One and done --> off to the landfillWhen I first received my Blitzu Headlamp I thought it heavier than the Petzl it replaced. OK it was inexpensive so I would deal with that. First cold run of the season I had it on over my knit hat, and pulled my hat off. The Blitzu hit the hardwood floor (about 6' drop) and broke. The plastic battery keeper clip broke - no problem a little tape can fix that. Then I saw the plastic nubs on the lamp holder clip on the headband also broke. Now it's a lot of tape to attach it to the headband, ask Blitzu for a new headband clip or off to the landfill.1Good, economical headlamp We keep a headlamp in the car for emergencies. We didn't want to buy an expensive one like the $30 Petzel Tikka headlamps we use for camping because it will only be used on rare occasions. This one seems well made, and costs only 1/3 as much, so we are happy with it. It projects well and has a comfortable head band that is easy to adjust. It does not come with batteries, which is fine with me because when batteries are included, they are always poor quality. 5Good lighting; user interface easy to use once manual readThis has very good lighting, and the headband is easy to adjust. It met my #1 criteria for a headband - great lighting but PINK band, which means my hubby won't steal it from me. The sole "demerit" I give it is that I had to read the manual to change it from white options to red ones. Most inexpensive headlamps I use rotate through the options with a single push. For this one, single push moves you through options within the selected light color, but to shift between colors, you have to hold the button for about 3 seconds to shift to the other color mode. Once you know that idiosyncrasy, this light is GREAT!4Comfortable and FunctionalI recently started running again after a very long hiatus and joined a running group in my local area to train for a half marathon. Due to the intense heat here we begin our training sessions at very early hours, long before sunrise. I needed to keep my hands free so was searching for a product that would allow me to see where I'm going so I don't trip and fall on uneven terrain or miss a curb or something. I did a quick search on Amazon and noted the great reviews for this item and took a chance. The item arrived quickly via Amazon Prime and in great condition. I've used it on about three runs so far and it has functioned very well. For starters, I have a very small head (not too long ago I would have to wear eyeglasses from the children's section) and was concerned that it might not adjust well enough to fit me correctly. No worries, this item is very adjustable for all head sizes. Next, I worried it might be uncomfortable but I've worn it on three runs thus far and it is not at all uncomfortable. Depending on humidity out on the run, I've worn both alone and with other head wraps/head bands and there has been no negative impact on performance. It is relatively light weight and comfortable. Light output is fabulous, I can see very well. In fact, when others saw my headlamp, they asked me to run at the front of the pack to help light the way for them, too. You can adjust the light and it is easy to find the button to turn on / off as you need. This has better light than the clip on lights that some other fellow runners wear clipped to their hats. I've even started using it for other activities such as walking my dog at night. This item is great and I highly recommend it.5The light unit housing appears to be of very good quality, as well as the headbandGot this for my wife who's recently begun running again. Got her the pink one, which she loves;the color doesn't look childish or shocking at all,The light unit housing appears to be of very good quality, as well as the headband. Adjustment is easy, and overall, it's comfortable. The company name and logo printed on the headband are reflective ink/paint, and works quite well. The light unit itself was smaller than I assumed, which turned out to be a good thing. Less mass means less chance of bouncing or moving during use / running.Installation of batteries is a snap (3 AAA), and the light output is VERY bright. The beam will easily and sufficiently illuminate the road/trail 100ft ahead. I have a handheld LED flashlight rated at 150 lumens, and the output of this unit is very close. So, it would seem the rated output is on target with reality.Operation is also dead simple:Click the rubberized switch once for full brightness. Within a few seconds, click again for medium , then again for low.If more than a few seconds has elapsed since last press, the light will turn off at next click. It's nice to not have to cycle through all brightness settings each time. To toggle the unit over to red light, just press and hold the switch. Default mode is blinking. Click again, SOS mode. Once again, steady red. Press and hold the switch to return to main LED.Finally, there are three "click" positions for downward tilt of the light unit. This is useful for whatever it is you're targeting, w/o having to look down all the time. (like dog-walking)In my opinion the price/value is there, and would recommend to others. The available colors are also a plus...I doubt she would have liked it as much, were it just a lifeless black.5Sturdy and BRIGHT!I went for an early morning walk in the dark with my new Blitzu i2 Wateproof LED Headlamp. I hadn't been out 3 minute before the next walker I approached yelled out, "Now, THAT'S a headlamp!" So that should answer any questions regarding the brightness of this headlamp on high.I have only used the lamp once, but it does seem to be very solid. I have to admit I have already dropped it, but nothing happened to it. (The lamp separated from its bracket, as it should, but it just snaps back on. Nothing damaged at all.)The strap is snug and comfortable. In general the lamp feels sturdy. The button is easy to push and to change modes.Previously, I owned a Black Diamond headlamp, which was a lot more expensive, and never nearly as sturdy. It had button issues and a floppy hinge from the beginning. No such issues with the Blitzu. We'll see how it holds up longterm, but it feels like a solid little light at the outset. And I love the bright pink color. :)5Handy handsfreeI spend an unreasonable amount of time tinkering with computers, meaning an unreasonable amount of time contorted in the dark underneath of a desk trying to coax some uncooperative component or screw into position. For years I did this stubbornly holding a flashlight in my teeth. That was stupid. Why did I do that? So much grief and muffled profanity could have been avoided with a simple, inexpensive headlamp. Well, at long last, I got this one and I really like it. Comfortable enough, lots of lumens, a red light option I may never use but that is nice to have anyway, plain old AAA batteries meaning I don't have to keep the thing charged or throw it away when a rechargeable battery craps out, and cheap as chips. What's not to like? My teeth are thanking me. I don't know if your teeth will thank you or not, but if you need a comfortably priced headlamp this one will do right by you.5works but lots of steps to get on and turn off works well and bright but to switch on and off you have to do thru solid to 3 speeds of blinking. sort of confusing how to switch to red, Works but In the future would probably buy a different one since don't need the blinking and have to go thru all the setting. But really do like the red. less bugs and if inside doesn't wake up my husband. Almost forgot has setting for the different brightness and this is helpful. as the really bright one is over kill for reading but is hiking or in an emergency the really bright one could be more helpful 4Not great tint for main white emitter. My particular headlamp has a definite yellow-green tint to the main white emitter. I have some much cheaper headlamps that are pure white, so it's disappointing in this case. It seems well constructed and the control button and battery compartment latch work well. I would say the strap is better than most cheap headlamps as it is wider and seems very good quality material.I would prefer Low, Medium and High for the main white emitter. This one has high, higher and highest. Not much difference between the 3 settings. The user interface is pretty good for switching modes.3Surprising quality and not just for kids!I bought two of these for my grandchildren (6 and 9), just as a fun gift, and because I have several of other brands. To my astonishment, these headlights are of superior quality, with more features, than any of the higher priced ones I have, usually advertised as for running at night or working in a dark spot. Many other people have covered the surprising brightness, the wide range of functions of the white and red lights, the water tolerance, the whistle (which was designated as for "outdoor" use only, while here!), and the importance of being able to use rechargeable batteries (not everything that takes AAA batteries will fit all rechargeables, which can occasionally be ever so slightly larger). One thought if you give these to children of this age as a gift--it is unlikely (certainly not possible for the 6-year-old) that any child under 10 would have both the understanding and hand strength to attach the band to the back of the light. I say this only as something to be aware of, because for any child to fully understand and enjoy this gift, they need to understand the responsible use of them: not shining a bright light in anyone else's eyes, when and where to use the different features, and the importance of not wasting battery strength--things most adults would teach along the way anyway. I guess my only confusion (but certainly not a serious problem!) is that the piece of paper that came on the inside of the plastic said that the warranty was 3 years, where the product detail page on Amazon states that the warranty is unlimited. Wish they would clarify that. My only other suggestion would be that they make these in white, because I always find white items much easier to find in the dark--and often you're in the dark when you're looking for these! I realize that white may not be as appealing to kids as the colorful ones, but clearly, given all its features, this item has considerable appeal for adults as well!5Needs headband for top of head; otherwise great for hiking...not jogging or runningReally like the three different levels of white light (high, med, low), the flashing red light, the solid red light, and the automatic flashing SOS. Only negative is there is no headband for the top of the head. This unit with the batteries installed weights 3.4 oz (90g) and is heavy enough to slide down your forehead if you are jogging or running. For hiking, the strap does a good job keeping the unit in place; worked great on our Grand Canyon Rim to Rim. Would be perfect if they made a headband which included the top of the head.4THE Light To Count On!This light is indeed a Wonderful product. First: I was a bit concerned about "comfort" since it appeared to not have any type of "padding" for the forehead; which indeed it does not, (Just in case I have some spare "rubber" padding in case I needed it, but I did not) as it turns out, it is NOT an issue. This headlamp is indeed Very comfortable to wear. Second, one review commented about the "Head-strap" not being attached and separate in the packaging, but the attachment of the head-strap was a "no-brainer", easy and quick. It is also quite "wide" so that it fits comfortably and securely on your head. The "light output" is excellent, at least for my purposes which is working on my SUV or Harley within the garage. The ability to adjust the light intensity (Three Different Levels) is a definite "Plus" ~ The Harley has a lot of "Chrome", and adjusting the light intensity helps to cut down on "Glare", which I admit can be BLINDING at times! ...At night, on a road-side during a break-down, it will also be Excellent. Plenty of light to change a tire, look under the hood or anything else you might want. I can also attest this Head-light would be EXCELLENT for "Home Defense" purposes at night in the dark. I have tactical LED flash lights all over my home, for just this purpose, but after receiving this product, I want one for my bedside at night when I'm sleeping in the event of an intruder. Easy and Quick to put-on, AND, it leaves both hands free for OTHER things... you get my point, I'm sure... Some would say, "Hey, It Just Makes You A Target" ~ No; "Accuracy" is what is important in a "Gun Fight"! But I digress...The light adjustment (degree of tilt angle) also is Excellent... just enough. Although I believe the description stated greater, the actual adjustment is closer to just around 45 degrees, I can't see why you would need more. But I supposed some might need more for some reason or another, the adjustment is just fine for my purposes. The "Red" LED, it's Intensity and adjustments are also Excellent. At least Three (3) different modes. "Flashing", "SOS" and "Steady-On". I believe that there is also a "combination" of both "white" and "red" LED's on at the same time, which again is a plus.My ONLY confusion about this Head-lamp is the "Low Battery Indicator". I was under the impression that it was in the "On-Off-Mode Selection" switch/button, but the question "forum" one person told me it was one the "left" (as you are wearing it) next to the "white" LED. ...as you look at the front of the light behind the lens, it appears to have Three (3) LEDS Horizontally across the unit. But apparently "one" of these is the actual "low-battery indicator. Which is fine, the description was just a little confusing to me, or possibly I just read it incorrectly...Overall, I can't find ANYTHING wrong, with this Head-Light. It's an Excellent product as so many others have reviewed, well constructed, comfortable and a Excellent value. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase additional exact ones when I can. Since I am "retired" and have limited funds at any given time, I will obtain more when I can; one for the car and one for the bedroom. Bottom line; You can't go wrong with this product. Excellent Value, with Excellent shipping and delivery which again is just another "PLUS". Many too have described the excellent customer service. That remains to be seen, because I just don't have any problems with this product or expect to have any. I will indeed obtain additional units when I can.5Great "handsfree" for great price! This Blitzu is so great fo me! I had a small headlamp from when the kids were younger but surely i had thrown out. I needed one since now that my eyesight has begun to get poor, i have struggles with many small craft projects to even nail care.At age 41 you don't expect to look at more fun time stuff as practical everyday "functional tools", but we kids try to stick together! So i hope one of them sees this!I did take off a star off for the instructional sheet for set up. The general battery set up was a no brainer, but before I got the chance to go farther with it... my screen name and screen time, this dude has taken so much time! 4
