    Five Stars Feels and looks sturdy. MERV 13 rating printed on filter. Fits well. Half the price of 3M.Ive updated my review with photos of old versus new filters. 5A must have!! I will never buy HVAC filters from a store again, these filters are top notch, you can't get this quality in a store. Buying a top quality filter has saved us money from running the AC all the time, I have noticed a cleaner house and we reduced our allergy problems. Plus they were much cheaper then any store bought filter. Hospital grade filters for your home. 5Home of 8 dogs - happy Ordered second time - still pleased with quality. Usually not excited over an air filter but we have 8 dogs and 3 cats. As soon as you open the box you will see the difference in quality. They almost have a velvety feel to them. They are pretty thick and I worried a little that air flow would be an issue but it hadn't been. I used a high quality filter prior to this. I put this in and out of curiosity checked it in 2 days. I'm shocked at everything it's already caught. They are a little pricey but we will continue to purchase these. In two days I can feel the difference in our air quality. 5Excellent high MERV filters These filters are an excellent value for the price. I replaced a 3M filter that cost about the same as one of these filters and the quality between the two is night and day. The filter that I replaced was rated as an MPR 300 which I believe is equal to a MERV 6. These filters are rated at MERV 13 which is outstanding in comparison. The filter material does look thick and it has more folds which allow for increased airflow. In the pictures attached, I have a new filter side by side with the filter it replaced.Overall, excellent filters that I will be buying again. 5Construction quality looks good, and in spite of comments from some reviewers These differ from the 3M Filtrete filters in that they are not electrostatic. But it made a night-and-day difference in the amount of dust I have to wipe off my night table every day with the builder-grade filters I had previously. Construction quality looks good, and in spite of comments from some reviewers, it is definitely not made small. Will definitely buy again. 4Too High MERV Rating? After receiving filters in the mail, I reconsidered, made an educated guess and decided I should not use this product. I have a variable high speed blower (Trane XV80 furnace with ac/heat pump). Furthermore, the age of the house (built mid 1950s) means the duct work is probably on the small side also restricting air flow. A high MERV filter would only serve to restrict air flow even further and make the system less efficient and, to read some HVAC 'expert' posts online, perhaps damage the system. My particular system's efficiency, especially the central AC, is predicated on high air speed/exchange.HVAC is an extremely complicated issue and I fell down the rabbit hole long enough to know I do not know, so I am going with a lower MERV filter to play it safe. I like low utility bills and things that continue to work.Update: Here is my latest thinking regarding MERV ratings and my variable, high speed HVAC system. I use a MERV 8 for day to day filtration, a MERV 4 during -20 or 100 plus days when the system is strained and effeciency is needed and the MERV 13s for short term, dusty situations like home remodeling projects. I live two hours south of St. Louis and do not suffer from allegies just to give you environmental/climate context of these decisions. Hope this helps. 5Poor Performance I purchased these filters as a new product following a good experience with another Amazon product that had a lower filtration rating. These filters create more noise than the previous product. They also do not prevent my allergy symptoms. From the time I inserted the first filter until now, 4 filters later, I have been sneezing and had congestion daily, despite changing the filter a maximum of every 4 weeks. At first I thought it just a fluke, then maybe it was a specific outdoor seasonal allergen, always trying to find another explanation than that the filter was not working well.I just ordered the comparable product that I tried and was satisfied with the first time. 130% Cheaper but the exact same filters I paid more for last time These just arrived and I replaced my old filter. These, although being 30% cheaper are identical to the previous filter pack I purchased on Amazon. Same filter media quality, exact same frame, markings, and identical dimensions. I have purchased 3M filters from HD and they were too snug (bent on insertion and ripped on removal) in my furnace and other Amazon brands were too loose. These are a perfect fit. If you are considering MERV13 for the first time, realize that these will need to be changed more frequently than the standard MERV filters. The amount of particulate removed from the air is amazing, but a clogged filter is no good for your furnace/blower. I live in a 3 story townhouse and do a lot of cooking, so the system fan is used frequently to circulate the cold basement air into the hot kitchen. Typically, I change these filters out every 2-3 months. 5Sold as 13 but really Merv8 The filters were sold as MERV 13, but the filters in the box were marked MERV 8! I would return them, but didn t notice the small print on the actual filters until after using one. Really disappointed 1Works great, sizes are small. Works great, but as one reviewer said, these are not the correct side. They are about a half inch smaller. These ARE NOT measured like wood, and should be the exact size specified. I can measure a name brand and it's the exact size. I probably won't purchase again because it's not providing the filtering required, as things can get sucked up on the sides. 4
