    Not a true 2 X 14 flloor grate Be careful. Description says 2 X 14. However it is actually wider (about 2 1/8) so it doesn't fir my 2 X 14 slot in the floor. Glad I only ordered one to try out. Also note that the bottom of the register is NOT metal. The second question asked under questions says the register is made entirely of metal. That is NOT true. Only the surface plate is metal. The bottom is plastic. 1They were seemingly perfect until they turned on their heat I purchased these for my son and new daughter-in-law's travel trailer, as a wedding gift. They were seemingly perfect until they turned on their heat, just this week, and now they have all melted inside the duct opening. The top part, the metal part, looks great but the part inside the duct is completely melted and twisted and will not open and close. The cover does not have anything to keep it over the floor opening. I am so embarrassed. When I bought them it was warm weather and they did not have to run their heat. The 30 days to return them is past so now I am left with having to buy some more floor registers from a different company.I have purchased thousands of dollar worth the products from Amazon,and have always been very pleased with the products and service. I hope Amazon will consider not carrying this product in the future, after all they are floor registers and they are supposedly made for hot air and they all melted.Very disappointed from Idaho Teresa 1Measurements aren t really accurate The product looks nice, arrived on time. All is good except for the measurements. And that s because on the under side of the register that goes into the wall or floor one side has a ledge that sits out and causes the register to not be allowed to go all the way in and lay flat in the wall or on the floor. So one side ends up sticking up. Mine needed to go into the wall underneath my kitchen sink so I just ended up taking the whole underneath plastic portion off and sitting the top part into the wall opening and I think it should be fine. It looks fine. But if that ledge wasn t there (not sure why it s there to begin with) then it would fit perfectly. 3Beautiful appearance! I recently moved back into my childhood home when my dad downsized to a small condo. Being a 1922-built home, it is obviously in need of some updates and fixes, including all of the floor vents, which were installed in the late 70's. Once the new kitchen floor was installed, I knew that it needed something more. I searched for vintage-looking register covers and these popped up. I love that they are matte black and go with the gray plank flooring so well. I just love these and will be buying more when we get to the other rooms! Very pleased with this purchase! 5Good looking updated floor registers Ordered ten of these to update a few room registers on our main floor.Seem solidly built, not that they really get moved around after initially fitting them in. Each one fit the register holes fine. I think unpackaging the items took longer than installing them.Just as a note, the brushed nickel is VERY matte in finish. Some older ones I've ordered (from a different company) had a bit more of a shine. It was pretty obvious they were different in certain rooms so we had to swap some from one room to another and now you can't tell at all. 5Tremendous improvement in airflow! We have an older home and the upstairs was always difficult to cool down if the AC had been off. These registers made a huge difference! The grill pattern is more open, allowing a lot more air to flow through. The measurements were accurate and fit perfectly. The quality feels solid and as good as anything in general. With these, you can feel the cold air about 4 ft above or so on your hand.I would not get these wet or use them in the bathroom. I strongly suspect they would rust. A fast solution might be 4 or 5 coats of a clear spray lacquer?Overall, we are very satisfied. 5Beautiful functional improvement to our travel trailer We wanted a directional, closable vent in our RV, after noticing that one of the molded plastic vents that came with the new unit was cracked- apparently screwed down too tight at the factory but we didn't see that while at the dealership. So we ordered this metal vet. Very nice matte finish. Decorative work on the plate lets plenty of air through, while quality plastic blades in a nice tight array under the metal facia can be set to any direction or close tightly. I like that they fit just right in the standard RV vent and don't have to be screwed down, so if anything falls down inside I can pull it up and dump it out. 5A cheap way to bring value to your home I'm getting my home appraised soon so I am doing everything I can to make as many improvements as I can. These registers by themselves aren't going to add value but together, with a lot of small details, these will make a big difference. I can't believe that I overlooked the cheap, disgusting plastic registers that came with the house. For $14 this is such a simple upgrade. They fit perfectly and they are heavy enough that if you close them the air won't blow them off. I had stacks of books in one room to prevent this from happening. I'm so happy with this purchase. 5Beautiful and great price I love these. They are so pretty. I would suggest using them in low traffic areas though. We have a vent right by our kitchen table and that one got beat up quite a bit with heavy chairs on them and toddlers constantly pulling them out of the floor. (Our fault, not the fault of the product) But the one in our living room that isn't touched (much) still looks great. I bought a replacement for the kitchen and got one for our bedroom.
