Customer Reviews

Excellent This is an excellent wall mount for your TV. I mounted a 32 inch LCD that weighs around 30 lbs. The instructions are pretty good, no complaints. It comes with decent screws for installing the plate to the wall. I mounted directly onto a stud. They are phillips head screws and it was somewhat difficult to get them drove all the way in and tight. As others have noted, if the plate is not level then the TV will not be. What I wound up doing is figuring out pretty close where I wanted the TV to be, then I mounted only the top screw into the wall...you do predrill to make it somwhat easier to get it in. Then with the arms attached to the plate and a level I was able to mark the wall to see where the bottom screw needed to go. I was still off a little but there is enough play in the size of holes in the plate versus the screws where you can move it a little without needing to drill new holes. The only improvement I would make would be to make the holes in the mounting plate oblong. That way you could adjust the "level" much easier.Would recommend this product and would use again if I had another TV of similar size to mount. 5Great affordable mount but not the easiest to assemble. This is the first time I put a tv on a wall. This mount met my needs for how much weight it would support and the size of the set. I picked it because it was cheaper than most of the others and it had several good reviews.I put up a Samsung E series 40" LED (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0074FGR74/ref=twister_B007RU7158)using this wall mount. I recommend anyone to go to the AVF website and download the instructions for this model from there. It is revised and several pages long with more details and information than is on the poorly done instructions in the box.Pros:-Cheap-Made of sturdy materials-had all the parts (and extras you might not need)Cons:-Directions were way too hard to follow that were packaged with it. Had to download instructions form website.-Came with everything you would need for several sizes of tv's and it makes it a little confusing at first because you are left to decide which spacers and washers to use to make the tv fit.I would recommend it if you are looking for a tv mount and are on a budget. Make sure you download the instructions from the website. 4Ok but needs more bolts I ordered both a Samsung 5300 and 6500 TV. This kit does not contain bolts long enough to use with the 6500 but it works fine with the 5300. The 6500 TV has recessed bolt holes and require a bolt about 1/2 inch longer. I'll have to go buy four bolts that are longer. It has a sticker that says maximum 66 pounds but this kit is very heavy steel and would probably hold my truck on the wall if I could get it up there. Also wondering about something else. I like the snap in place to put the TV on the wall but so far I have not figured out how to get the TV off the wall in case I want to take it down.Update: I don't have to wonder anymore about getting the TV off the wall. I had to move one and I had to pull very hard on the bottom of the TV to get it loose. It broke one of the slip on plastic things it uses to lock the TV to bracket on the wall. The result if you have to move your TV is you will have a TV that pretty much just hangs onto the wall bracket. This could be a lot better made.I noticed the price is getting so cheap, it's almost free the last time I looked. 4Excellent product for single stud use. Exactly what I needed to mount my TV after realizing a single mount was only mount I could use due to having too much space between studs. Thank you to my builder. NOT!! You would think that if I put power outlet and entertainment jack on that wall that a TV is going there, so why not put studs to utilize wall mount? Ohh that's right because it is a closet wall and does not have to meet code, why should builder do me a favor. SMDH. Only problem is LG TV I bought will not work with mount because the power outlet is covered by mount brace. Lucky me, I am buying a larger TV and definitely checking the back before purchase. We already mounted stud bracket and I am using this mount! Easiest mount to assemble! This is no fault of EcoMount because they provide several options for mounting. Also, excellent and very helpful customer service at EcoMount! They went above and beyond each time I called them. 542" Compatible! Great for the price! Well, I gotta admit, I was quite surprised when I got this mount and it was in a box the size of a loaf of bread! Some interesting (yet functional) engineering went into this one. The mount consists of a horizontal base plate, two 'wing' vertical plates, and a couple adapter plates for various configurations of VESA spacing.First of all, I got this to mount a 42" Haier brand LCD TV that fit within weight and VESA mount specs, but was fully aware that it may not work. The box however, to my surprise, had a sticker over the original "25-40 inch" label that now said "25-42 inch", so I had that going for me. Upon going through the instructions (no words, all pictures) and thinking I'd need to use the adapter plates to connect to the max size TV, turns out I was just fine using the main vertical plates by themselves on the VESA sizing of 400 x 200 on the TV. That simplified things.Second thing I found out, is with the mount on a wall, you are at the mercy of the studs with this unit. There is no leeway on the mount itself as it's attached by two screws to the wall in the center of the horizontal base plate at the top and bottom. I was hoping it would be able to shift to the left or right some, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Especially for a larger TV like this 42", where the mount goes, so does the TV (At least on a framed drywall wall. On Concrete, it appears the base plate connects by the 4 corners pretty much where ever you choose.)once you attach the wings to the TV, and the base plate is on the wall, the TV can then 'hook' onto the base plate hanging the top wing plate hooks first, then the bottom hooks pop into place. From there you can adjust the tilt with (4) 10mm nuts behind the TV. There's a little room to work behind the TV, too. Because of the tilt mechanism, the TV (when vertically plumb) sits about 2 3/4" from the wall.Overall, simple installation, great price, and solid design. Took less than an hour from the time I took the TV out of the box to the time the TV was on the wall working. (Haven't finished the in-wall wiring, etc, but it's hung and working!) Still would have preferred to not be held to centering the TV on a pre-existing stud, but for the price ($15 when I ordered it) you can't go wrong! 4Cheap, Inexpensive, and Comedically Bad Instructions Overall: If you're handy and really broke, you may want to buy this. Otherwise, steer clear. This sucker took me a couple hours to get set up properly, and I mounted my friend's (admittedly double-priced) arm in 20 minutes.Quality: Well, you get what you pay for and this is a very inexpensive mount. It isn't very sturdy, the allen keys and the bolts they correspond to both strip very easily, and the middle joint of the arm (the only one pre-assembled) is so floppy that the TV won't stay where we want it. Mounting the TV to the bracket revealed that some of the washers were also out of specification - they were too big to fit in a slot and thus buckled over the head of their nuts so that a socket wrench couldn't tighten them. Most importantly, the arm doesn't stay level with its own bracket, so you need to have someone muscle the TV into place once only a single bolt is set (don't drop your TV) and level the mounting bracket in your stud using the TV at the angle you'd like it.Instructions: Wow, these could win a UX (user experience) award. Overall, the instructions were some of the very worst I've ever seen without being downright wrong. A talented UX designer would be hard pressed to create more ambiguous instructions. This is made the more convoluted by an almost total lack of words on the instructions. IKEA, eat your heart out. 2Very good hardware Only have had this mount for a couple of weeks but I must say so far I am very happy with this tv wall mount.I have an older proscan 32inch lcd tv that has a very large bezzle and large speaker section on the bottom of the screen, but with the double articulating arms it can almost turn 90 degrees left and right.I'd say about 86 degrees in each direction and it also tilts a good bit up and down.As most people know older lcd's are heavy and with the larger than normal speaker section this tv is about 33 lbs,but the mount handles it easily and smoothly after a couple of adjustments. It feels very secure with the stud mount, I was lucky I had a stud where i needed it. I was not enamered with the supplied directions, but i looked them up on line and that helped some.I'm not a very good handy man but once i understood the whole out look of how it would come together it was fairly easy.It was so easy I thought I must have done some thing wrong.I have an odd sized Vesa mount 200x400 but it turned out that size was one in the plans that was easyist to put together.Don't be alarmed if you have alot of harware left over this package has alot of adapters to fit larger screens and I did'nt need them for mine. Looking around at different mounts I was amazed at the price range from site to site. For this product AVF EL404B-A Multi Position Dual Arm TV Mount for 25-Inch to 40-Inch Screens (Black) ,Amazon had the best price and delivery was quick and the product was in great condition. I am very happy with the product and seller... Hope this review helps someone. 5Poorly made First thing first, this mount is terrible. The mount was fairly easy to assemble and connected to the tv without much problem. However the mounting hardware is junk. The mount comes with large slotted metal plates that mount to the tv, which may be fine if you are using the large hardware for a large tv but if you are using this for a small to medium size tv you will be forced to use the nylon washers/shims. Depending on your chosen hardware you will have to use 1-2 nylon shims that slip over the screw to make the diameter of the screw larger so it wont slip through the larger metal slot. When you tighten a screw against these washers they deform making the connection to the bracket questionable. Now comes the REAL issue, the metal arm was warped. I mounted the base plate to the wall completely level however the TV was not level. The left side of the tv was a full inch lower then the right side of the tv. This mount has no adjustment for level so if its warped your out of luck. I bought this mount because it was affordable, it "fit" my tv and had great reviews. Personally I question the authenticity of the positive reviews of this mount after having worked with it. I returned this mount and replaced it with a Atdec Telehook TH-1040-VFM, which is a FAR superior mount. 1Good product with some caveats First, the mount is well made and solid. I didn't have any problems with understanding the directions. However, there are a couple of things to be aware of. First, there are no spacers for the bolts that mount to the back of the TV. If you have a Samsung like mine the bolt holes are indented into the back of the TV by about 1/2". This requires some stand off spacers and longer bolts. Luckily for me I had parts from the fixed mount I was replacing. You could probably cobble something together from Home Depot but it won't work out of the box. If you're mounting bolt holes are flat to the back of the TV and there are no obstructions that can get in the way of the bracket then you're probably all set.Second, while this mount will fit larger TVs be aware that the length of the mount arms limit how much a larger TV can move. Probably not a problem on a flat wall as you can still get a pretty good angle relative to the wall. But, if you're putting it in a corner it's going to be restricted. 4Sturdy I'm not sure why some people are having issues getting this thing set up (i.e. needing to loosen/tighten screws to get everything right, tilting off-center, etc.). The hardest part was getting the thing bolted firmly to a stud, but that had everything to do with the fact that our $15 stud finder is obviously a liar. The TV (40" TCL, about 36 lbs.) fit perfectly on the mount, and does not list to the side or slant (use a level when you install this!). Also, if you tighten the screws just right, you shouldn't have to break out a ratchet every time you want to tilt the TV up or down.Overall, a solid mount at a very fair price. This mount is MUCH cheaper than comparable mounts at Fry's or Best Buy, and is much better than a similarly-priced mount would be at a big box store.A gave 4 stars because the directions were overly obtuse, even by IKEA standards. However, if you're not a total idiot, you should be able to figure it out through a little trial and error. 4
