Customer Reviews

You had one job, hook rack... ...and you are doing excellent at it. Mom and Dad are very proud. Ever since you were a baby hook rack, trying to hook fish, cotton candy, shoe laces, bottle rockets, diapers, and so on, we thought you were destined to end up in a land fill. But then you bucked up and said, "Screw you, world! I'm all about coats!" The transformation was amazing. You graduated top of your class with honors and moved out of the house into your own aPodment micro studio in Seattle holding the coats of some Micrazon employee that nobody ever notices but that makes enough money to afford said aPodment on Capitol Hill. You've made us proud, son. Now hold those coats up high! 5Nice Rack This coat rack is awesome. Package arrived quickly and was not damaged during shipping. Very sturdy construction. The hooks are a little bigger than they look in the picture, not in a bad way though. Dimensions of the wooden base 27" X 4" X 1/2". The overall measurement that the coat rack sticks out from the wall is 4". The two holes in the wooden base for mounting the coat rack are 16" apart. The only complaint I have is the hardware they send with the product to mount the rack to the wall is super cheesy. If you can find a couple studs in the wall in a spot where you want the rack, great. That would be the best scenario. If you are mounting the rack into drywall, then I would not use the drywall anchors they send with product, if you did, your rack may fall out of the wall from regular use. I ended up mounting the rack in spot where there were no studs and I ended up using snaptoggles, which ended up being just as strong as if I mounted the rack into studs, also had to drill out holes in rack a little bigger so bolts would fit through. 5 Stars!!! Great rack for the money!! 5Exceeds Expectations -- A great coat rack I bought this coat rack to put next to my front door. I was pleasantly surprised when turned out even nicer than I expected (and I read other reviews)Strength/Durability: I attached mine to two all studs, so it is very solidly attached to the wall. The hooks themselves are very strong and the wood is very strong. The hooks are also very stable and aren't loose or weak at all. We often have winter coats, jackets, and hats piled on it with not issues. I haven't tested it but it feels like I could just about hang from it without breaking it (not willing to actually risk it).Material/Finish: The material and finish was surprisingly nice. The wood actually looks better in person than in the picture and the cuts and edges are well smoothed and finished. The hooks are very nice as well, with a smooth, dull black finish and knobby ends to keep from damaging your clothing. Conclusion: You would be hard pressed to actually make hook rack this nice for this price. I got this rack for less than the cost of what I would have paid for the hooks alone. The quality and price make this hard to pass up if you want a wall mounted coat rack. 5Super and looks terrific When we moved into our house I didn't notice a few things, like no downstairs closets. It's summer, it's New Orleans, but we do need something to hang our jackets, dog leash etc on. This Amerock hook rack was exactly what I was looking for. The clean crisp white background with brushed hooks is beautiful and looks great on the wall. There are five generous two hook hangers. The two hooks are great as they can handle both a jacket and a coat, or sweater and jacket, or Izzy's towel and leash, or the guys sweat pants and jacket. This was very easy to put up and fits snugly behind our front door. It was perfect for our needs. I like the sturdiness of the hangers, and the little bit of a tip at each to help hold the clothes on. 5Excellent rack, would highly recommend to keep the clutter of clothes/coats/jackets under control! This is an excellent coat rack for our back entryway. I hung one set at adult-height and another set at younger children-height. It can withstand the rigors of younger children pulling and tugging at the hooks. We can have anywhere from 15 to 20 jackets/coats/sweaters hanging on the set of two racks, and the racks have held strong. Some pointers for installation: Check to make sure the hooks are screwed nice and tight to the wood board. I did not run into any of them being loose, but I did check beforehand because once you install the rack, and if you find a loose hook, it would be deeply annoying. I did not use the enclosed screws to attach the rack to the wall. Instead, I used toggle bolts that I had to purchase separately from the hardware store to attach the racks to the wall. 5Attractive and sturdy. (UPDATE) Just as the title indicates, I found this coat hook rack to be both attractive and sturdy. I am considering buying another one as my little house has no coat closet at all. The color of the wood's finish and the oil-rubbed finish of the large hooks make for an "old-world" look which I really like. As always, I'll update my review if anything changes.UPDATE - I decided to do as I was thinking about and buy another rack. You see... I've got a small house that's got a rather large entryway but NO coat-closet. Why? .... I've got no idea! The second unit was just like the first although being a stained wood product the wood's color and grain varies slightly from the first one. That's just to be expected from a natural wood product and it looks great next to the first one. Now I've got enough storage for my coats, jackets, & hats and for those of my visitor's also. 5Great value and quality I was looking to build a hook rack myself, and was looking at the same hooks that are used on this rack. They are also made by Amerock, and sell for around $5 each at the local big box store. While at the store, I hopped online and found this one. For a few dollars more than the cost of 5 Amerock hooks, I received a built and finished rack. For me, that ranks as a big fat deal, since I didn't have to put the time and money into building one myself. The only thing I have to keep an eye on is the drywall anchors--they are on the smallish side. I may upgrade them to EZ Anchors just to be on the safe side.Build Quality: Very good--sturdy hooks, and a well-finished mounting board.Fit and Finish: Well-packaged and it arrived with no dings or scratches.Overall Value: ExcellentSummary: If you need a rack like this, buy it. Install it according to the instructions. Hang stuff on it. 5Towel Rack is AMAZING This towel rack is, what can I say....AMAZING. First of all, it came quickly to my house, and the quality is very nice. It looks even better in person than it does online. Which, it looks nice online, but even better in person! It is sturdy, has lots of hooks, and I installed it in my daughters bathroom. We had a towel bar in there, but the hooks made more sense- and the color of the backing and hooks is really handsome.Installing it is a BREEZE. It tells you just what you need (but also I used a stud finder, and a measuring tape in addition to its suggestions). It comes with this handy little cheat on the back of the box that you cut out, level on the wall, and drill in the spots. I mean, how easy is that! EVERYTHING that anyone has ever had to install should come with this! Even those who aren't handy could install this. I consider myself very handy and it took me only about 5 minutes. It is a great item!! 5Great Rack for the Money - Holes Stud Length Apart Great Coat Rack. I'm not sure why it was so difficult to find a relatively nice wall mounted coat rack with holes that were standard stud-length apart (16 in). This one fit the bill and looks great. Contrary to what some have said, mine did not come with plugs to hide the screw holes. The screws however, were white to enable them to blend well, however, for a plaster and lathe wall, I thought the screws were a bit short. I bought longer ones at my local hardware store. Overall, a very handsome wall rack for the price. (One note, if you're used to prime shipments and have gotten a bit spoiled like I have, this can take a while to deliver. I ordered on Oct 20 and got it Nov 2 - about 2 weeks.) 4I'm hooked! This is the best set of hooks I've purchased. The hooks are nice and big and easily hold jackets and backpacks, etc. Best of all though is the spacing on the screw holes. They put them 16" apart so you could easily screw them into studs. I've got four sets of these up in two homes with two little boys that practically hang from them and they've stayed in place. The only weak point is the white plug they give you to "finish" the screw hole. It's not going to stay in place unless you glue it. I'd suggest just a little bit of a Glue stick so you can remove it if needed. 5
