    Akron hack, despite a great product! At first glance it looks pretty good, once I got it installed (5 min.) I realized I need one for every car! I mounted this in a little jeep wrangler, for those who know is a pretty bumpy ride by nature, so I need to shorten the shaft by a few inches to reduce the shaking. Now this is not what your thinking (some kind of spiral, springy metal shaft) it appears to be an aluminum tube, and each end has a set screw. Plan is to use a pipe cutter, trim it down, and re-mount in a location conducive to the tiny jeep interior.Update and process photos to follow. Any questions about modification or other please feel free!!Wish me luck. 5best mount you can buy! looked at this and read reviews for a while. this item is great. fits my 8 inch tablet, 12 in tablet and my phone. not flimsy at all. I use this item all day every day. I highly recommend this product if you are in search of a mount. this one actually comes with 4 big and 4 small tabs will fit a variety of devices 5Awesome product!! This is a great product to hold your IPad and other electronics. Nice quality and very versatile with mounting options and a variety of size items it will hold. If you are buying this to mount using the bolt holding your seat on it may or may not work for your particular application using that method. I bought this for my work car because I didn't want to drill any holes but it would not work. I ended up using it in my personal vehicle to hold my IPad (with keyboard case attached) and it does great. A little trick to help minimize wobble is to put an S bend in the arm. This along with the U bracket included helps greatly. Used this holding my IPad to use GPS on a 5 hour trip and it did great. 5Be careful bending the rod The solid aluminum rod is nice because of its stiffness, but the plastic ends are easy to break. Be very careful when bend the rod to the shape you want. The plastic end the attaches to the anchor bracket split open while I was trying to bend the rod out of the way of the seat. I used to hose clamps to hold the it together which worked out OK.I combined the two mounting plates so the seat can still move forward. Using just the seat bolt anchor bracket, the rod is in the way of moving the seat forward. Attaching the floor mount bracket to the the seat bolt anchor bracket so the rod is further forward allows for the seat to be easily adjusted forward.Even with the included pipe clamp, the mount is still bouncy. The pipe clamp does reduce the movement a lot, but depending on where you can attach it, it does not eliminate it altogether.My package was mislabeled: it was the cell phone holder and not the tablet holder, so Amazon had already credited me the cost instead of doing any kind of return before it broke. As such, requesting a replacement is mote. 3Perfect! I spend a lot of time in the mountains and back country of the southwest. I use a tablet for navigation and tracking my travels. The large screen makes it much easier to see fine details on maps and Google Earth images. This holder is perfect for the rough conditions I encounter. Installation was a snap. Only took 10 minutes total, including reading the instructions and selecting the right combo of holder legs for my LG tablet. The unit is well designed and well made. The rod inside the gooseneck is solid aluminum. Very solid. Some people may complain that it's difficult to bend to the correct position for their vehicle. That's a reason why the product doesn't vibrate much. The various options for installing it should accommodate any vehicle. I do suggest measuring the distance from the mounting point to where you want your tablet to be. I was going to order the 18" unit, but after checking where things would end up in my SUV I realized that 18" would be too short. The 22" unit was just right. The vendor got the item to me in 4 days with standard shipping, another plus! So I got a great product with great service at a fair price. It doesn't get any better! 5Solid, Gets the Job Done This thing is incredibly solid. I use it in my jeep wrangler for search and rescue. I regularly hit off road areas and count on this to hold my iPad solididly with all my mapping software. If there's any downside, I wish the arm was just a few inches longer, but that's mostly just due to where I had to mount it, which wasn't optimal. It grabs very solidly and doesn't bounce too much. If you need a product to do that kind of job, this will get it done. 5Great for the price. Stop writing snippy reviews because it s not perfect! There s a slight vibration BECAUSE ITS ATTACHED TO A MOVING VEHICLE! I used some tension from rubber bands to keep it snug against the center console and it is more than fine. Dodge Ram 2017. This isn t going to have a self leveling gyro in it, so get over it. It s sturdy. It s easy to install. It s easy to remove when needed. Doesn t block a passenger. 5The Quintessential iPad Floor Mount Very sturdy gooseneck. Excellent spring-loaded clamping. Fit my iPad cloaked in an Otterbox case without issue. Subject to shaking, which was solved using zip-ties. Took 5 minutes to install, another 5 minutes to diagnose and correct the shaking, and 5 minutes to figure out I was using the wrong "feet" to grip my iPad. Overall, very pleased with it. If it breaks I'll buy another one just like it. 5Surprisingly, great quality for the price. Surprisingly, a great product of high quality for the price. I was very happy with the install, and it is rock solid in my Off Road King Ranch build. It holds my 12.9" Ipad no problem and could hold a bigger tablet if they made one. Glad I bought this, has been a valuable addition to our off roading truck.Namaste,Parker 4Heavy Mount but Weak Parts What is the point of bolting a mount to the truck floor for strength when the base is nothing but a cheap plastic tube? This thing broke in half the very first time I tried to adjust it and the flexible metal arm came out of the socket. Now I had to eat crow after telling all the guys about my great tablet mount! 1
