DIY ProjectRecently purchased this item for a small gardening project and it was everything I had expected! At first I was a bit hesitant in spending the extra few bucks for the ATH120, however, after a few surprise rain showers I am relieved I did.. The data is easy to view on my desktop and easily transportable. I mainly use for my DIY projects which are always a pleasure to watch come alive. 10/10 would recommend for big and small projects. 5 Stars from me! :)5Great battery life, video like a 15 year old point and shoot.This is a good camera for the price, but it does have some issues.* it is a really odd size and shape* low quality (even at 720p) video in .avi container. AVI? Who even uses that anymore* poor low light quality* indoor lights cause a wave effect in the videoI would buy this camera again. It does work good outside in good light. Get the all weather case for it (and strap it down) and use only heavier tripods.3Good day time security cameraOne of the waterproof cases developed condensation on the inside corner. It was not in the way of the lease and it didn't develop enough to get into the camera itself, but this happened after just being outside for 3 days. It rained pretty heavy on day 2 of the camera being out. All of the negative comments about this camera are pretty accurate--the owner's manual and directions for set up are not self-explanatory--you have to pretty much poke around with the controls and find your way through the settings on your own trial and error. Otherwise, the product and packaging was first class for the price. I don't use this as a construction site camera or to capture moon and stars. I am using this instead of game cameras for security (trespass and poaching) issues. I needed to capture a wide field of view, all day long without someone triggering the camera. A game camera must be triggered within 50-60 feet of the camera. I needed to place this camera farther away (to avoid detection) and I needed a camera that took pictures without needing to be triggered. I believe this will fit the bill. The Sanyo batteries that come with the camera only lasted 3 days. I have set this camera for 10 second intervals and I am hoping to get 3 months out of the batteries, which is about the same amount of time I get out of batteries in a game camera.4nice productAwesome product! At first I was a bit skeptical on purchasing this item since I had not worked with any time lapse cameras prior to my purchase. However, I am undoubtedly pleased with the product outcome. The item itself does not have many buttons so it avoids too much confusion. Although I must add, in order to fully comprehend the product functions, thorough reading MUST BE DONE before attempting to record anything with the camera. My favorite feature would have to be the time lapse frame set. I tested out several frame time screenings to see which would give me the best video outcome and preferably the 5 FPS was my favorite speed since I was not working with a very lengthy project at the time. The camera captured clear images and offered a vast view of my project in just the right amount of time. As opposed to having an extended 30 min video. I also MUST ADVISE when starting a recording, one MUST WAIT to see the "REC" in RED text to confirm the camera has begun recording. Vice versa when stopping the recording, I found that I MUST SEE the "Processing" in RED text to confirm my video has been recorded onto SD card. I read many previous emails about this problem specifically, however, with proper understanding and care the video recording will be just as expected. Set up is easy for me now since it is my second camera. I am very impressed with the battery life which last 2 months when set at 5 min interval for my first camera. Be sure to press the "OK/Start" button when you start your recording AND when stop your recording.Again the seller Smartec was super helpful and refer me to a very helpful Brinno website for the time lapse setting which you can actually simulate your settings and find out the video length or the video file size before you put it in the field. This really save me from lots of guessing. Don't hesitate to call the seller if you have any questions about the camera, they are very knowledgeable about the product.5Awesome toolI used this at work to capture a construction project and I only had the photos capturing every hour during daylight hours. This produced an awesome video to use for various projects. Definitely get to know the settings - I watched a video on youtube that went in depth about the settings. Definitely worth getting the protective case if you're going to have it outside at all.5Unreliable recordingI was always suspect of user reviews attributing them to people who bought the item without properly reading the description or basic user error but after trying to use this camera for a long-term construction time lapse I had to return it. After multiple attempts trying to record I would come back to the site only to find the camera hadn't recorded anything. Very frustrating! At other times the product worked as it should which made it only more frustrating. The video quality was only so-so, which I did know going in but overall this product is not worth the trouble. It's too bad because the overall package is pretty slick.1Easy was to make timelaps videosI purchased this camera with the kit.The power supply that comes with it is very convenient when yo have are using the camera close to an outlet. I used the power supply a few times. I have used the camera with batteries for most of the videos. The mounting bracket is very small and made of plastic. I purchased a different mounting bracket to move the camera to different locations.There is a small screw and screwdriver that comes with the camera to adjust the focus but I didn't have to use it.The Water resistant case fits perfect.Overall the camera ahs been great.5Great time-lapse construction camera - runs like forever!These guys really helped me out of a jam where I needed to start rolling on a construction project within a couple of days. I sent them a message to see if they could rush the shipment... they did and I was able to get working on schedule!Thanks a ton Smartec, Inc!As far as the camera, it works great. 4 Duracell AAs have been running about a month shooting 1 frame each minute for nearly a month. Last I checked the batteries were still showing full!Be sure you focus it carefully (a magnifier for the screen while doing so really helps).I'd almost deduct a full star for the flimsy plastic arm mount though - wind seems to rock the camera back and forth and depending on your time-lapse interval it can show up in the video! Not a great material to build this bracket from when it's holding this camera that's slightly too heavy for it.5
