple monitors/displays, my graphics card also featured three types of interface jacks.The one which resembles a PS/2 mouse plug is unused. But the standard VGA (blue) jack is also present. Also included was an adapter for converting a VGA line to a DVI plug-in. And the third interface is an actual DVI (digital video interface) jack. So you could potentially install two VGA plug-in monitors, or two DVI type monitors, to the one graphics card.This DVI cable is approximately twice the thickness/gage of the VGA connector wire which was included with the new monitor. And while the packing insert stipulated a DVI cable was to be included, I didn't receive one. Contemporary computers tend to be very capable of processing digital video, and my monitor includes both DVI and VGA jacks. The DVI is preferred to enjoy the optimal performance of a flat-screen monitor. 5Works well I was doing an annual "clean everything up" inside & outside the computer and I realized I was only using a single-link cable instead of a dual-link, so my graphics card was being bottlenecked at the cable. Switched to these (bought two for future use) and they are very satisfactory 5Cheap Price, High QualityI got the shortest version of this cable you could get. I think it was 1 meter or a little over 3 feet. its a good cable. Its really thick gauge cable and has some insulators that other cables don't have. plug & play and she works. I switched from VGA to DVI-D and it looks nicer. You won't plug it in and notice a 100% difference or anything but text is clearer and the overall picture seems to look better. I use this cable to plug a galaxy tech geforce GT610 to a HP W2072a 20" monitor and it works perfect for that. If you're using VGA and have a DVI input on your computer/monitor well stop using VGA and get this cable. You won't find this cable in stores for a cheaper price unless you live in a bigger city, I live in a small town so online is the way to go.5Better than the Dell originalsAlthough these look like my Dell originals the cable is thicker and they connect woth a nice tight fit. 5 stars becasue they are better than the Dell provided cables!5Don't Spend More STOP. A search on Amazon for a USB cable yields a $10-$15 price. Just plain horrible and wrong that someone would charge 4x as much as is reasonable for a cable.I came online and found Cables to Go with a $10 price for a DVI cable. Construction quality is fantastic and better than the $45 cable I returned to the superstore .... better yet, this 1/4 the price of the electronic's superstore "brand name" cable.Frankly, I will ONLY buy cables from cables to go. My wife got me a new Dell HD monitor for Fathers Day and I saw it had a DVI input (though it came supplied with a standard VGA cable). Honestly, I have done zero research and have no idea what the difference is supposed to be, or what you are supposed to get, but I ordered this cable because I wanted to get the most out of my new monitor.As soon as I hooked the cable up, my mac mini detected the monitor type and adjusted the resolution settings for the monitor. Looks great! Although, the text size is really tiny but I know that can be adjusted...I only gave this a four star review, because, well, it's a cable, it does what it does. As I was doing this it occurred to me that I was still using a DVI to VGA converter from my video card and running an old-school VGA cable to my monitor. Because I felt silly using state of the art technology for color calibration while not using the same for my video connection. I looked around and found this cable on Amazon and ordered it.The cord comes packaged in a printed plastic zip-lock style bag. There are no instructions or documentation that come with it. Some people might find this odd, but you really don't need any documentation. It is a cable; you plug it in and screw down the connectors.The cable does its job. I have noticed that fine details are sharper and more clear. It is not mind-blowing, but it is better than VGA.The construction of the cable seems nice as well. It seems very sturdy. I know another reviewer said it was flimsy and another said the contacts were all bent, but this was not my case. The shielding is robust and the cable head seems well constructed. The connector pins were all in good condition. The screw connectors were made well and easy to use.For most people this will be a great cable. The length of this cable is about six feet so you are only running this cable from your computer to your monitor. This means the cable does not need to be "gold-plated" or "double insulated" or any of the other "sales terms" used by companies like Monster and Best Buy (Geek Squad).My recommendation is you save yourself $50 or more and buy this cable rather than getting charged quite a bit more for essentially the same product in different packaging at one of the retail chains.Overall, I would definitely purchase this again.-Cheers! 5Good, Value-Priced DVI-D CableI bought this cable to use with my MacBook Pro connected to a ViewSonic 24" monitor via the DVI to Lightning adapter. Works great for my monitor's size and resolution and no problems with the fit, form, and finish of the cable itself.Sure beats $50 + for a cable from the local retailers I looked in to!5Works great To confirm what others have been reporting here for years, this cable works just as well as the very expensive ones you'll find at brick and mortars, and for a small fraction of the price.Back in the days where all signals were passed along analog cables, there was indeed somewhat of a difference in the quality of the image or sound received at the far end of the cable, especially on a long run of cable.Digital is another story, but the cable making companies don't want you to know that ... it would destroy their cash cow. $10 DVI cables deliver just as well at $70 ones. $3 HDMI cables do exactly the same job as $50 ones. So don't be fooled. The cables are passing data, not signal. If all the data reaches the far end, you're going to get it from your viewing/listening device. And as long as there isn't a defect in the cable, all the data WILL reach the far end.Why am I getting a DVI cable at this late date? Well, I bought a 28" Viewsonic monitor for $250, which is a great deal in itself. It only had VGA and DVI inputs. I got a video card with both outputs, and I'm driving a dual monitor set up out of the one card. To buy a monitor with HDMI would have cost another $100, and it would have had the same performance. HDMI is not superior to DVI, its just a smaller connection ... plus it also carries sound. Since my monitor doesn't have speakers, that isn't an issue.I've used this cable for seven years now without a problem.Highly recommended cable as a good value. 5does what it says, easy 5 stars System:FX 6300R9 270cheap gateway flatscreen as second monitorI use this cable for my second screen which is mostly used for watching TV while playing casual games, for monitoring system while playing more intense games, and for managing streaming and system while gaming as well. The cable is pretty stiff but not so much as yto worry about it breaking while moving things around, which is the perfect balance for me since i do move things around a lot. The plugs fit firmly, screw in properly and snug. I am not a picture quality enthusiast but it is a cheap cable that provides clean signal to a cheap screen, so it had a lowq bar for a 5 star rating and got it. 5Yup those are cablesA bit too short for my purposes but that was my fault for not getting the longer ones. Although it actually is the perfect length to my PC I feel like it should have a bit more slack, but oh well. The monitor I have hooked up with this cable is working and that's all I can ask for.5Great cables at a great price These are the best cables of their type, I believe. Prices vary and this is a great price. I got two 5 meter cables and one 3 meter cable. I connected my 4-monitor system up using these cables, for the furthest 3 monitors. The construction quality of the cables is outstanding, and they're very thick and with the full set of DVI-D prongs. Again, I don't think there is anything better in this category.The monitors I connected to my PC: ViewSonic VX2250WM-LED 22-Inch (21.5-Inch Vis) Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED Monitor with Integrated Stereo Speakers. These monitors are a great deal too, with fantastic picture and low quality sound to be honest.The high-quality graphics card I used for my 4-monitor system: Nvidia Quadro Nvs 450 PCIE16 512MB GDDR3 4PORT To Dvi Cable.Things work out well when you get your longer cables ahead of time, otherwise you might run out to the local store for convenience and pay a lot more. 5Working well!Using with Mac Mini (2013) using Apple's HDMI to DVI adapter including with the computer. It attaches to a Dell 23" display which require smaller connector cables than normal. These are just small enough.4DVI cables are a dime a dozen nowadays... Most "free" DVI cables are useable, but after a while of use, they deteriorate (see that hue coming through?). And when I moved 900 miles away from my stash of superb, bought cables, as a beggar I was given some really "bad" oem cables when I forgot to bring my cables with me. I bought four of these cables to connect the LCD monitors. Upon arrival, I was happy to see a quality, sturdy construction, with solid connectors. Hooking the cables up (nice tight fit on both sides) and then firing up the workstation... Finally, a stable image and NO artifacts. I'm happy again. And after several connects and disconnects, all is still good and rock solid.The four cables I got were good, without any problems.
