Small fits me (adult woman) perfectly I ordered this "small/child-size" mask after trying the medium. I'm an adult woman with a face I always thought was normal-sized. The medium was so big on me, though, that the nose area seal actually came up into my lower eyelids and even a bit into my eyeball....so yeah, had to try the small. When they say the medium fits 80% of "people", 3M probably means 80% of men. The small looked tiny when I opened the box and looked at the face seal area, so let's just say I was skeptical. But when I put it on my face, I was so surprised to find that it was a perfect fit. The seal was excellent, and the mask was comfortable. The medium is now my husband's mask and the small is mine. If you have tried a medium and it doesn't feel right, definitely give the small a try -- it's not just for kids! 5Good fit even on large head with beard. After several asthma attacks and a bout with pneumonia, this respirator has made it possible for me to work in my shop again. I use cyclones for dust removal and previously had been using high end 3M throw away dust masks. The fit is good, even over a short beard. I rigged a wire harness to hold a pair of glasses since wearing the glasses allowed air leakage and the arms pressed into the side of my face. 5Best mask I've ever used. This mask is perfect. It fits my large face and never fogs no matter what activity I use it for. I've used it for all sorts of tasks: working in a dusty, moldy crawlspace, spraying paint, turning wood on a lathe, demo on old lathe an plaster walls, and spreading sulfur in my yard. Just swap the filters out to the appropriate filters for the task at hand and you're good to go. It's very comfortable. It's great to not have a nose full of dust/fumes and burning eyes when I work. I have several half masks and no longer use them as -- even for a task where a half mask and some safety glasses/goggles would suffice -- I'd rather use this mask. 5Comfortable, effective, wide field of view, uncomplicated This is a great face mask. I work in a shop that is always grinding metal, sanding foam and carbon fiber, and its dusty! This face mask has cut all that out, i dont smell a thing and even after hours of use my head is not bothered in the slightest. The strap system makes adjustments very simple and easy to don and doff. I ve also used it for lathe work and was sanding with 2000 grit and couldn t believe how nice it was to not be inhaling dust and especially not having it in my eyes either!Only problem I ve felt is that after extended periods of use i can feel my neck getting sore from the extra weight and possibly its forward weight distribution. 5High quality mask with issues Unfortunately, I trusted Amazon and 3M to include helpful and complete information in the product description.Missing in the product description is...1. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR USE BY PEOPLE WHO MUST WEAR GLASSES!2. YOU MUST PURCHASE FILTERS SEPARATELY. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT INCLUDE FILTERS!If I took the time to read the feedback--especially the one, two and three star feedback--I would have learned that this face mask will not seal properly when a person is wearing glasses. I would have also learned that this respiration mask does not include respiration filters. At one level, that makes sense--the customer should purchase filters specifically designed to handle the hazards of the environment in which they will be working. However, it does NOT make sense that a warning regarding the lack of filters (in bold and in caps) is not provided somewhere at the top of the product description. Generally, the mask seems to be of high quality. Some reviewers mentioned that the mask's head straps are the product's achilles heel. Those straps should have a quick connect/disconnect feature. Without a quick connect/disconnect feature, the straps may be overstretched when putting the mask on, or taking it off. 1Five to one over the half face mask We ordered "hers" (6800 medium) and "his" (6900 large) full-face protective masks after a lot of research. To save customers a lot of legwork, here is the info. you need:#1 Having had experience with half masks and goggles, it is a no-brainer to go with the full mask. Not only are your eyes as important as your lungs, but reading the specifics on particulates protection, the full mask gives 5 times more protection. That s according to 3M. Properly fitted and with the proper filter, there are no odors entering the mask.#2 These masks are sized by series number to fit your face. And they do fit your face! Very comfortable,have a great seal, and do not fog-period. We found that initially fitting the mask, the two straps are adjusted over the top of the head to seal the forehead area. The two at the jaw are then adjusted to seal the lower face. Once done, the easy release lower tabs can be released and the mask removed over the top of the head. But always make sure the mask fits properly before entering the area.#3 These masks do NOT come with filters. For your particular application, type in "3M 6000 series face mask" which takes you to the 3M site with a complete user manual, safety instructions, and specifics for filters applicable to your needs. This is clear and concise information worth a few minutes of reading time. Don t fudge here, if you need two different styles of filters, get them up front. We are talking about your health. The second critical point is to make certain that the filters seat and twist in until you hear a click. The round pink fiber filters may give you the most concern, but with care, they are pretty sturdy and will seat.#4 3M offers for about $25.00 a 25 pack of face-shield protectors that statically adhere to the face shield. One sample comes with the mask. Having tried it, they are worth the investment. There is no difference in vision when they are applied. The mask itself is not cheap and will last a very long time. A replacement lens is about $25. If you are working in any type of environment that will coat the lens or flying debris , most often the conditions you will be working in, it is economic sense to use them. 5Great fit, comfortable, no leaks. I don't wear a medium anything, but based on reviews went with a medium and it's a perfect fit. I wouldn't want it any smaller, but it doesn't feel to small. I am 6' tall with a big head (size 8 cap).I really like how this respirator covers my face and feels secure but not annoyingly so. I could never get the half masks to stay securely on my face, especially when they got sweaty. This full face mask stays in place and is very comfortable I waited too long to get this, it will make all my projects on our 110 year old house so much easier. I have attached photos I used to review a tyvek suit. 560923HB1-C) makes things like that way easier i thought working on my house doing drywall and crawlspace work was awful. and it is awful, but this mask with just your basic filters (eg, 60923HB1-C) makes things like that way easier. i smell only clean air, never anything in my eyes (even when working with fiberglass insulation or sanding drywall mud), and i dont even feel it (somehow it is more comfortable than even any half mask or glasses ive ever tried). if you gotta put your head in a really tight area, youll notice it makes your head is bigger, but so far it hasnt stopped me from doing anything. i really, really recommend any amateur or diy types just get one of these and stop working around or putting up with lackluster safety equipment. i can easily spend all day working my crawlspace and feel great when coming out.btw, i am an average proportioned male, a bit shorter than average, and a medium fits me just fine, although ive never tried a small or large. 5Great ptoduct - repeat purchase My second one. Just love the way this mask's visor never fogs up.Can use with any 3M filters, chemical, vapor, just plain P100s etc.** BE CAREFUL ** when changing filters there is a pink rubber ring gasket which goes under the filter at attachment point; it sometimes sticks to old filter and gets thrown out with it. Luckily I was able to retrieve mine from trash - learned the hard way.If using for painting, buy extra visor covers. These are great thin plastic sheets with perfect visibility that just cling on top of the visor. Can get a pack of 10/20 for $15. No, cling wrapper does not work - can't see well thru it - But OK for emergency use if no covers available when you paint.Take good care of it it lasts for years. 5Definitely recommend!!! Fits perfect!!!I have a small face with a square jaw that becomes very narrow in the front- mind you, I have trouble fitting into a regular small N95 mask due to not being able to get and maintain a proper seal around this area... So, i was a little skeptical at first purchasing this respirator BUT once I tried it on, it was great! I did not have to worry, there was absolutely no air leaks or broken seal. It has multiple adjustable straps that allow you to get it just right.Just make sure you order proper and compatible cartridges- depending on the job you are doing. 5
