Customer Reviews

If cables were a luxury item. These cables are the absolute best cables I've held personally. Where the cable meets the plug feels incredibly sturdy, and the threading around the wires is extremely thick. Take a moment and imagine if Rolls Royce made a cable. The cable you're thinking of is essentially these cables.Charging my LG G6 with a fast charger (that came with the phone) is incredible. I have yet to do official times, but a little over an hour is around 60-70% charge if not more. Cable fits very snugly in both the phone and the charger. As you know, this includes 5 cables: One 1ft, three 3ft, and one 6ft. May sound a bit ridiculous, but the 6ft cable is huge. Hard to imagine 6ft until it's in your hand. It makes charging so easy all over the house and elsewhere. The 1ft cable is perfect for the car. So short and extremely un- disruptive and inconspicuous. I was hoping it would be exactly what it is.I've let people handle these cables just to let them check them out and each person was blown away. I really can't stress how high-quality they feel.Of course, if I run into any issues this review will be updated accordingly. I take my reviews/recommendations fairly seriously, and updating my reviews is one of the first things I do. If this reviews is not updated, then the cables have continued to live up to my first impressions. 5Better than rubber cord The gist: great quality, one cord is so small it's useless. Otherwise, buy it.Yeah whatever they're USB cords right? This product is bought for my OnePlus 3T.I have used rubber cords for- I always used them. Then I bought these, and I'm not sure why it took so long.Pros:- when you take them out of the package, they aren't stuck in the shape that they were coiled in. It's easy to get the coil undone. P in the A for rubber cords.- the cord connecting to the charging head feels like it's actually in there. Good sign of quality.- they're not - as- slippery as rubber tends to get, but they're still kinda slick. It's a pro because they're better.- the connecting USB head feels of good quality and doesn't look like it'll screw up while connecting.- the extra long cord is very useful.Gripes (very minimal, you can skip)- there's a small cable included that I was wondering why the hell they included. 3rd party accessories haven't transitioned to USB type C (which I'd imagine is the only use of a tiny cord) so it is bizarre that you get a seemingly useless cord. I attached a picture, it's a bit larger than the length of a piece of paper. It'd be nice if you got instead 2 long cables and 2 medium sized cables. Whatya gonna do right?I'd recommend the product. 5High quality cable at a great price! These are really high quality USB Type C Cable! You'll get 3 x3 ft, 1 x 6 ft and 1 x 1 ft cord. It can twist and turn any directions and you won't have to worry about a loose connection. I use 6 ft to charge my Galaxy 8+. I was using a 3 ft rubber micro-usb with type c adapter. You can charge your phone and have freedom of extra movement to use your phone while charging. Ignore other reviews about the short cord. You can use it for your power bank that probably came with a short micro-usb cord. I highly recommend it to replace your micro-usb! 5Quality Product I have always had a great experience with Aukey products. The nylon on the cable feels really soft and the cable ends are of some type of metal, (probably aluminum) and it makes them look and feel like a premium product. All 5 cables come packaged in a small box along with a user manual and an Aukey sticker. All 5 cables work great on a Galaxy S8 plus. 5Love Wow! Wow! Wow! The quality of these braided cords are top-notch! They are very well made and look so nice. They are sturdy and have a nice neutral black color to them. I have seen some reviews of people that didn't like that the chords saying they weren't very flexible but to me that just shows quality. Keep in mind that this is a USB-C cord and not meant for Samsung or Android phones it is meant for iPhones and some LG phones. It works great and I love the fact that they have different sizes that you get with this, the largest size fits all the way across my bed and it makes it very convenient. I received this purchase in exchange for my honest and unbiased review I am in no way affiliated with Amazon or this company. I realize the importance of honest reviews as they are part of decision-making. You can buy from this company with confidence because they do warranty their products and have great customer service. 5Very high quality! These heavy gauge, thick cables were of very high quality and are exactly what I needed for use with my Nexus 6p! The data transfer rates are good, as well as their ability to quick charge at 3A 5Great deal, High quality Considering the price of ONE USB-C cable at stores like Best Buy, this 5 pack is a killer deal. Not to mention, these are not your typical plasticy rubberish cheap Chinese cables. This set of Aukeys is heavy duty, durable braided material. With the different lengths, and the sheer fact that you get 5 cables, you will have a sync cable for everywhere you go. No more transporting cables around. One in your car, one at work, couple around the house. The cables are very durable. They are also a little stiff. Not a big deal for me. But for some it may be annoying. They are a good bit thicker than your average USB cable, so they don't flex quite as well. But with the added rigidity and thickness, they don't tangle as easily. In fact they really don't tangle at all, at least in my experience. The only other thing to note, is that the fast charge capability of USB-C may not work, with this cable depending on what you plug it in to. Plugging it in to your PC or standard USB AC/DC charger may charge it slowly. Not a big deal, really, but noticeable. It seems it may depend on the version of USB that you plug it in to. Im not sure the exact details. I just know some things I plug it in to charge quickly. Others charge slowly.Just keep your OEM cable/charger supplied with your Nexus or other Smart device. 5Amazing construction - great overbuilt cable This is simply put,the best USB-C cable I have ever purchased. This is not a standard USB cable, it looks like it's at least twice the overall thickness of a typical cable. This has many benefits as well as some downsides which I will discuss later. The construction of this cable is the best I have ever seen. I've went through at least a dozen different cable manufacturers over the years (Android and iPhone user), and have to say, this Type C cable from Aukey is the best construction I've ever seen. The connector heads are strong and haven't come loose or frayed from more than a year of constant daily use. The cable itself is braided, not covered in a plastic jacket like most cables. The nylon braiding provides both durability and tangle-free convenience over the standard jackets. Now, the thickness is partly due to the fact that the USB-C connector was designed to support the USB 3.1 transfer protocol which can demand up to 3A. While the voltage remains at 5V, the amperage was boosted to provide support fast charging technologies among other things. This of course would increase the conductor size, hence the larger cables. Now the description doesn't list the size of the conductors so I can't officially confirm this although the electrical engineer in me is tempted to cut one of these apart and measure the thickness. It seems like the only explanation for a thicker cable. Also don't forget that nylon braiding can add a little bit of thickness as well. See my last picture for a comparison to a Logitech cable. This cable also has a 56k ohm resistor inside so you don't have to worry about frying your laptop. Just an FYI, be careful when purchasing USB-C cables with legacy USB connections (USB-A, etc). Since USB-C is typically going to be used in applications supporting USB 3.1, be careful when the other end of your connection is a legacy USB connection such as USB-A which will most likely be running on 2.0. What can happen if your cable doesn't have the 56k ohm resistor is the device with 3.1 will try to pull 3A but older USB protocols can't provide that much. A poor USB C cable without the 56k ohm resistor will not be able to stop the device from pulling 3A and you'll effectively burn your USB connection on your laptop and most likely kill the laptop altogether. Sorry if that sounds confusing, bottom line, make sure any USB-C to USB-A (or older) cable you buy has a 56k ohm resistor in it.The only downside I could find is that they are a little bit harder to bend compared to a typical cable, but they're still plenty flexible. The extra thickness also makes it very hard for this cable to tangle. As a matter of fact I think you would have to try very hard to tangle this cable. In conclusion, this cable is incredibly overbuilt. It's thicker and more stable than the stock USB-C cable I got with my Nexus 6p and Google Pixel. It looks great, is very durable, supports fast charging, and will last you many years. Aukey will guarantee at least 24 months with their warranty, but given the build quality, I wouldn't be surprised if one of these cables will outlive your next 2-3 smartphones. 5Horrid Customer service despite purchase via Amazon Warehouse First and foremost while I do like this product and was recommended by a college which drove my purchase and received a good price for the set of 5 from the Amazon Warehouse. This review is mostly a review of the customer service from Aukey, and advisement to warn potential customers of "not sold by our AUKEY store" purchases. The cable itself is made with excellent manufacturing with durable usb heads and woven cord and does have the speeds for a usb 3.0 and while the one which were working did their job in connecting my Samsung S9 to the power block or the pc I ran into no problems with those operations. However, I ran into an issue with a few of the cables in which one out of box failed (3 ft) and another which failed after a few months of use (1FT). These cables are made for extreme durability so after my second cable failed I contacted Aukey support for a replacement. As I purchased these cables from Amazon directly a few months before the purchase of my phone, the return option via Amazon was closed and thus requiring contact with Aukey. The cables which I purchased came with the verification card for all Aukey warranted product, and despite misplacing my card I was able to register the product in my Aukey account without issue via my amazon order ID. When I submitted my request to Aukey however upon contact with a customer support representative I was informed via submission of my Amazon Warehouse recite that "This product is not sold by our AUKEY store. I suggest that you can contact the seller directly and ask for help."I have requested the review and contact from an Aukey Warranty manager and will advise if there has been any resolution in the future.12\3\18 Edit: Once again despite pointing out Aukey's terms on their page they are stead fast in refusing to acknowledge their products and have not provided the contact info for a senior associate. But at this time my ratings would be as follows for the overall rating of the product would be 4 out of 5 for defective and faulty product only after a short period of use. individual ratings of quality and performance (5 of 5) meeting my expectations in all functional cables.Customer service has much to be desired and knocks down the rating by points but for all the steps I've had to go through to simply get a "sorry we can't help" my opinion is they are substandard and don't compare to the customer service from other competitors such as Nonda or Anker. So unless you get a lighting deal or a promo code for these cables, do not purchase via Amazon warehouse or any other seller then "Aukey direct" for the bargain. Additionally I do not see the justification in spending the current asking price on a cable that has a greater than 40% chance of failing and a vendor that will not standing by their product, when other vendors will warrant their cables for life. 2Does NOT follow USB 3 Standards and lacks proper ground wiring 6 foot cable wouldn't charge my phone so decided to open it up and see how the construction of the cable was and as you can see in this diagram the USB-3 standard calls for 2 shielded pairs, 1 un-shielded pair and 1 power pair of wires, these cables are missing the dedicated ground wire! You can see in the 2nd pic that the ground wire hasn't been cut off or anything, its fully missing! They must be using the shielding wires for the Ground to save on running the proper dedicated ground! No wonder people are having issues with the 6ft cables charging poorly! its past the time i could return these cables but i certainly wont continue using them, spend a little extra to get certified cables as these are not up to basic USB-3 Standards. 1
