I am pleased with my keys. Even though I selected this skin for a new MAC Book Pro hubby bought me for mother's day, I had two apprehensions about this product. 1) I am weird about texture, and this looked weirdly textured. 2) I like to hear the clicks of my fingers hitting the keyboard (I know--but I'm old school, and additionally, hearing the clicks lulls me into the false security that I'm actually getting things accomplished).About the first concern, the texture is a little different, a sueded gel-like feel is the best description I can give. Regarding the second concern, I hear less clicking and have decided that it's not so bad.Logistically speaking, the skin is easy to apply. It literally lays right over the the keys, almost perfectly. I say almost perfectly, because there is the tiniest pucker right at the bottom of the keyboard, but it's fine. I'm not complaining. The skin removes just as easily as it applies, that is, you just lift up a corner and pull. That's it. I lift the keyboard skin often, as I am always getting crumbs and random debris in it, but this stuff has yet to penetrate to the actual keyboard.Lastly, about color. Yes, it says green, but I would have to say that the skin is more of an aqua to dark teal gradation. The bottom row ends in a teal-ish, forest green type color--if anyone orders this color expecting a true green, I don't want them to be surprised. I give the product five stars, because it does exactly what it was made to do, and it does it easily. It's easy to put on and just as easy to take off (if not easier). It keeps my keyboard clean, and it doesn't slow down my typing. I am pleased. 5Neat! Works just fine. I like the fit around the keys and the texture is a neat feel. With the back light on and in low light you can see that the skin symbols the keyboard symbols do not align perfectly. I hardly look at the keys so this does not bother me. I have a 2015 macbook pro retina 13". However, when i am typing essays for school i like to take it off so i can type a little faster.---updated- i have had it for a year and a half now and i still love it. i am constantly pulling and messing with it absentmindedly so i am kind of amazed it has not stretched out or become misshapen. the color of the blues or the letters have not faded at all. at this point i am even more comfortable typing with it on than i am with it off. it is super easy to take off and put back on. my only drawback is that it tends to leave little smudges on my laptop screen (pictured), it isn't really worth cleaning it off since it will just come back the next time i close my laptop. this isn't a huge issue though because i don't even notice these smudges unless the screen is dark. HIGHLY recommend! it is so easy to clean, i am able to just take it off and wipe it with lysol or whatever is around and then rest assured that the germs are gone. fits like a glove too, i have also gotten a lot of compliments! people are always surprised when my keyboard is blue, even more surprised that it is a cover instead of just stickers/decals. 5Love, Love, Love This is the fourth thin rubber keyboard skin I have purchased. Yes, they fade with use, but made any other way and it would interfere with typing. But, the colors of this one are bright and true to the image shone. If you have pointy nails just be careful you do not cut a hole in them. BUT, considering that I literally wore the letters off of the first Mac I owned, it is worth buying these every 6 months to a year to keep that from happening. In my mind they are worth every penny. 5I'd be wary of this cover. Maybe I got a dud? 2017/08/11: Wife here to update the review. I loved this cover. Unfortunately, after about 7 months this cover expanded slightly out of shape and left a really oily residue all over my keys which I can't get off. Wondering if anyone has a solution for cleaning my keyboard without ruining my laptop??!! Not happy....My wife is always snacking or drinking when she works on her 13" Macbook Air and bought this after a couple of near misses. This keyboard cover came in very nice, sleek envelope. When we slid it out, our first impression was that the blue is a bit more pastel than pictured but it's very subtle and fun to look at. It takes a bit of getting used to the different feel in keys but once the cover "molds" onto the keys, you won't even remember the difference. 2Shockingly good. This was inexpensive so I took a chance but didn't really see how it could work, wow was I wrong. These fit over the keys so well it does not move even if you type fast yet it pulls up with complete ease for cleaning.Installation was basically non existant, just put it over your keyboard. The keys will feel strange at first but you get used to it very quickly.I deducted 1 star because of it's 2 flaws. Firstly, it's not a perfect fit as you can tell when they keyboard light is on it doesn't line up exactly. Second, and the main downfall is I got the ombre blue, the letters on that are black but they should be white or cut out because you cannot see the light through them. If you're someone who sometimes uses the computer in the dark or low light you best know your keys because you can't see the letters with this on.However I like this product enough I'm already looking for one with white/clear letters. This works very, very well. If you're someone who doesn't use your keyboard light you will have absolutely no problems with this. 43 stars for now I bought one of these from the same company a while back, and it lasted for over a year. Then I bought another one and it wore out within 4 months. I bought another one hoping that I just got a "defect" on that second one. So far (almost 2 months), and it's showing significantly less wear than the 2nd one at this point. If this one holds up for longer than the last, I'll update. At the price point, a year is a reasonable time for these to hold up...4 months is too little. So we'll see in a few months.On the plus side, no matter their wear state, they do keep your keys in good repair and, most importantly, keep liquids out of your computer. I "lost" a Macbook to just dribbling a little sweat off a glass before I bought one of these (no joke! Luckily I had a warranty that covered it, but I couldn't *believe* that just a few drops of condensation that I wiped off quickly would "kill" my computer!), and since then I've done the same, plus had a few more significant dribbles (not like spilled a whole cup on the computer, but maybe like tipped a glass too far and "splashed" it), and I was able to just turn the computer askew to toss most the liquid off then grab the cover off it, and no damage. Then I just set the cover aside to dry and all was well.I also like that they're easy to clean. Just pull it off, wash it with gentle soap, and let it dry before putting it back on. Much easier to clean these than my keys, with the same dirt my keys would otherwise see (from my fingers, home, when I stuff it in my bag, my dog's hair just everywhere). 3But do get it if you like things that look and feel nice Don't get this if you want to type at night. At least for the color that I bought (the blue/pink ombre) it did not allow the backlight to shine through, so I found myself fumbling for the keys quite often while searching through Youtube videos.But do get it if you like things that look and feel nice, and if you want something that protects your keyboard from dust and debris. The gel is quite thick and muffles my typing a bit, which might be a problem for some who like the sharp and audible clicks the MBP produces but I find the 'thud-thud' produced by typing with keyboard skins more satisfying.For newer MBPs this isn't an issue, but my machine still has a slot for a disk and has an eject button rather than a power button on the top right. Not a huge issue, as I find the quality of the skin more important. So far, it's held up well.From heavy amounts of daily use for the two months I've had it, it's only started to warp slightly on my heavier use keys. The color, however, is still quite vibrant and hasn't faded just yet. The ombre effect, by the way, is gorgeous, and the color is thick enough that the black under the keys doesn't show.When I wear through this skin, I'd be happy to purchase it again. There are cheaper skins out there, but this one has held up nicer than the cheaper alternatives with the thinner silicone and paint. 4Im in Love!!! fits perfectly, and it is easy to wash. Soft feel and many compliments When i was given a brand new macbook air for work, I became super paranoid about spilling my ever-present cup of coffee on it. So, a keyboard cover seemed like the smart way to go. I've been using this one for about 2 months and I'm pretty happy with it so far. The colours are pretty accurate in the picture and I get compliments from random strangers in coffee shops all the time. Here are my main thoughts on this thing:1. Material: The silicone this is made of is surprisingly thin and quite soft and even stretchy! It just flops right over the keyboard and positions itself with ease, which makes it easy to pull up and shake out when it gets a little dusty/crumb-y, or wipe it off when I do have the occasional spill. The surface of the keys have a slightly matte finish which feels very satiny and pleasing under my fingers.2. Ease of typing: Honestly, it took me a week or so to get use to typing on this. There is nothing adhering the cover to the physical keyboard, so I had to get use to some slight movement when typing, due to a very slight gap between the cover and the top of the keys. I found that swiping a damn cloth on the keys before placing the silicone keyboard cover in place created a little more friction and helped my typing speed and comfort.It's worth noting that having this cover on does slightly block some of the keyboard back-lighting. I'm a comfortable touch typist so it's not too much of a problem for me, but when I do look down at the keys at night, I find that It's hard to see the actual letters on each of the keys.3. I really can't stress enough how great this thing looks on on computer! I get so many compliments and curious questions, which is somewhat surprising - I assumed that given the very low cost of these, that they'd be much more ubiquitous.So, definitely pick one of these up if you want to make your laptop feel special and coffee-free! 4
