Customer Reviews

Not clear but frosted I really like these labels but they are not 100% clear but more of a frosted look. You can barely see them on white envelopes but you will definitely see them on any colored envelopes. 4Read before buying! These labels are great but not really 'clear.' These are advertised as being 'clear,' they're not. They're a cloudy transparent color. It's slightly see-through but not considered clear. Why is this a problem? Besides being advertised wrong it's obviously only meant to be used on white envelopes or paper. If you use it on any other color, such as the one in the listing picture, the label will look white and stand out. The picture shows the label as being 'clear' or 'invisible,' even when applied on a slightly beige envelope. I got these for my wedding invitations and they stand out a lot more, even though my envelope color is the same as the one in the listing.I bought the laser variant of the same label and they're actually clear and see-through.. Not sure why both labels are from Avery, both say 'clear' but one is and one isn't. It should say 'semi-clear' or 'cloudy.' 3Great Clear Labels to Make Any Invitation Look That Much Fancier I bought these clear labels to print addresses for a birthday party. I was worried that once affixed to a white envelope, these labels would come out yellow-ish but that was not the case. The process was pretty painless: I downloaded the corresponding template on the Avery website and inputted the information I wanted on each label. I printed coral-colored text and images on these labels using an inkjet printer and they came out great. The ink adheres to the labels perfectly without smearing. My only advice would be to print out your labels on white paper first and compare the white paper test sheet to the label sheet in a light to make sure the alignment is correct. The first set I printed were off by a few millimeters but they were still usable so I didn't mind. The labels on the white cream envelopes I purchased looked clear and the text was prominent. 5Not "clear" as the box states. Before purchasing these I really wish I had read the reviews instead of just looking at the star rating. Because the box says they are "clear" that's what I thought I'd be getting. They are not clear. They are frosted. 2Great for Bulk Address Labels - Instructions below I used these to make address labels for my Save the Dates. They re easy to use and can set up the template quickly using Microsoft word (see below and attached photos). You should note that the labels are not exactly clear. They have a frosted/matte finish which can be seen if you re printing on anything other than a plain white envelope.Pluses: I found them easy to peel. The width is large enough for addresses that are longer (for families with long street names etc.), but the height is short enough so it doesn t interfere with stamps and large return address labels if you have a small envelope.Minuses: you cannot rerun the sheet through the printer. Once the backing is bent, it ll jam the printer, so you better get it right the first time. This is also a problem if you don t want to print 30 labels at a time.To use: Open MS word (at this time mine is version 2013) -> mailing -> labels -> options -> select tray and label vendors: Avery US Letter , product number: 18660 Easy Peel Address Labels -> OK 4Frosted. Not clear. These are frosted, not clear. I need something that you can see through. not something that is frosted. Oh well. Money down the drain. 1They melt! And they re not clear! These were completely awful! The frosted matte disintegrates at the tiniest bit of sweat on busy fingers. I couldn t touch the labels once they were on!And they certainly are not CLEAR. As others have said, they are FROSTED.Altogether a huge waste of an entire evening typing and formatting before printing and realizing it was a complete loss once they were on.With that said... if you put these on a clear jar, and then WASH the matte coating off... you have a lovely crystal clear label that s firmly adhered. Presumably, you could write on that! 2Great but failed the wet test They're super easy to use and print clearly (using an HP inkjet). There's a slight frost around the outside of the label like other reviewers are noticing as well, but it doesn't look bad at all. Unfortunately they did not pass the wet test, which when considering everything else was rather impressive, was a huge disappointment. They would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for that, but knowing that your return address (or whatever you're using them for) might smudge or even disappear is a pretty big concern. They look nice so I'm trying to put a strip of clear tape over each one, but it's a pain and more time consuming than the whole task should have been, so the purchase is bittersweet. 3Great for Wedding Invitations! My handwriting is atrocious and my fiance's is even worse, we're on a budget so we didn't want to splurge on getting a calligrapher for all 150 of our wedding invitations so we purchased these instead, and boy am I glad we did! We picked out a script-looking font and let our computer do the rest. We let the labels sit for a few minutes before we did anything to make sure they wouldn't smudge and they turned out perfectly! The clear labels disappeared on our white envelopes and I didn't get a hand cramp from attempting to hand write addresses on 150 envelopes. 5Work great and great amount for the price! These worked great for my wedding invitations and I have plenty leftover. I even used them over my return address stamp as the ink wouldn't fully dry/soak into the envelope type I was using. Multiple uses! The only problem I had was when I printed, it didn't line up exactly right. That also may have been due to me having "borderless printing" selected...? Also, the instructions say to use a different number template than the number on the front. I just used the number on the front. Maybe that was the issue, too. Who knows! I'll experiment more next time. 4
