The shower head is great. Good flow from both the main head and ... The shower head is great. Good flow from both the main head and the attachment. There are only a few downsides, and if you plan for them, they aren't really a problem. First is that the knob/lever on the main head to switch water flow to the hand-held head is a bit tricky to reach. Shorter people may have a problem with this feature. Second is that the lever on the main head to adjust the type of water flow is pretty stiff, so if you don't crank the shower head down when installing it, you will loosen it and it will have leak issues. So make sure that when you install it you torque it down really well.Other than that, it's a great shower head upgrade, works really well and was very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend it as an upgrade over your run-of-the-mill shower head. 4Major disappointment I thought I was upgrading from a Peerless 76950 that I've had for the past several years. Boy, was I wrong. I'll go direct to the Pros and Cons.Pros:- The mail shower head mounts close to the threaded pipe coming out of the wall.- Plastic lock nut could be usefulCons:- That nice large looking main shower head? The water only comes out of the outside holes when using standard spray. Forget about a nice drenching shower to get the shampoo out of your hair. Your head will fit INSIDE the "ring of water". Sure you can add a little pulse or fuzzy spray action to the ring of water to fill in the emptiness a little, but with the resultant drop in pressure, why bother.- That "patented" on/off switch on the handheld shower held. It leaks like a sieve. If you don't want water constantly dribbling out of it, you have to divert all the water to the main shower head. The word dribble is misleading. It's much more than a dribble. If all the other water was shut off, and you had to complete your shower using just the dribble, you could do it.- 30 settings. THIRTY settings. I think somebody added a zero. I count three. There's "ring of water", pulse, and fuzzy spray. Oh, there's another setting, but it's "ring of water" again. Pulse is pretty useless. There's not enough pulsing to even think about getting a useful massage effect. Then there's the fuzzy spray. It might be useful on a blistering sunburn where the skin is ultra-sensitive. I can't imagine ever using it.- Handheld shower head. Same three settings, and same three limitations as the main shower head, only on a smaller scale. 2Good Value, Works w/ Low Pressure I ordered two on Monday, they arrived Wednesday, and I took my first shower with one on Thursday morning. I have long hair, and it's definitely a step up from the stock head that came with the faucet set. Rinsing out shampoo is much faster.Sure, it's mostly made of plastic and doesn't have much heft, but it does seem to be engineered well enough. I might worry if I knew my water system was very high pressure or experienced hammer effects. Luckily, I am on a well system, and my pump keeps the water line pressurized between 30 and 50 psi. Thus, I am not worried about it failing from an overpressure condition, but I definitely wonder if other reviews that reported sudden failures stemmed from such factors.Perhaps because of my low water pressure, I had to remove the flow restrictor in order to be able to get decent pressure out of both heads at once. Once removed, they both have good pressure and flow, though there are still certain combinations of settings that remain unimpressive. After some experimenting, I decided that I liked having a little more pressure from a single head than the extra coverage of the two, but that reflects my personal preference and the current limits of my water system. I might try to bump up my line pressure a little and see if it makes a difference, but I probably won't mess with it; it's pretty darn nice as it is.My shower heads are mounted 7' up on the wall, so I bought an 8' replacement hose for one wand to use for washing my dog. The couplers on that hose are a little different than the one that comes in this package, so it only fits loosely into the holder. I still need to wrap it with something for it to fit properly, as it currently falls out with a little bump of the hose. Annoying, but it's the cost of trying to mix-and-match inexpensive off-the-shelf parts. The stock hose fits very snugly, so this is only a consideration if you are considering buying a longer hose. 5Very nice and versatile. Updated 5-4-17 The only reason this is not a five star review is because the item is completely made of plastic and I have concerns about its long term durability. If after months or years of use it is still holding up, I'll try to remember to upgrade the rating. In general, though, I like it quite a lot. Assembly was easy. It only took a little tweaking to stop minor leaks. I immediately removed the flow restrictors and I am quite satisfied with the water volume, both from the main head and the hand-piece. I don't use both together. Complaints about the hole in the middle of the spray pattern are unfounded; one of the spray options fills this hole very nicely without a noticeable drop in pressure. Overall, this is a very nice shower head. If it lasts it will be a great shower head.8/4/17 Update: After about ten months of use this shower is still going strong. I use it daily and use multiple head settings every time on both the main head and the hand piece so it is getting a pretty good work-out. I have nothing but positive feelings about this shower at this point. 5I like it, especially the hand wand I like it, especially the hand wand. I purchased this to add a hand wand to our shower and that has worked out very well. Installation was easy and the unit looks great. The wand and hose are light weight, the hose is very flexible, and the shutoff slide is convenient. The hose is a good length so that the wand cannot fall to the shower floor, it stops a few inches above the floor. When the hand wand is not in use we store it on a shelf in a wire shampoo rack under the shower head. That is handier than reaching all the way up to place the wand in the holder next to the stationary shower head.We are still undecided about the big 6 inch stationary shower head. The big head works well, but it flows more water than we need in just a small shower stall. It would be better suited for a larger shower enclosure or a tub/shower. We like our old Niagara 1.5GPM water saver shower head a little better (available from Amazon for under $10). The splitter valve has standard 1/2 inch pipe threads so you can mount any shower head you want in the stationary position.All in all I'm very happy with this purchase, we got the great hand shower wand that we wanted and at a very low price. 5It's more like 3 settings for each head I wish I could give this a 4.5 stars because the only real problem I have with it is that it's sort of misleading with the description of 30 settings. It's more like 3 settings for each head, and you can kind of leave it in between to get a mixture of two them. Obviously I knew it wouldn't be 30, but a few of the ones they consider different are the exact same things.On to the actual product though, I love it. I purchased this because my fiance and I take showers together, and we have different preferences on how we like the water. Our current shower head has very hard pressure, which I don't like, but she does. Our shower is also not a stand up, so there's not enough room for us to both be in the water at the same time. The fact that we can use both shower heads at once is great.The installation was incredibly easy. I'm not good with things like this at all, but it literally took me less than 5 minutes to have everything working with absolutely no leaks. It looks very nice, and kind of out of place in our current shower haha. There's a knob that has three settings on the side, one allows you to have the water come from the main shower head, one from the hand-held, and the other is from both at once. While this is really cool, I've found we only use it to rinse off mostly because even with our extremely good water pressure, it makes it very weak when trying to go through both. I can't really dock it much for this because that's to be expected.It came with everything needed for the setup, and even a few extra washers and a small things of tape in case of leakage. Overall, this is a great product, and I doubt you could find much better for the price. I will try to update this after a few months of use to see how it holds up. 4Fantastic Product Everything about this was great. The product has a nice finish and heft to it, which lent a higher air of quality to it. Putting it on was very easy. Just read all the directions, front and back, before you start, as they explain how to deal with any problems you might come across. Another note: make sure you put on some plumber's tape (which is provided) on the shower neck nozzle before installing the shower head to create a nice seal.The thing I was most impressed with was the shower itself! The water flowed very crisply and with good power, the different settings were pretty standard, with the exception being the Eco-Mode. That setting looks and feels a lot like a heavy misting. Before you knock it, I suggest you actually try it. The water feels a bit chilly from far away in this mode, but if you get close, it is plenty hot. I find myself switching to this mode at the end of my shower, as a good few minutes of this actually feels quite refreshing! For those of you with a lot of hair on your head, you might find shampooing a bit more work on this one.As for the mobile shower head, it works as well as the other one. It even has the Eco Mode as well. Switching between them is a breeze, and you can even switch it so both are running at the same time! My fiance loves to have both on, but regardless, having both on will decrease the water pressure in both, but is still more than acceptable. The arm holds up quite well next to the other one, though I'd be remiss if I did not mention that the holder moves fairly easily (it is supposed to), but a simple twist upwards once in a blue moon and the holder is perfectly upright.Overall this is a fantastic product for the price, and if you are looking for a very simple and nice solution at this price point, this is absolutely your best choice! 5The misting setting is annoying when trying to move the setting switch We bought this because of a new baby. This allows us to bathe the baby in a special tub in the larger tub. The separate wand allows us to rinse the baby (very helpful after a "blow-out"!) and the extra wand switch allows control of water while down on our knees. It's also very helpful for rinsing our hair and washing the tub. The larger head allows us to have a normal shower. The misting setting is annoying when trying to move the setting switch. You have to look up to reach the switch and while moving it, you have to go thru the misting position, thereby getting a face and nose full of mist. I wish it had been placed at the end of the switching cycle. We have sufficient pressure using our water supply. 4Easy install, good quality. I want to love it but...Two things, this unit makes your shower head busy and bulky and expected it so from the picture. With the wand extended to the side it creates bulk from the fixture to hold it but also ads a side weight issue as the plastic grip which holds the wand does not grip it tightly enough and easily rotates within its spot. Once pressure is on it may dip down you by 10-25 degree so just be aware.That being said, the rest of the unit was a pleasure to install and operate. Package with teflon tape to aid with the seals between connections and rubber washers were also. I like the manufacturer's attention to keeping the washers with the part they belong to, to make installation quick and decrease guess work. Although not rocket science to install these nice to have parts that you can manipulate in one hand while installing . The Plasti-Chrome finish seems to look fine from a new stand point and I will come back with updates after use and cleaning. I would say no harsh abrasive on this stuff.The performance on these units are directly linked to your water pressure so beware. If you have weak pressure, using both heads will greatly decrease flow.If you turn off the handle at the slide switch level, it will drip as the system is not complete sealed and water pressure from the hose will still drive it to drip. Using the selector switch on the the opposite of the main flow controls will stop the drip.My water here is not hard so I won't comment on calcification but if keep that in mind with these units and performance over time.Update 10/26/16 After about 30 days of use, I've had to take a screwdriver to tighten up the side slot to hold the handle as it would droop when the wand was placed in it and you try to adjust it to any other position other than straight up.Unit has held up well with twice daily uses.The main fixture can easily rotate backwards and seeing as the mounting hardware is plastic I won't take a pipe wrench to tighten it up anymore. I will have to say the plastic mounting to metal is where this product may fall short 3Quick and Easy Upgrade The Hydroluxe 30-Setting Ultra-Luxury dual shower head is a great upgrade to the standard single shower head. Its installation is fairly straightforward and simple a really doesn't require any tools expect for those required to remove your old shower head. It seems to meet all of the claims stated in its description with the exception of improving water pressure by injecting air. Water flow seems the same when using a single shower head and understandably drops off noticeably when using both shower heads. Also on the negative side, some of its major components are made of plastic including the locking ring for the main body. This does not bode well for its expected longevity and gives the overall product a cheap feel. However, the hose to the handheld shower head is mostly metal which should prevent any major kinking and leaks during the Hydroluxe's operational life. Also, while it was a great idea to add plumber's tape to use in its installation since plastic couplings tend to leak as soon as they are heated no matter how tight they are, the amount of tape provided was insufficient. I had to buy my own wider plumber's tape and rewrap all of the fittings to stop all of the leaking that appeared after only one use. Once that was done, it has performed flawlessly. I can easily recommend the Hydroluxe for anyone looking for a quick and easy upgrade to their old standard shower head. 4
