    DO NOT BUY! Does not work with any thing that has phantom power draw. like an AVR Purchased 2 of these and unfortunately the 1st didnt try for months. When I did use it it stays on with any device I plug into the control outlet. So I assumed it was defective and bought another. Same thing. There is no sensitivity adjustment on this so you have no way to manage it. I have 2 other switched power strips and they work great with avr as the control point. I cant believe they make this and SELL it. Maybe if you have a switched lamp or something with no phantom power draw it will work. But for an AVR its useless. 1Saves a lot of otherwise wasted electricity Great product. You set a trigger outlet - the one that will rule them all - like a computer or lamp. You plug in the other things you only need on when the main one is on, like a printer and speakers or a charger. These will only get power when the main device is on. I have one set up for the computer. When it's on, the printer and speakers get power. When it's off, they're not only off, they aren't leaking phantom power. I have one set up for an end table lamp. When it's on, so are the phone chargers. When it's off, the chargers aren't getting any power. Since I mostly charge my phone there at night when I also need a lamp, this works out great. I also like that the plugs are color coded - green for the ones that are on power saving and red for the constant on ones (because there are some things you need always plugged in). 5No sensitivity dial, does not work for my needs I bought this knowing it had a high chance of not working for my PC. Low-and-behold, the "auto-sensing" feature present on all devices purchased after July 2105 [sic] is not sensitive enough to know when my PC is off. What else is left to say? I contacted BITS Limited (appropriate name, eh? Limited is right) in the hopes they have a solution, but I will likely just return this item and find something else that hopefully works. 1Adjustable! This is great for turning on and off your devices with your TV. Important to note if you plan on buying this for use with a newer TV (specifically the Samsung QLED TV I upgraded to) do not have WiFi turned on. Newer TVs that use WiFi (again assuming it is the same as my TV) use close enough to the same amount of power on as they do off making it useless for this power strip. However turning off the WiFi and running hard wired internet solved the issue. The adjustment/ Versatility of this power strip is great! 5Great idea, could be improved in practice. This seems like a great idea, but there's few things holding it back from a higher rating. The spacing of outlets is awkward. Only one has an additional gap which doesn't leave enough space for awkward plugs transformers for routers and streaming devices. This could be resolved if the outlets were rotated 90 degrees like the power strip I replaced. My router that is in the always on outlet has an awkward transformer and while using just one socket, blocks 4. Subsequently, I've had to plug another power strip into the auto-switched sockets to accommodate all my devices.The auto-switching seems a little odd too. I selected my 600w receiver to be the auto switching device, as it only uses 0.2w when off. Given the power draw variation this seemed like a good candidate as would be clearly detectable that if was either on or off, and switch off the relevant devices: TV, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast. However, I often find its not switching them off, so it makes me wonder if I'm really saving anything or if I have a possible defective product. This might be going back to Amazon. 3Adjustable and works great First, if you can't tell from the description, here's how this works: one outlet (blue in the picture) is the "master" outlet. If something plugged into this outlet is turned on, it will activate the automatically switched outlets (green in this picture). If not, they will be switched off. The idea is to help you save energy by effectively turning off power to things that might draw a phantom load just by being plugged in, even when you don't need them (and sometimes even when they're turned off) like computer monitors, speakers, DVD players, or pretty much anything with an AC adapter. Finally, there are two always-on (red in the picture) outlets that are never automatically switched off (but, of course, you still turn off them and the entire power strip with the physical switch).I have two of these, one for my computer and one for my other computer that I use in place of a TV. Both have the computer in the "master" outlet and the monitor and speakers in the automatically switched outlets. I have a floor lamp in the always-on outlet in one so I can use it without my computer, and I have my wireless router in an always-on outlet of the other. Both have worked wonderfully, exactly as expected, by switching off the desired peripherals when the computer is off or sleeping. I've both for over a year now, in constant use, and they're holding up fine.A key feature of this power strip that I couldn't find on similar products (like the Belkin Conserve strip) is that you can adjust the sensitivity of the master outlet with a screw on the side of this power strip. This is important because, for example, my MacBook often uses so little power when it's *on* that the power strip didn't initially detect it and turn on the switched outlets. I had to adjust the screw a bit to make it switch on and off as expected. You can also do the same if your device uses more power than expected when off (or sleeping or whatever) in order to make the power strip still turn off the extra devices. Reviews I've read for other strips without this feature seem to indicate that some people have problems that could be resolved if they were able to do this.Finally, I've noticed this same company makes similar power strips in different sizes with different features (7 or 10 outlets; just power or power plus phone or phone and coaxial cable protection). Until I rearranged my equipment, I almost wish I would have purchased a larger one, but this one works fine for me now and it's also the least expensive.In summary, this product has worked as expected for me and held up to my usage for over a year so far. If you're looking for a product like this, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one, especially on account of its adjustable sensitivity, a feature that appears to be lacking in most other "green" power strips. 5Stop reading this and buy it NOW! This power strip is simply amazing. I am using this on my tv entertainment unit with my tv as the source. I have an Xbox 360, PS3, retron 3 and a DVD/VHS combo player which combined draw about 10W total when they are all in standby. That's enough electricity to run my small lamp in the bedroom with a 10W led light bulb constantly. I've always been aware of vampire electronics but lets face it, no one wants to plug/unplug their devices every time they need to use them. This power strip eliminates the wasted energy that your devices are drawing just waiting to be turned on. Studies show that in a full year one month of your electricity bill is contributed to vampire energy alone. An estimated 15% for the average American. Put your money back where it belongs when you're not using your source devices. Not to mention doing your part to reduce your carbon footprint. I will definitely be buying more of these and would easily recommend this to anyone looking to save or their electronic bill and help save the planet! I already supplement some of my energy with a small off grid solar system that I set up. $ha$hing! 5Perfect for what it does I was looking for a solution to power an LED light strip mounted behind our TV when we turn on the TV and AV Receiver, and then turn the light strip off when the TV/AVR are powered off.Before: An older AVR had a switched outlet that I plugged the lights into. When the AVR was turned on or off, the lights would follow suit.Now: Upgraded the AVR (for 4k), but the AVR no longer has a switched outlet.This smart strip is exactly what I was looking for. I plugged the AVR into the blue "Control" outlet and the light strip into the green "automatically switched" outlets. I turn on the AVR, the lights instantly come on. When I turn off the AVR, within 10 seconds (the time it takes the AVR to fully power down to the threshold required by the Smart Strip), the lights turn off. Problem solved!I did try to use the TV as the Control, but it doesn't drop it's power to the required threshold.Great product to solve a specific scenario. 5One worked great for one day, second one failed after 5 months. I had my computer plugged into the control outlet and two monitors and speakers plugged into the switched outlets.It worked great for one day. A day later, both monitors and speakers stay powered on when the computer is powered off.Seems the autoswitching just quit working. There is no adjustment knob as referenced in the company's instructions and troubleshooting guide.Also, the outlets (except for one) are all tightly spaced. A bigger plug will block the outlets on either side, making those outlets useless.Update: I actually bought two of these at the same time -one for my spouse and one for me. The second one worked for only 5 months. Now, none of the devices in the green plugs (monitor, speakers) will power on when the control device (computer) is powered on.What a waste of time and money. 1This smart strip 4941 probably works fine for something that completely ... Will not work with my Denon AVR. All modern AVRS go to standby when you power them down. If you use one to control the switched outlets this power strip will not cut them off. I thought from what I read this power strip would come with a sensitivity adjustment to correct this but when I called customer support they informed me the newer models no longer have this feature. This smart strip 4941 probably works fine for something that completely powers down, but for an AVR it is completely useless. 1
