Customer Reviews

LOVE this stand. This is a wonderful product. I plan to get more for my collection. So much better to have near than to clutter up your coffee-table or cabinet (my bookshelf was FULL of books). I HIGHLY recommend. I placed a half-brick at the back based on other's recommendations but somehow I didn't feel I needed that extra precaution. It stands up quite well I think by itself and isn't flimsy at all-for the money it is a very good buy. Came FAST and well boxed. Cd's are visible and handy yet look neat and it takes very little space. I LOVE it. 5Great way to keep toddler hands off dvds Okay so these really are 26 dvd holders they have 26 standard dvd slots and then 1 double slot which either can hold a tv season or a movie with extra discs, you can use it for 2 separate dvds but they fit kind of loose in it. I use it for 2 separate dvds because I do not have anything else that will fit and do not want to waste the storage space. I already had one of these and went ahead and ordered two more so I could hang all three on the wall for my sons dvds. They are very easy to hang but I would advise going out beforehand and buying a pack of molly screws to use with it. These only come with two molly screws but there are four holes in the metal to hang them. I did go ahead and use the two that came with for the top to holes and then used the ones I had bought for the bottom. So needed a total of six extra for hanging my 3. An electric drill and a level are very good things to have but you will also need a handheld screwdriver and a hammer as an electric drill will not fit in it to screw the screws in. I only used it to pre drill holes for the first step of the molly screws. They are super easy to put up though it only took about 30 minutes to put up all three. I do really like them but wish they came with 4 screws instead of the 2. 4Love & Disappointment I received my 2 CD Towers yesterday, I was so excited to pull them out of the boxes and mount them to their stands only to realize that they were not identical at all, although I deliberately bought 2 of the very same products..one came with spaces the actual size of the CD'S all the way down while the other came with bigger spaces in between to accommodate compilations or maybe multiple CD'S from the similar artists I guess..I dunno, my point is "If I purchase 2 of the same product I would expect them to be just that THE SAME" makes no sense to return them as it cost a small fortune to get them to me in the first bloody place! 4Atlantic Onyx Wire CD Tower A number of reviewers here have had problems with assembly. The thing goes together quite easily and intuitively but it is rather exacting: all four wire columns have to be in precise alignment before the [upper] male posts will descend properly into the lower [female] receptacles.I'm not particularly mechanically adept and I got it put together in a matter of minutes. For using it with CD's, I'm completely satisfied: it fits precisely into the area I had in mind; it holds the CD's neatly; it doesn't take up too much space; it can be firmed up easily by placing a brick on the back protrusion of the "foot" of the stand; it can be wall mounted.Quite a bit to like and not much to dislike! 5Great! Love the styling flexibility! These do the job of organizing movies wonderfully; I love the flexibility of placement that these units allow when designing a presentation layout(see picture in customer pictures). 5Most Excellent CD Holder... Unlike some who have bought this item and rated it low becauseof it failing to live up to their expectations, I had bought this cd holderyears ago at a Walmart walk-in store. I knew that this product wouldperfectly serve the purpose for which I intended. It is very well constructed. But I use it in the laying down (horizontal) position which is very stable, easyto stack multiple units, and most important to me -> Portable <-. I have eight ofthese units and I have my music divided by rock, country, smooth jazz, and classic standards in seperate holders. Works out very well for me... 5 stars fershur. 5then taped up like it's bubble wrap Guess I gotta give it a star to write a review... It don't even deserve that... This is the biggest pos I've ever got off Amazon... (And i dont usually write reviews)First off, the box is gorilla glued, then taped up like it's bubble wrap...Second, I finally get the box open to see the srews are stapled to one half of the standThird, putting the two halves together was the biggest pain.. know why? Cause they aren't level.... Get 3 pegs in the 4th don't match up...4th after getting my husband who works on cars all day to get the damn thing to line up.... It now doesn't even stand straight....5th I try to put the single case DVD into the slot.... THE SLOT IS TOO THIN....6, the slots at the bottom are wide enough for vhs...Do yourself a favor, get a cheap book stand from Walmart and put your DVDs on it.... Less outta pocket, less bs to deal with and oh yeah.... You can put the DVD on the shelf the way you wannaThanks Amazon for the worst pos ever! 1Great way to display a large collection! If you are handy with a level and a studfinder, this is an unbeatable way to display your CDs. I bought 12 of these to display my collection of 400 CDs for $132. I screwed 2 strips of 1x2" oak into the 2 studs in my wall, and painted them to match the wall. Then it was just a matter of marking, drilling and screwing each tower into place - a little tedious, but what weekend project isn't? I finished off the bottom row with a shelf made from an oak plank I had left over from another project. The matte black metal looks great, and I love that I can read the titles without turning my head sideways. Of course the metal is a huge upgrade from particle-board units that fall apart after a few years. In 30 years, someone will buy our house and wonder what this was all for :-)If you're of a certain age, using CDs gives you a certain satisfaction and nostalgia. I play mine through an Onkyo C-7030 Compact Disc Player (Black). I've ripped all my CDs to Apple Lossless and I use my iPod when I'm away from home, but I still prefer the CD player for serious listening. And some CDs really do have good liner notes. 5Works great for thin-pack cases as well! I use "thin-pack" clear dual-dvd cases (7mm thick cases) and use them for my Blu-ray movies. I was curious if this 28-dvd tower would work with 2 dvd cases per slot and if it would support the extra weight of the additional cases (holds 56 dvd cases now). To my pleasant surprise, it works very well for this setup! The thin-pack cases slide in and out easily and do not bind at all. I have mine standing on a flat surface and it works ok with all these cases inserted. Though, it is a bit tipsy when fully loaded. If you are not fully loading the tower, I would suggest loading from the bottom-up (as other reviewers have mentioned) as it is a bit more stable that way if on the floor. One would probably want to improvise and fashion a more supportive base on the bottom if going to stand the tower on a flat surface or carpet. All-in-all, this tower works well for my purpose. I m very pleased with this product. 5Not as bad as people say It s a little sketchy like everyone says. But I m an OCD Virgo and if I can live with it, you can too. Just add a weight in the back. I use my guitar case and it works fine. Just don t put it in a high traffic area. I bought a used one and was slightly ticked off one of the slots was slightly bent probably due to the last idiot who got upset with it and repackaged it. Still not enough to lose sleep over. I d say it was worth it. Buy new though if you re gonna bother. Sometimes these sellers need to give more of a break in price for used I think, but that s another story. 4
