Customer Reviews

Awesome camera and vtx comboFantastically clear and crisp picture quality. Colors and contrast are spot on. The range of the vtx is as far as you'll ever need. I flew up 1km high with my plane and still had a great picture, but had a different antenna on it to be fair 5Bench tested for hours, burned up on first flight.Video quality was GREAT (especially compared to my 90mm micros) compared to other standard stack vtx's I've used in testing. Once I took off for my first actual flight, things were going good until about the 30 second mark when the vtx started SMOKING AND BURNING off the tail of my quad. Not I never go more then 10 feet away when first testing so as soon as I lost video I pulled my goggles and ran to power everything down. No damage to my quad but the vtx burned off my antennas. So I guess I was one of the ones to get a bunk one. I'm going to try another (weather through warranty or purchase because I really like the camera. But hope this saves your quad. (Dont test too far away, or I would have been out hundreds) 1These work great for seeing what my GoPro 5 hero is pointing ...Just ordered another one these. Last two I purchased worked flawlessly. I will update after I install this new one on my newly built S550 for fpv of photography shooting. These work great for seeing what my GoPro 5 hero is pointing at. I tried using GoPro as fpv but the lag was way to bad and made it hard to fly safely. 5Not bad for the priceI've had this VTX for about a year and probably only have around 20 flights with it. Up until today I've been very happy with. Today, while I was flying it just completely cut out. Luckily, I was just flying around in an open field and was easily able to land by line of sight. When I landed the VTX was significantly warmer than it usually gets. I checked all my solder joints and they were still good so I'm assuming one of the components for the VTX kicked the bucket. Overall, I still like these VTXs and would recommend them for a budget conscious quad build. 3Great valueI purchase this set up for a test trial of long range FPV. Surprisingly enough this set works great It got me out further than I'd flown before the camera works well for what it is. If your looking for a set up that won't hurt when you crash during test flights or learning than this is it. I will more than likely order again I fried my FTX by trying to solder straight around the connector. 5There are way better FPV products out there but this thing is cheap and has one day shipping so I bit the bullet.*Edit*It works perfectly fine if you figure out the issues. The wires in plug that comes with VTX is not correctly placed in order. Red is used for Ground- and Blue is used for Voltage+. I plugged camera into the supplied power from VTX blue wire and it started squealing like it was being fried from too much heat. I tested the output voltage from VTX and 19.8 Volts seems way too high for this camera and will burn it out. I finally ended up using filtered 12 Volt and Ground from PDB to power the Camera instead of the blue wire from VTX.Do not use the supplied plug from VTX to Camera. Cut that harness and make sure you power camera from PDB or it will be noisy.Camera is the best part about the purchase with an awesome OSD but needs lots fine tuning to work. I tried it today in the sunlight and all I got was yellow shadows and outlines. It worked perfectly fine last night in very low light but needs to be adjusted for bright light.Camera Settings:LENS - ManualEXPOSURE - Shutter - Auto Brightness - 65 AGC ---- DWDR - OnWHITE BALANCE (WB MANUAL) - Manual Color Temp - Manual Blue - 64 Red - 43BACKLIGHT - OffDAY & NIGHT - Auto D>N Level - 144 D>N Delay - 5 Sec N>D Level - 112 N>D Delay - 5 Sec 5ReturnedI really tried to give this setup a chance. It feels like it is pretty well made. Maybe I just got a dud. First off, this VTX says it can run off of 7V to 24V or something. Apparently it needs an unregulated 7V+. Finally got that figured out. Powered up the cam and the image is offset by approx. half the screen size and black and white. Unhooked cam and plugged in the provided OSD tool. Hooked it up to a TV and the image is rolling on the TV and black and white. At this point I'm really hoping it is just a setting that I can change via the OSD. The image is rolling so bad that I can't change any settings. I boxed it back up and returned it. 1Great FPV on a budgetFor a budget friendly FPV camera and transmitter, this works great. We started using this on our first build which was a F5 50 hexa copter and through the many different builds that we have made, this camera and transmitter has followed to everyone including the 250 mm build we just completed and are still very pleased with it. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget 5clear videoThe camera worked great. It has a clear picture both day and night. The settings were kind of tricky so I got on YouTube and used some of the preferences that other people used which was helpful. 4Nice and clear! but get rid of the included whip antenna.I think 600mw maybe overkill since my range is now limited by my radio because I now hit failsafe with a crystal clear picture. I also noticed the transmitter did get hot with the included whip antenna, but switching it out for a cheap clover leaf solved this and also improved image quality. 5
