Customer Reviews

if you have fair to poor water pressure in your shower I'm reviewing my AKDY (TM) Bathroom Chrome Shower Head 8" AZ6021 Rain Style shower head.Note: I uploaded a photo for your convenience.I have owned many shower heads and have found this shower head to be an absolute pleasure.First, if you have fair to poor water pressure in your shower, this shower head will prove to be efficient. If you're looking for a massage and deep cleaning (easy to rinse long hair) this might not be the shower head for you.To those who are familiar with rainfall shower heads and those want to try one: i feel you will love this shower head. I purchased and installed an extension (a shower arm extension that is completely adjustable) so that this head could be placed in the optimal position inclusive of height and angle. The head itself has a swivel attachment that is fixed and works well.As for looks:The design is absolutely gorgeous and is made of plastic with rubber nozzles that allow the water to be distributed in a rain fall fashion.I uploaded a photo for your convenience.I highly recommend this rainfall shower head.Mike 5Chrome-Colored Plastic Broke After a Month's Use - You Get What You Pay For Don't let the price convince you it's worth it to try. While it's obvious from the description that it was plastic, it didn't bother me as I was really interested in how it performed for the price versus the material. It looks great even with the chrome-colored plastic, but after only 4 weeks (literally 2 days after the return deadline), my husband adjusted it while in the shower and the whole thing snapped off at the plastic connector between the arm (which we purchased separately) and the shower head. He wasn't doing anything unusual or putting extreme pressure on it--it seems to be a material flaw. So, while we can't get a refund/replacement because we weren't within the 30-day refund/replacement window, I can warn others considering this product to consider other options.Spring for a non-plastic version or another brand--this isn't worth the low price that you pay initially. I should have paid double the price for a metal version. I'm off to find another shower head now. Will pay particular attention to the reviews. 12+ years and going strong We love this showerhead. Maintenance is minimal. Our setup lets us shower together and we really enjoy the versatility. After experimenting with a double manifold and two regular showerheads, which DID allow to run both simultaneously (which was really nice), we opted for the current setup because the missus wanted an overhead waterfall showerhead. This thing requires some room to swivel and was too big to marry up with the double manifold, so I removed that and added an extension arm to a splitter valve. Because water pressure is no longer evenly split, we aren't able to use both showerheads simultaneously anymore, but we haven't missed it. We like the convenience of being able to switch the valve back and forth when we shower together. Plus, you need more space than we really have to take full advantage of two showerheads running together.I highly recommend this product. Your first shower with this will be the best in a long time. I rotate the hell out of this thing every shower...no problems, no leaks, not one faulty nozzle, even after 2+ years of daily abuse. Sometimes the nozzles calcify and create errant streams... that's easily fixed by brushing your fingernail over it to clean out the deposits. The errant stream will once again be uniform with the rest. Standing up or sitting down, I always love my shower. Be prepared to experiment like we did, it's fun and you may come up with a really awesome configuration. And don't forget the plumber's tape! 5Looks really nice and works. I wanted a cheap rain shower because after a vacation in Hawaii, my wife wouldn't stop clamoring about how wonderful the hotel's showers were. Their shower head was 2ft by 2ft. This one is about 7" by 7". Luckily, it's just enough for her. She said because the shower is small in our house, anything bigger wouldn't let her step out of the water to wash her hair. Go figure. At least she's happy.I noticed that the water doesn't flow out of it like the picture. It could be the angle of the jets, but the water tends to cling to itself and form a tighter spray pattern than it appears in the picture.Overall, I think this is a really cool looking shower head and it certainly gives the appearance of a higher end rain shower, but it's more of a regular shower. My wife likes it, so we are all happy. 4OK But Not What I Expected The product does what it's supposed to, it's just not what i expected. It also looks good, looks more expensive than it is. Seems solidly built as well. Came with no instructions or paperwork of any kind, but the connection on the back was easy enough to put together myself. However it does seem to have a small seeping leak somewhere along the top, but not enough that water is spraying out.My main issue is that i wouldn't really consider it a "rain" shower head. This is just a normal shower head made square. I was expecting a drip like experience (was in a hotel with a shower head like that), but this just shoots steady streams out of every hole constantly. Because of that, it does not really change my shower experience. If you are looking for a true rain shower head i would suggest something else. If you just want a big square shower head, go for this. Also, 8 square inches really is not very big once you experience it. I will likely return this product and shop for something larger that has a more rain-like feel. 3Luxurious Shower head inspires increase in Hair Wash Days Very easy to install and feels so luxurious to use. Am I in a spa? A fancy hotel? Nope, just my boyfriend's bathroom of questionable cleanliness. But I can't even worry about the man hair or soap residue at my feet when above me the shower head provides a relaxing rain forest waterfall... Perhaps the best feature of this product is how adjustable it is, you can have the overhead rain shower experience, or tilt it and get just your body like a regular shower head if its not a hair wash day. However, the former is so satisfying you will likely consider increasing your hair wash days, which says a lot, amirite, ladies? 5AMAZING I've never been more pleased with a shower head in MY LIFE. The water pressure is higher than I thought it would be and it looks fantastic in my walk in shower. Would buy again for guest bathroom. The shower arm was also purchased on amazon.com and it is:MODONA S Shower Arm with Flange Made of Solid BRASS Satin Nickel - 5 Year WarranteeThe shower caddy was bought 4 years ago at Bed Bath and Beyond, but you can buy it on amazon.com, too: simplehuman Adjustable Shower Caddy, Stainless Steel and Anodized Aluminum 5Product changes for the worse I've ordered two of these heads, once in early 2016 and again recently. The first shower head I have is amazing - I've had no issues with it in the 2+ years that I've had it. The shower head I ordered more recently, however, has some minor changes from the original product that ultimately caused me to return it. More specifically, the piece that screws into the back of the shower head has been changed in a couple ways. First, it's no longer metal (which is a negative, but I wouldn't have had a problem with it if everything else was fine). Second, it's been widened slightly (which results in lower water pressure coming from the head itself, though this might be a result of the problem explained below). The most significant result of this change is that the shower head does not fit snugly on the piece that attaches to the pipe coming from the wall, which makes it loose and flimsy and, more importantly, causes leaking out the back of the shower head. In fact, it's so loose that a minor tug on the shower head can actually pull the head right off the other piece.Overall, I was disappointed in the product changes since my original purchase, and I have returned my more recent order. 2This AKDY AZ-6021 8" shower head is a nice improvement. The old shower head must have been ... Most importantly, I was NOT sent this item on a discount for a review. I paid for this thing myself. I bought this because my old hand held spray shower head was tarnished and nasty. This AKDY AZ-6021 8" shower head is a nice improvement. The old shower head must have been low-flow, but I never knew it because it felt like it was doing a good job with enough water. This item seems full throttle. I wouldn't use the term rainfall but instead waterfall. In fact when I first got in I thought that I need to find a way to reduce the amount of water coming out. I'll be looking for some kind of in-line flow reducer. I'm sure this is using at least 1.5 times more water than before. I can shower a little faster since more water is coming out, but I doubt if that will cross my wife's mind :).This has bigger coverage than my last shower head. I feel like more of my body is under water at one time. This just makes for a better experience.Sure it looks well made, but how many shower heads really fall apart? It just sits up there and shoots water out. The only thing that happens over time is those little rubber jets get clogged. So this is no different than any other one you would buy with those little jets. The first time I used it there was one jet that didn't shoot straight down. Of course it ended up shooting right into my eye. I remembered which one it was and afterward took a tiny nail and rocked it back into the desired position. Resolved. The most important part is that this is wife approved. In the picture, the extension I purchased is this item: MODONA AC42-AS-Inch Shaped Shower Arm with Flange Solid BRASSUpdate: I've measure the flow rate out of my wall at 4.9 g/m. With this installed I get 4.4 g/m. I've installed MODONA Flow Contol and Shut OFF Valve, Made of BRASS and can now adjust my flow from 0 to 4.0 g/m. 4Exceeded expectations for making a professional combo shower head We recently bought a house that desperately needed new shower fixtures. I wanted a rain head but also wanted the convenience of a handheld . After searching and not being happy with what was available, I decided to build my own setup. I purchased the following 5 items and reused the original shower arm, just turned upward.Pasco 7103-C 1/2-Inch Brass Coupling, ChromeKingston Brass K117C1 17-Inch Shower Arm, Polished ChromeDelta U4920PK 3-Way Shower Arm Diverter with Hand Shower Mount, ChromeDelta Faucet 75700 Universal Showering Components 7-Setting Handshower, ChromeAKDY (TM) Bathroom Chrome Shower Head 8" AZ6021 Rain StyleThe Pasco Brass Coupler was very well engineered and connected the shower arm to diverter beautifully. The diverter appears to be metal and strong enough to hold the weight of the arm and 8" Rain Style shower head. I will say that the selector arm does feel a little flimsy compared the heft of the rest of the diverter. The shower arm was the perfect length and the hump and angle worked out perfectly, even when angled up 45degrees like I installed it. The 8" Rain Style shower head is the star of this show. It is very nice looking and flows water exactly how I wanted it too. To complete the package, the 7-setting hand shower is great for rinsing those hard to reach places, cleaning the shower or washing the dog. The best part is that I did all this for less than many of the other inferior "out of the box" options. All in all I am very happy this design and all the products. I have attached a few pictures in the customer photos section to help make sense of it all. 5
