it is fine highlighters did not gave 5 stars because it does ... UPDATED Correction to my previous review - this is NOT real original HI-LIGHTERS!!!! This is fake JUNK!!!! All the colors goes right through the paper NO MATTER how thick is your paper!!!! When i exam them more carefully i realized that they are actually different from originals that i got from Staples! Dont buy this is fake product! 1Pretty in PinkPretty in Pink? No. Pretty in Purple! Love these things. The purple is not overwhelming like I thought it might be, it's nice and light and you can see through it fine. It's not as vibrant as the pink, OBVIOUSLY but it's not as dark as the green or blue either. It's got good coverage, just not as dark. Basically it's a perfect kind of highlighter for someone looking for an alternative everyday color like we were.Good product.5The brand that coined the name Every bit as good as the Sharpies that I usually use, at a much more reasonable price. I guess they're advertising isn't as aggressive, but when it comes to buying an item whose brand name is synonymous with the item, odds are that you'll be getting something good. I went for a good deal, and I'm glad that I did...and I probably will from now on :) 5Awful Tips + Bleeding InkThese are the WORST highlighters I have ever used and they FAIL on all categories. The tips aren't shaped well, so you have to re-highlight every word or sentence 3-4-5 times to try to get the highlighting to look even, and then it still isn't even. The ink bleeds through printed book paper. Avery should be ashamed to issue such a poor product. I tried several from the box over two nights hoping to break them in or to weed out the lemons, but the truth is these are simply poorly made, low-quality highlighters. Buy these only if you like to ruin your books with bleeding and un-even highlighting.1The BestI ABSOLUTELY love them. The color just pops out at you. I purchased these to draw on t shirts for my daughters Glo Party and the outcome was great. The color popped out greater than I expected. Every one was glowing!!! The ink was still great after being used multiple times. I will definitely purchase these again in the future. I've used others before but this is by far the best I've tried.5The Best I've Found.I read a lot of self improvement books and have developed a process in which I like to read and highlight key excerpts and ideas, document them, and then record a video discussing the key ideas for later review. As part of this, I go through a lot of highlighters. I've tried every brand under the sun and still find myself coming back to the Hi-Liter brand. These particular ones were the best deal I could find on Amazon and last much longer than other brands which pale in comparison. I will most definitely be ordering these again when they eventually run out.5Not as good as Sharpie'sI don't like this brand of hi-liters. The orange is far too dark and shows through on the opposite side of the paper. They bleed just as much or more than the sharpie brand. The design is not ergonomically intelligent. There is a sharp plastic crease at the grip position. The nib is angled too much which requires over-curling the wrist to attempt an even hi-lite. The Sharpie's are better in every way. I will not go back to hi-liter or recommend them to anyone. The Sharpie is smoothly contoured, has less angulation at the nib, uses a lighter ink that doesn't show through as much, and may bleed less. Go sharpie or try someone else.3Dont last as long as a "name brand" but longevity is ok to meI dislike the way that these are packaged. They are all crunched into a tiny box, which is then crunched into a tiny mailer. My package must have been crushed because some of them were cracked.The markers themselves are ok. Hoping to find it again and donate some to my child's school.3Save your money and frustration, try a different brandOk, they are purple, as advertised. That is why they got 2 stars.HOWEVER, they bleed through EVERYTHING. Regular copy paper, cardstock, my beloved planner...everything.Unlike every other "Hi-Liter" brand highlighter I own, these are nearly impossible to get a nice, text-width line to highlight - instead, the flat side is uneven on every marker in this box (so not a single-item fluke), rendering a highlight that looks like my toddler did it. The chisel point leaves big blurps of color which further bleed through the paper.I am suspicious that maybe these are a knock-off "Hi-Liter"? Not the quality I am accustomed to. I'll try a different brand.2Highlighters Bleed! The highlighter bleeds! I have attached photos of the Hi-Liter brand vs the Sharpie brand. The second two photos show my school notes. You can see the blue Hi-Liter bleeds through while the green and pink Sharpie brand highlighters do not. 1Good if looking for dark purple. But beware: BLEEDS THROUGH!This is a juicy dark purple highlighter. It works well enough, but for my purposes, it is not what I was looking for. I have been having trouble getting the correct thickness of coverage. When trying to get a thick line, I frequently have to go over the area twice to cover the entire word/phrase. Then when I turn the pen to use the tip for underlining the line is too thick and looks ridiculous.Ultimately, I probably won't use these 12 pens because they bleed through terribly. I often print my papers double sided in a weak effort to help save a tree or two in my lifetime, but these often make the backside unreadable. Also have bleed through my books. :(3Bright, neon green highlighterFluorescent green color as expected. Neon green color on standard white printer paper is brighter than other brand shown in photo. Tip is not as precise as other brand which is only downside. Overall a comparable product with a slightly better price point.4Correct color, but...I know Sharpie's to be better than Avery with yellow fluorescent highlighters but this is so faint that it looks like you are almost out of ink. I bought Orange in Avery because Sharpie does not sell just fluorescent orange alone, only in a color combo and I only needed orange! It's not worth the effort to send them back because I live in the country but I may just give them away if anyone can use them. My wife can't see the yellow highlight and the other colors are just too dark for me. Very disappointed in the quality of the product.2
