Love this Fan I needed a very quiet fan to help push some hot air away from a Tube Audio Amplifier in my bookshelf. I bought 2 other USB powered fans on Amazon, one described as Ultra Quiet, and the other "Whisper Quiet". Both of them were loud enough to be heard over the music coming out of my speakers at volumes enough to be heard down the hall. In desperation, I thought about a computer case fan, and bought this. This is indeed "ultra quiet". If I close my door, and if the AC/Heat is off, I can barely hear this if I am standing right next to it. Once anything else happens in the room, any sound created by this fan vanishes. Because I am not running it in a computer case, I needed to buy a 12v power supply, but Amazon sells those, and they can control 2 fans. I now have a fan that turns on when I turn on the stereo, and it cannot be heard even at low music volumes. This one is a good size (140mm), but its perfect for my needs. I might buy a smaller one and mount it to the bottom of the shelf above my amp, with this one sitting on the side. 5Decent. Expected more. I won't deny these spin very slowly and are very quiet while doing so. Slowest read from my motherboard is 326 RPM and I can't hear them at all. These speeds don't move any air though, so I have to ramp them up a little. Easiest thing to do because they're PWM, and they being moving a considerable higher amount of air without increasing noise at all.Problems:-At 60% fan speed (either in motherboard or through speedfan), these begin making a very loud hum which doesn't get any better as I ramp speeds up. Not a big problem, I don't require them to ramp up quite often nor to move that amount of air, but it might become a problem when summer hits this part of the globe or when my CPU + GPU are both working overtime.-The screws that came within the box don't all do their job. I had no problems screwing these fans into my case, but some of them gave me this issue where if I turned them a bit too much, they would give my wrist a bit of resistance... which would slowly fade and just continue on turning forever. These screws are good to "hold in place" as opposed to put pressure on the frame and keep it from creating vibration.-The cables are very basic (not sleeved/braided/etc) and might be too short if your case is larger than ATX. I had no trouble with these cables in my H440, but it's a rather small case so YMMV.-If put in pull configuration, make sure you have enough clearance in your case. The fins come extremely close to touching the frame of the case, but then again, it speaks poorly about a case which gives you the option to place 140mm fans but plans it as a 120mm layout. See the pictures to know what I mean.It was kind of a blunder imo. I might have to specifically buy the model branded as "SILENT" next time I want a really silent case fan. 4Amazing fans. I refuse to run anything other than ... Amazing fans. I refuse to run anything other than Arctic PWM fans in my builds. Noctua is not only significantly more expensive, but looks worse (Arctic cables are unfortunately unsleeved, so Noctua has that going for them), and does not perform any better. Arctic fans are always dead silent (when they do ramp up high, all you hear is the sound of air flowing) and actually may perform slightly better than Noctua. I've had both Noctua and Arctic fans in my cases and prefer Arctic due to aesthetic, performance, and cost. Also, these fans work very well for water cooling applications. Of the many water-cooled builds I've used these on, they have kept my temperatures and sound levels very low. I have six of these 140s running on a 420mm radiator right now at 60% and they're barely audible (only a whisper of air movement is present). Arctic is an excellent company. They also make the leading thermal pastes and pads, so it's no surprise their fans are equally excellent. 5Great fans with one caveat Review for F14 PWM PST COLet me preface this by saying, I like Arctic a lot, I used 3x F12's (not the silent series) in the HTPC I built a year ago, they are running 100% and are good quiet fans. So when it FINALLY came time to upgrade from my old X58/1366 system, I knew I wanted to go back to Arctic for my case fans. Personally, I don't care for LED fans. Still, I wanted fans that looked good, and that were decently priced, these were a no brainer to me. So I bought 4 of them.Sometimes pictures can be deceiving, it's worth noting that the color is accurate. Noise is somewhat subjective, I don't know what you consider to be too loud but these are quiet enough for me. I am using 4 in a Corsair Air 740, 2 running at low RPM and 2 running at 100%. Are they audible, yes... but the stock Corsair fans were way louder... these are comparable to my old Prolimitech Blue Vortex 140's (some of the best fans ever made imo).Cables are about 12in long (I didn't measure), and can be daisy chained together which is great. I bought a fan hub and extensions because I wasn't sure if I would need them... I ended up not needing anything extra. I have 2 sets of 2 on separate headers coming off my motherboard. Supposedly the headers are good for 1amp, and these fans are rated at 0.3, it's best to check before overdoing it on your fan headers.I have only one gripe with these, out of the 4 I bought.. 1 of them has multi-colored wire and doesn't have a sticker on the back. The wire is one thing because it's hidden, but the sticker bothers me. The back of the odd fan has a Arctic logo and some other wording on the plastic, the sticker didn't fall off it's just designed that way. It's simply a different version of the same fan, no way to know from the box. It's not a deal breaker I guess, but in a air cooling build... especially with a large window it's disappointing.Overall I'd still recommend these, they are good looking quiet fans that won't break the bank. 4Substantially quieter than Corsair's AF140 LED Quiet Editions and moves more air These fans move a ton of air for how (relatively) quietly they spin. The 0.3 sone measurement in the description works out to about 22.5 dBA, and the Corsair fans I mentioned in the headline sit at 25.5 dBA while moving 8 CFM less air. That may not sound like much, but it's definitely noticeable, especially given the tone of the sound. It's a much deeper humming sound than the Corsair fans.The attached video is a sound comparison of the fans spinning up to max speed for a few seconds on boot. There are four fans in total in each recording, including one 120mm variant of each fan. Recordings were taken with my phone sitting directly on top of my case to make the tone clearer. 5Great for performance PC that stays on These fans are the nicest I have tried. I recently bought an Antec P100 quiet case and wanted to replace the standard 120mm fan that came with it with 2 140mm fans in the front. I like how these fans operate at extremes. If my computer is sitting idle, they are stopped. When I overclock and run the CPU at 100%, they can keep up and help maintain a safe temp. I even like the fact that they are grey and do not have flashy LEDs. They sit behind the front grill behind a door, and the blades are easy to see if I want to. And, they are built to last. And, I like to keep my computer on, so it feels more energy efficient to have them off. Also, I did daisy chain the two together, so that was a nice touch. Finally, I like the price which is really good for a PWM fan with no LEDs.A few caveats -My Asus motherboard has an optimization mode setting that generates a fan curve. Unlike my other fans, this does not generate a good control curve. So, I simply put it on PWM control with a standard or quiet curve setting.I almost returned it because the fan was too thick for my case screws. It is 27mm thick and my Asus screws are 25mm long. After some research and a wasted trip to a PC supply store, I learned that these are also called radiator screws. And that I needed #6-32 1 1/4" screws, which is available at the local hardware store as a pack for just over $1. Also, even though the hard drive cage seemed to be in the way, I was able to install the fans without a problem. So glad I didn't give up!I am happy with this purchase. These are quality fans for less. 5As advertised I just received this product yesterday. It was delivered on time, and is exactly what I expected based on the description. 140mm PWM case fan with a 4 pin connection, not a three pin with a 4 pin molex. I've had that happen as well. Installation was straight forward, and while the fan itself did not have arrows for the exhaust air direction, the box did. This left the guess work out, and installation simple.After installation, I went into the BIOS just to test the fan noise at different speeds. I cranked the settings as high as they would go and did not find the noise distracting. Any time my process/GPU is under load I usually have headphones or speakers on. The little noise this fan did make at full speed in either case would not be noticeable. Some reviewers may be testing this in dead silence and therefore find it to be too loud. This fan works for me needs.For the price I paid and the size of fan, the noise at full throttle is very acceptable. For my typical web-browsing or work needs, the fan is typically not moving using my settings. Even if the fan kicks on, I found myself having to check while working to see if it was moving or not. Only at top speed could I hear the fan, and that was because I was paying attention. Any other heavy GPU/CPU loads which would have kicked the fan on, I would be heavily distracted and therefore would not even notice what little noise it did make.For air movement, it's not a leaf-blower, so don't expect that. At base operating speeds, and top settings I can feel air being pushed out of the fan. Some commented that this doesn't push enough air, but it was adequate for my needs. It's an $8 fan, so the product has more than met expectations.The blade color is a vibrant white. I do get concerned about what this will look like with time, but that will be true for any plastic. For now, it looks great contrasted with the case it's in. Build quality is nice, it doesn't feel flimsy at all. It would be nice if the cables had a shrink coating or mesh cover, but for the $8 I don't expect such things. 5Get Screwed I bought this as a later addition to my already assembled PC. The fan seems to work fine, but the screws are crap. They are also tiny. Because my case has an AIO Pump and radiator I have limited space in the area I wanted to install this fan. I'm using it as an exhaust fan blowing straight up out of the case. If it came with longer screws I could simply send a screw through both holes and be done with it. Instead I had to experiment with putting the screws upwards through the bottom (only managed one or two this method). So I moved on putting the screw in the one hole and finding a long thin screw driver to tighten it through to the case. The screw was barley long enough to enter this way and stripping ensued... and not the good kind where dollars are exchanged and someone brings me some hot wings and a beer.If you want 5 stars give me 30mm screws or at least screws not made out of tin. 3Quietest fans I've ever installed, and you can't beat the price for a non-RGB fan of this quality I installed three of these as exhaust fans in the top of an Ethnoo Pro case (new Ryzen 7 3700X build). They don't have rubber vibration-damping pads at the attachment points, so I used "Cosmos 12 Pieces Black Rubber PC CPU/Case Fan Mounting Screws Rivets" instead of the included metal screws (which are not black and so don't match the color of the fan chassis, if that's important to you). Worked like a charm--the fans are so quiet that I have to lean over and look into the case to determine if the blades are spinning.The three 140's pull a lot of air, and under normal working loads (not gaming), my internal temps are stable in the mid-30's. Even in a warmish room, I have yet to see 40C. It helps that the case is large and well-designed for air flow, plus I have other fans working to pull air (two 120s in the bottom and a 200 in the front), but for three 140s situated that close to the user to be that quiet--nicely done, Arctic! 5Not as quiet as I had hoped These aren't super loud or anything, but not as whisper quiet as I was lead to believe they would be. I'm running 2 of these as intake fans on the front of my box, one directly into the case blowing on the video card, the other blowing across 2 5.25 SATA drives (with an empty slot between them) and 1 SS drive, into the lower part of the box. I have a bottom mounted PSU which also feeds up from the bottom. I then have a 120mm fan exhausting from the top, and another 120mm fan exhausting from the rear at the top, and I am using the stock AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU cooler. This configuration, along with changing my bios fan settings to be a little more aggressive, has lowered my CPU temps by 13 degrees Celsius, and upped my CPU performance by ~15%.My previous setup was 2 120mm fans intake from the front and one 120mm fan exhausting from the back wall at the top.The purpose of this box is to act as a Plex Media Server, DVD/BD ripping station, which then encodes to 12bit H.265, and as my DVR and TV guide etc, and my main PC for all of my non gaming uses.
