Doesn't take up space and provides great funtionalityConvenient way to add outlets and USB ports from a standard outlet. The USB ports work great, sharing 3.1A which is plenty for most devices. And the outlets are spaced far apart enough that that small bricks can easily be plugged in without worry. Only covers up the original outlet a few milimeters on each side, so it is great for the added convenience without taking up much space5Less Clutter 1 Year UpdateI like this a lot. This adapter really does a great job providing energy to our electrical gadgets in our home command center. We keep the phone, answering machine, cell phones and our Google Home all in one area. It does take up both outlets, but with so many spaces on the adapter, it's not a problem. The USB ports work very well. Overall we are very pleased with the purchase.Update: Totally buying more Besttens. This charges all my electronics in like 15 min. My other adapters are soo slooooow. S-l-o-w. It arrived on time. Since it is an electrical device, I looked for a UL label. Didn't find one but might have missed it. In the past a UL label indicated that the device had been independently tested and deemed safe, but base on what we have learned about how government agencies don't always do there job correctly, I wonder how important a UL label is these days.That said, the product works great!. It appears high quality and is very nicely made. And is a good price. The USB ports provide plenty of power.I've read some reviews complaining about this device not having a screw to attach it to the wall outlet. But this is the reason I bought it. I plug it into a GFI outlet so I don't want it screwed in, in case I need to reset the GFI outlet. When pushed in fully, the GFI breaker still has clearance to trip.Other complaints referenced not being able to plug in a nightlight. Guess it depends on how the plug on the nightlight is orientated, but mine fit just fine.I would buy this product again!5Looks like a good product, but not compatible with GFCI outlets It looks like a good product, but FYI that this is not compatible with GFCI outlets (such as those commonly in bathrooms/kitchens). It won't physically fit, and there's a note on the plug that says it's not compatible. 4Great for oversized plugsI have a 6 of plugs that come together in one location. 2 are oversized plugs. Well I had a 6 plug surge outlet there and the oversize plugs prevented me from using 2 of the plugs and I had to use an extension cord. I felt like I had a plug from "A Christmas Story". Now with this new design wall outlet all 6 plugs fit comfortably and have surge protection.For those that will say "shouldn't have 6 plugs in a wall outlet", all but the TV draw very low current, so it is safe.5Great Wall tap IF you don t need to constantly plug & unplug thingsWhile it s a good wall tap with the nice USB plug features, I m disappointed that it easily pulls out of the wall when disconnecting just about anything you plug into it. It would be better if it used both receptical plug-ins to hold it into the outlet or took advantage of the central screw for the wall plate to go all the way through the wall tap into the electrical outlet thus securing it to the wall. I m using this in the bathroom where we have hair dryers and flat irons or curling irons being plugged & unplugged after each use & it s annoying to have to use two hands to hold down this wall tap while unplugging the hair dryer every day.4Highly Recommend 2nd purchase for the same purposes: (1) to shove furniture as close to the wall as possible (i.e., circumvent the "sticking-out" of power cords), (2) surge protection, and (3) convenience of USB charging. The shelf feature on this unit is also a plus. For the first unit, the bed and headboard are near-flushed to the wall (~ 1.2" in gap) and allows us to plug lamps, laptop and USB chargers. For the second unit, an media cabinet is also near-flushed to the wall, which hides the unsightly video and power cables.Will get a third unit when the need arises. Highly recommend. 5These are a great protectors Living in a rural area we ha, you name it. After a recent surge-We've quite a few power outages- trees, wind, snow, mice chewing cable lines- you name it. Our surge protector on out TV was out and we lost our 4 year old 65" inch TV. On another outlet we lost our desktop, keyboard. I have now placed heavier surge protectors on those and used these Bestten protectors in each room- Not only does it give us more outlets, but the USB's are really a help with EVERYONE in our house having one or more devices, phones, etc. We learned a very important lesson, ( expensive too) , but with these we are protected. Small profile works so well in each bedroom. I put an extra one in living room for when our friends and guests need extra charging for their phones. Great product. 5Affordable solution for an outlet that can hold your phone I was looking for an outlet that had both standard power and USB connections along with the ability to hold my phone. There are some options out there where the phone can actually plug in, but my phone has USB-C connection, and all I could find were models that had a Lightning connector (for iPhone) and micro USB (for Android). Then I found this model. As you can see from the picture I attached, I purchased a small braided USB C cord that I could plug in to the outlet, and set my phone on top. Granted, my phone sits sideways on the top, but that's ok - I simply wanted a way for my phone to charge at night, and be a good distance from the bed (so I have to physically get up to respond to the alarm!).I like how the electrical and USB outlets are on the side of this unit. Takes up less space that way, particularly if you were to put this behind furniture or something. 5Very Poor Layout Of OutletsWorst adapter out there. It didn't even cover the hole in the wall. I guess you have to leave the original wall plate on unlike the other type out there. Plus it won't stay on the wall. There is no screw to hold it on. Then there is the issue of the polarized plug, the prong that is bigger than the other. They are ALL on the left side so if you have any type of transformer or in my case a night light and a wireless controller, you can't plug them in because they stick towards the center and cover the USB or hit each other. If the top plug was right-side up instead of upside down you could at least use that one. Check your items that you plan on plugging in first. I sent mine back for a refund.1Could be better. Recently purchased this product and currently using it.I like that the outlets and plugs are on the side, which give sit a more cleaner look and the cords to not stuck out.USB is great and it can charge tablets and mobile phones at the same time. No problem so far.The top area is great for those who have outlets weight line level so you do not have to bend down when charging.Only concern I have are the following.It is only 300 Joules of protection. it should be at least 900 joules.Would be nice to have a center screw so it can be screen on to the plug to prevent it from falling and be secure. Mine has not fallen so far.Need light indicator that protection is on but it does not have one.Packaging is terrible, i rather have it packaged in a box than a plastic as the plastic can be charge when opening.So far so good with mine. 4Bigger is betterFinally found what I was looking for! In our bathroom there is only one outlet, and it's sideways. Between the two of us there are 3-5 devices that need power at any given time, so my toothbrush or razor was always getting unplugged for her dryer or whatever all those other things are. I tried several sockets but they always failed to solve the problem, either because of the sideways mount and/or my razor's oversized plug hogging too much space. Enter this big guy. Problem solved! Nice that it also has USB ports as well, which most of these sorts of outlets seem to have these days5Just what I was looking forAs you can see from the picture I was able to use all 6 outlets. Even though the previous wall outlet I had could accommodate 6 plugs, I couldn't use all 6 because 2 were adapters and they wouldn't fit. When I first saw this outlet I thought there was enough space that I could use the top and bottom outlet for the adapters, but there wasn't enough space, but it still allowed me to get all 6 plugged in. Very happy with my purchase.5Could be betterThe concept is great, however the application leaves a little to be desired. It plugs into only a single receptacle, not two. When you attempt to plug something into the lower plugs, there is nothing supporting the bottom back of the outlet and it tends to pop out of the single plug and shut everything down. I am trying to fix a bottom support to attach to the adapter at the lower back to make it more stable. Right now, I pretty much have to pull the adapter out of the plug to add or remove a plug.3Not reccomended, multiple issuesThe first problem was right out of the box -- the oval shape of the device obscures the second outlet of a standard two-point wall outlets in North America, even when plugged into the bottom outlet. So I gained 6 outlets, but lost one.The second problem I ran into gradually over a few weeks -- which is that the fit for the plugs into the BESTTEN adapter is much more snug than the fit of the adapter prongs into my wall outlet. Thus, every time I want to unplug something from the BESTTEN adapter, the whole adapter starts to come out of the wall. I have to hold the adapter into the wall in order to unplug something from it. I find this very inconvenient.Finally, after one year of use, one of the outlets stopped working. Then, two months later, two more outlets stopped working, WHILE ON WAS ON VACATION, and one of them was powering my mini-fridge! Came back to moldy food all over the place. Not fun.1
