  • SAFE, RELIABE BABY PROOFING PROTECTION: You'll be relieved to know that when an electrical cord is unplugged our plate has covers that slide shut automatically. Unlike many other outlet covers, our outlet covers are not universal because one size does NOT fit all! We offer a unique cover for each outlet style...one for standard outlets (with a single center screw) and one for decora outlets (with a top and bottom screw). Order the style you need so they fit and operate best!
  • SAFER, BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL OUTLET CAPS: No more struggling to remove caps or remembering to replace them. Your child is protected from electrical outlets and also from the potential risk of choking on caps.
  • SUPERIOR STYLING AND BETTER QUALITY MATERIALS: You know how awful it looks when you see dents and chipped paint surrounding your outlets. Our covers are slightly oversized to cover these flaws and also have stronger springs to for better long-term protection. Truthfully, you'll really never have to remove them because they look great.
  • EASY INSTALLATION: Remove your existing wall plate and replace with our self-closing wall plate. All you need is a screwdriver and a few minutes of your time. No mechanical skills required!
  • For Use With Single Screw (Standard Style Outlets)

Customer Reviews

Great concept -- work great -- through out those child proofing plugsWe never needed a better option to the plugs until our third child, and we tried several products, but these are by far the best option. My son pulls plugs out of the outlet, but we no longer need to worry about him trying to plug things back in. These work as described! They close when a plug is removed. Easy to use for an adult, but not a child. They are high quality and look great. Added bonus -- if you do not like the color of your outlet, this covers those in a nice white as well. We had ugly brown ones that are now hidden when things are plugged in or not plugged in. Good quality. Nice price. They even came with an extra set of screws. Should fit most outlets.5Good Safety Feature, but not the most practical In most of the outlet covers the spring that supports the self closing mechanism (which is the safety feature we liked about the outlet), is too strong and "pushes out" whatever is plugged into the outlet. Example: i plug my cell phone charger in and there is just enough tension on the charger from the spring that my charger is slightly pushed out of the plug, preventing electrical contact. This results in my phone not charging. You have to hold the charger in place in order for it to work. 2FIRE HAZARD They keep the baby out of the outlets but are so tight they squeeze anything we plug in out of the outlet within a few secondsUpdated to add we unplugged ou r ac unit today and found it like this. I'm so upset 1best safety for outlets ever invented! These are the best way to baby proof an outlet. I wouldn't buy anything else, they are so easy to use, nothing to pull out of the outlet just use the plug in your hand to slide the shield to the side and slide the plug in with one motion. Automatically closes behind you when you pull a plug out so even if something is plugged in and a child gets a hold of the cord it will be safe as soon as the cord is tugged out. I used these for my done and 10 years later I've purchased then again for my daughter they are still the best product on the market.5Can't Go WrongI just got this today and installed them today so I can't speak to the durability, but I was very pleased as soon as I got them out of the box. I like the idea of the slide-over mechanism versus outlet plugs because even if your kiddo unplugs something, they can't try to plug it back in, or try to put something else (small, metal) in there. Obviously the same goes for someone that removes an outlet cover and forgets to put it back in (other kids, visitors that don't have small kiddos, etc.). I really like that they came with the foam backing (insulation), which I read (in another review) is supposed to help with drafts. I also appreciate that it came with longer screws as the covers themselves stick out a little from the wall and need that little extra length of the screw to be secure. (I read in 1 review that these are supposed to go over existing outlet covers; that isn't the case. You need to completely remove the current ones and put these on. I also read that they didn't come with longer screws - mine did.) The covers are tough to slide over using your finger, which is exactly what you want these to do. I came back to Amazon to order more tonight, but when I saw some of the negative reviews about things coming unplugged or things that working right because it couldn't get a solid connection, I decided to try these out for awhile since my son isn't crawling yet then come back and give an update. But so far they seem well-made and priced well. Yes, they're a little more expensive than others, but you can tell they are well-made and it's worth paying an extra $0.50-$0.75 to help keep my son safe.5Love these!I run a daycare so I have to have my outlets covered with child resistant covers. I've had others installed that required you to turn as you put the plug in and it was recessed so it was hard to use any plugs larger than just a standard plug. These ones are great! You can use any size of plug that would work in a standard cover and the sliding rather than turning makes it easier to get your plug in while still making it hard for little fingers to play with them. They are sleek and not bulky. I love them!5We love these! We had bought all those annoying outlet ... We love these! We had bought all those annoying outlet plugs to keep our baby from jamming stuff in the outlets, but what we quickly realized is that it's a pain to take them out to vacuum, and then remember to put them back in afterwards. These covers are SO much better. We bought six for his nursery, and now we are going to buy them for the rest of the house. I read previous reviews, and I also wanted to add that I do not have any problems with things not plugging in all the way with these covers. They work just like a regular cover. I highly recommend this product. 5FIRE HAZARD!!! They work as intended. I was worried about open outlets if my lo pulled the plugs from something this prevents that.EDIT: i changed my 5 stars to 1 star. I bought these in February of 2017 it s now December 2018 and they nearly caught fire, I called an electrician, he said it was the outlet cover and didn t see how these are even legal from how much of a fire hazard they are. Now I have to go throughout the house and replace all the covers since I used these on all of them. I am so disappointed and upset I could have killed my whole family with these! 1Work Well And Do The JobThese are a good solution for toddlers that are able to remove standard plug covers. They are spring loaded and the child would have to push the spring loaded cover to the side and hold it there to stick an object in the socket. The spring is good and strong all the better to keep small prying hands out. The good feature about these is that when you need to use the socket, you just push the cover to the side with the plug and stick it in. When the plug is pulled out it springs back closed. The drawback is to do a whole house you would need a lot of these and that could get costly. I got 2 packs of 6 and placed them in key spots that the infant frequented. Our baby was able to walk up and pull the plastic protectors that just stick in the socket out at 15 months of age, but these keep her out.5Not for me. I took a chance and purchased these to put on new outlets in my grandsons remodeled bedroom and I m returning them. With this cover screwed tight to an outlet, the cover doesn t allow my common electronic devices with standard 2 prong cord plugs (without ground prong) to seat tight in the outlet. They actually push back out as shown in the picture and are loose in the outlet. A loose connection can generate heat and lead to failure. I did not try a 3 prong plug (with ground prong). This cover is an option to make a completely unused outlet more child resistant. 1Work great and look good too! These work great for curious toddlers and look good too! Some of them arrived a little 'stuck' in the closed position, but move freely once given a nudge with a flat head screwdriver. I ordered one pack and liked them so much I ordered a second to do more outlets. They cost a good bit more than the standard "push in" covers, but look and function SO much better. These did have a foam gasket on the back side to seal out drafts just like another brand mentioned, but these are cheaper. I haven't had any problems with plugs not staying in or missing screws as some other reviewers have mentioned. Very satisfied! No more frustration from the push in style for me!**On a side note: some of the outlets in our house were cream colored and others were white; we wanted to change them all to white to match, and these prevented me from having to install new outlets. = Very happy husband with a now smaller "honey do" list.5Good for child proofingMy infant is beginning to crawl so off I went researching child proofing options. I didn't want to get a bunch of those plastic cover thingies because they're so annoying to remove when I need to vacuum. Plus, what about outlets with plugs already in them? If they get unplugged, we'd have to find a plastic thingy to cover it. When I found these outlet covers, I knew I had to try them, and they're pretty awesome. Easy to plug in things and immediately child proof once unplugged. No additional things to mess with. Highly recommend!!5Perfect replacement for those annoying safety plugsUPDATE: I have ordered another set of these to put in my bedroom, I already have them in my kids room. I've had them for a while now with absolutely no problems. I'm not sure what's up with the reviews with burned outlets but maybe there were not installed correctly or there was another issue with the outlet itself, but they have worked great for my home. I'm slowly replacing all of my outlets with them. I just feel safer knowing my kids can't get into them. My almost 3 year old doesn't open them yet and my 6 year old just knows to stay away. I think because there isn't an open hole there, they have less desire to even try. My youngest has occasionally played around with them but doesn't realize they slide over so she hasn't been able to open them. I have another baby on the way so I'm glad I have these as ill have to do all the baby proofing again soon. These are perfect if you have babies and kids. So much easier than putting safety plugs in every outlet. They slide right over to plug things in and stay covered when not in use. This is my second order so I could replace all the ones in my older daughters room as well after I realized how much easier they are to use than the plugs. Even though older kids could slide them over it seems to make them less appealing to play with and I feel safer knowing they can't just stick something in it without sliding the cap over.5Best investment for child proofing yetMy daughter has become curious about pulling plugs out of the wall. I love that these automatically snap shut giving me one less thing to worry about. 2 packages covered all the outlets that I m worried about her reaching or having access too. I love that they aren t the plastic plugs that block the outlets because I ve read those can smolder. I also love that they are well insulated with a foam gasket. Cut down on some drafts I didn t realize I had.5Basically perfectThis is a great product, sturdy, well made. I probably won't even remove them once the babies are grown because they look nice too... My one complaint is that they didn't come with their own screws. The existing screws for the old outlet covers aren't long enough to fit the depth of this new cover.Edit: I found the screws that came with the covers So basically this is a great product and I'm super happy with it.5GREAT PRODUCT to baby proof the outlets without having those ... GREAT PRODUCT to baby proof the outlets without having those little push-in tabs that people tend to forget to push back in the outlet and become a choking hazard.Installation is fast & easy. Just unscrew the old outlet cover & replace with the new one. I noticed that if I screwed in the middle screw too tight, it made siding the outlet cover a little difficult. I tightened the screw enough that the cover was secure but not too tight that it made sliding the outlet port difficult (if that makes sense) 5
