Customer Reviews

Would not re-buy! I am not a speaker expert but I do know good sound when I hear it. These speakers are adequate at the very best. And I do mean just barely adequate. If I had heard the before buying, I would not have. I was not looking for a big punch or crystal clear highs, just something that was decent and would fit into my twenty year old truck. Well, claimed they would, and they do fit, but I had to leave the speaker grill covers off as the panel will not go back on for a proper fit. They look pretty tacky thru the panels, which I am dealing with, but they really are nothing to shout about. Would I take them back, Yes, but being handicapped, it is not worth the hassle to repurchase and replace. Not even average sound at BEST! 2Great stock-speaker replacement! tl;dr Cheap and awesome speakers provided by a non-name brand company, so very pleasing. If they blow, I won't feel too bad seeing as how I only spent $25 on them.I bought these to replace my blown stock speakers in my 1992 Ford Taurus. I had bought Pyle before (amp/subs) and was pretty confident, despite all the reviews of people telling me to spend an extra $50 on some name-brand. I have to say I am quite pleased.First off, I'm only giving these about 50 Watts each, which is about one-sixth of their full potential and they still sound amazing. I installed these before installing my subs, and was still really happy. Very full sound, the treble and bass are both very loud. Not lacking anywhere.Installation was ez pz, came with everything I needed. In fact, didn't need anything that came with them. I just clipped the old wire in the car and soldered the wires on, placed them in their seating in the back and screwed them in! Powered right up! 5Good for stock speaker replacements Work good on a stock stereo. If you're powering these, look elsewhere. That 300W max is a pipe dream. Would only buy again for a beater car with absolutely no aspirations of good sound, or graduating past the stock stereo deck. You get what you pay for definitely applies here. 2Well worth the money! I installed 4 of these in my 1997 Ford F150 extended cab. Speakers bolted right up no problem. They came with a fair amount of wire with the connectors on the end. I cut the factory connectors off my truck and soldered the supplied wires on so I could use the connectors. Worked great.I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and sound quality. They do not feel or sound like $100 speakers, but they don't seem cheap either. These were a huge upgrade from the stock speakers and actually put out a decent amount of bass given the size.Just remember, these are $17 speakers. You get what you pay for. In this case, I would say you may even get a little more. If you are an audiophile or someone who is cranking the stereo to 100 every time you get in the car, these are not for you. But if you are someone that wants a decent sounding stereo on a really tight budget, these are definitely for you. I think you would have a hard time finding another set of speakers that beat the price to quality ratio. 5Budget Price, Budget Performance. Pros: Good midrange and high response. Very low price.Cons: Very poor low-frequency response. NOT suitable as a 6x8. Inefficient. For audio performance, they're not bad. I seriously doubt the stated sensitivity of 90db, and the bass response was very poor. These would definitely need to be paired with a small amplifier preferably with a crossover and ideally a subwoofer. In that case, they would be a good investment as part of a budget audio system. As far as installation goes - these were advertised as being 5x7 or 6x8. The latter assumes that you use the oversized grills to fill the gap. Let me tell you now that that is not an option. If your vehicle calls for 6x8 speakers, do yourself a favor and order actual 6x8 speakers, or a 6" speaker and a mounting adapter. (Oblate speakers tend to have more distortion than round speakers of the same diaphragm material. This shows up mainly at higher SPL's where the mechanical stresses on the cone cause deformation. 90% of people don't even notice, but if you run with audio snobs, it will be an issue.) 4Better speakers if you have the right source of music Ill tell you right now these speakers are 3x better than stock, using my current radio (dont remember the name) with the EQ turned to max bass, my stock ford speakers did a really good job but got fuzzy and muffled if it was too loud or too much bass but it was very good. These new Pyle speakers sounded exactly the same, a little disappointed at first, but my radio doesn't put out a lot of bass so I bought a bass booster app for my iphone to play music from and act as an amplifier. The bass was amazing!!! absolutely awesome! And that same bass app wont work with any other speakers (tried them with my dad's stereo system was so muffled couldn't here any music) its been a month and hasnt blown anything and dont expect it to. Heres a good example of how impressive he was, I got my grandfather and cousin who owns two sub woofers in his car ($100 a piece) to sit in my car and listen. They were so impressed they thought i had bought subwoofers. They could barely believe i paid $20 for two speakers. For the money you cannot beat these, just make sure you have a source of music that puts out a lot of bass so you can feel the real difference between stock speakers, the bass booster app I used is called "Bass Boost" runs for $2 in the app store 5Work perfectly in 1999 Ford Ranger. Used these to replace the factory speakers in a 1999 Ford Ranger. Used the same factory stereo that came with the vehicle. No amplifiers or anything like that. These are a 100% improvement over the old and worn out speakers. They provide clear and neutral sound. Bass is in the medium range. If just looking for an upgrade over the factory speakers and don't really want something high powered, then these are good and inexpensive.Very easy to install and fit perfectly. I looked up a video online for instructions and didn't really use it. I also used the Metra connectors and they are easy and perfect. Expect an upgrade and you will get it with these and for a good price. 4Great speakers for the money. I have only had these installed for about a month but i have no complaints at this time. Used as door speakers in a mid range system and they seem to be performing well. Also a much larger magnet then the "300 watt" speakers i replaced with these. From what i found they seem to be the best bang for your buck. Great price point from a good name brand. 5Decent speakers, a good value Speakers are good for the value, decent sound. Not a high end, you get what you pay for. So if you are budget minded and just want to listen to the radio at a normal range then these will be ol, you are expecting crystal clear high volume then you may want to invest in a complete new system and higher quality sound system. They just took well over a week to arrive. UPS smart post , UPS delivered to the wrong post office and added several days to arrive since they had to go back to a sorting facility and transferred to the correct location, then of course I had to go and pick them up at the post office during business hours. For me Smart post is a hassle 5Best boom for the buck! These Speakers sound pretty dang good for the price paid for them. I used to work in car audio install, and swore by Polk audio for the most part, but bought a beater car and wanted to at least have something in it, so I got these and a used Pioneer deck, and wow I was extremely surprised at the quality! The speakers themselves are built well, and are made of the same types of materials seen in the higher end speakers. The look and feel great, and most importantly they sound great. They have a very good low range, and high range, sadly the mid range is lacking a bit, but certainly not more than i expected. I also bought a set of 5.25 round and they did not sound quite as good as these, which is what I expect anyway as almost all speakers are that way. (Bigger is often better, in car audio)The cons: The speakers are pretty bulky, and the mid and tweeter stick out much farther than on any other speakers I ve seen, also the protectors they came with were also very bulky and unattractive, so because of these 2 things I had to make some minor alterations to my vehicle so that they would fit, had the speaker guards been more attractive, I would have just mounted them with a spacer and used the guards instead of the OEM covers. An addition the speakers sticking out a lot they are also much wider than the holes cut for them, as other speakers I tried fit in the holes just fine, but with these I had to shave some plastic off, set them in slightly angled, and snip off several of the screw supports on the speakers. The cons did not effect my rating because of how ridiculously cheap these speakers were, and how great they actually sound, another bonus was that they came with speaker wire, and template to cut holes bugger (likely because they know that they take up more space than they are supposed to. 5
