Customer Reviews

These labels print really nicely and are easy to put on the CD These labels print really nicely and are easy to put on the CD, but the suggested design template isn't user friendly and required a LOT of tweaking. The design template was slightly off center so the printed image wasn't properly aligned. It took about 5 attempts to get it right, meaning that I wasted 10 labels just trying to center the image. Also, if you buy these labels make sure you format the discs before applying the labels. I labeled the discs first and about half of them wouldn't format and are now useless. I ultimately ended up with about 40 labels from the 100-count package, but they do look really nice. 3Labeled for INK JET but they work great in my color LASER printer too Bought these because the price was good, but did not pay close attention (like I normally do) to the actual product. These labels clearly state for INK JET and I do not have an ink jet printer. BUT, they work splendidly in my color laser printer and produce great color labels. I am very happy with them. 5I used them for DVDs and never had a problem. I've made backups of movies, music, important files, etc. As long as you get the Avery Labeler Avery CD/DVD Label Applicator ( 5699 ) you're golden. The labeler helps you put them on the perfect center so no spin weighting occurs when watching a 2-hour long movie. Plus they stand up to laser and friction heat just fine. I've never had a label come loose or curl. 5New slick finish doesn't print well I've been using Avery Matte White CD Labels 8691 for a few years now and have been very happy with the product. Just reordered and this latest batch has a new slick finish. It doesn't print nearly as well as the old finish, which was a little rough and could grab the ink. This results in a loss of image detail. The ink just sits on top of the label and is prone to smearing. I had excellent results with the rougher surface and am very disappointed with this change in the product. I'll have to look for another brand now. 2Just what I needed Once I found a post that explained to peel the backing off the label while on a flat surface, using them with Avery's CD/DVD label applicator is a smooth process. Know that if you peel the label off the backing instead, it will curl and become hard to manage. 4Labels are good, Template not good. Good & Sticky Labels, but the Avery Template is just Horrible! You have to download the template, save it as a PDF, then save it as your project name, use Acrobat Pro DC software, choose edit, insert image, then stretch image to cover the CD in the template. Without learning and doing all of this, your color labels will have white showing around the edges, which is not professional looking at all. 5Almost 100% I purchased this for the labels on my CDs that I had made and I like the fact that there were optional designs you can take from. I also like that you can label the spine for plastic cases. However, you are suppose to be able to put the label on the CD labeler then put the disk on, but for whatever reason, the labels always curl up so I have to put the disk on the labeler first, then put the label on. Don't know. Maybe I'm not doing it right so the label won't curl, but I'm getting the work done nevertheless. Would be easier and faster if the labels wouldn't curl up. 4Work Great, But The Online Guides Are Crap When Printing! These are great quality labels for sure, but when you go to print on them do a quick test and make sure with something that has very little ink on it that the guides are lined up. We had to customize every guide we found online for it to work, but in the end all was well. Just a little empty on the ink! 5Wrong size Avery 8691 is supposed to be with the small hole in the center. It shows that way on my software, Discus 426, but when I ordered and used 8691 it had the large hole in the center. 8692 is shown as the large hole on my software Discus 426. This product is not advertised properly and is not usable for me because i need the small hole in the center. 1I needed Avery labels and could not find them in the store, Soooo... I went to my local Staples store to find Avery CD/DVD labels as I have a great many projects saved in Office Publisher, that I have had for years. I found that the store ONLY carried Memorex CD labels and it required a special (free download) software to be able to print on their labels. I did NOT want another piece of software which would add to the disappearing space on my HD and that would require me to reconstruct all my labels using their software. I then went to other office & computer supply outlets (including Office Max and Staples in another area) and found the exact same unacceptable brand/software of CD labels. EVEN THOUGH they had Avery brand labels for everything else! So, once again I found what I wanted on Amazon. These labels are not only of good quality but they offer several options for accurately applying them to the CD/DVD and templates can be found online that can be added to Office or Printshop if needed. 5
