Customer Reviews

Great Case for $20. (-1 for Bonus Fart smell)I have a DSLR and my wife had an old T-90 lying around. So I thought I will put that to work. So I bought this Waterproof housing.Order arrived on time. I received the package, open the package and ... that smell.!!!! @Poalroid, do you guys store it in a fart chamber? It smell horrible. Just Horrible. Also it looked like a used item.Over all it did a good job. I first tested it with a piece of tissue, in my swimming pool for defects. After making sure the housing is not leaking, I Installed my camera. Then tested in the Sea, I did snorkeling so didn't go too deep. But I read a review of some guy who took it down to 60 ft.Here is a Tip: (for inaccessible buttons): Cut a small piece of plastic like rice thick and put it on scotch tape. then put that scotch tape on camera with, plastic piece on the button. Buttons will be lot easier to control. I got my piece of plastic from an earbud straw.Construction: The main body is made of malleable plastic. The kind of you get your Electronics(mouse, headphones, sdcards) in. But slightly better grade. Frame is made of solid plastic.I took some good video under water. Ok quality but it could be T90 who knows. (No stars removed or added for this)Overall I recommend this item if you have extra camera lying around. Because now a days you wont use that camera anyways, because of your cell phones. Actually know what, you can use it will your old cell phones too. If you have extra :D. 4works great!Fit my old 12mpx camera perfect. keeps the water out. 5Easy to assembleIt works !!! NO leaks. Easy to assemble. Very reccomendable !!! 5Useless with TX10With water pressure, the plastic in front of the lens gets curved touching the center point of the lens surface and causing distortion of the picture. 1Fits many camera sizes and no leaksUsed this in salt and fresh water for snorkeling and then later goofing off in the hotel pool (did not test deeper than about 5 feet). Instructions are limited so testing it out before needing it is very important -- the camera needs to face the frame not the deep pocket, touch screen can be accessed but is very difficult to use accurately (so I turned it off -- that worked for my needs), foam inserts need to be cut to secure the camera in a good position, frame and case only go together one direction (for a good reason, but check this out) and the loop at the corner for attaching to a float or other cord is VERY small. I had to create a small loop out of strong string and work at it to create a loop that could be used with my float. I also had to remove the wrist strap from my camera in order to fit it into the housing, so I ended up creating an extra loop on my camera to make it easy to remove/reattach the wrist strap for land versus water use. Once wedged in place, I was able to use the physical buttons to turn my camera on/off and take pictures. (Sony DSC-TX20) I was fumbling to get it assembled at the start of one snorkeling trip and managed to trap moisture which fogged up the case, so it might take a bit of practice to know when/where to seal the case before stepping into cool water. In order to wedge the camera high enough to use the buttons, I ended up getting a bit of the yellow frame into my pictures. When I popped out of the water, I forgot to wipe off the front of the case and so some of my pictures have water droplets in the middle (user error -- not the fault of the case). This is my first waterproof camera housing but I'm very happy with it. 5Didn't work past 8ftI so wanted this to work with my sony cyber shot but it didn't work past 8ft because the pressure would cause a suction on the camera trigger and cause the camera to become diapsabled:( if IMy camera had a feature where I could trigger the photo to take from the touch screen it might have worked. Oh well I returned the item. 1DSC TX200V fits pretty wellI purchased this case to give the DSC TX200V some added water protection. The camera fits pretty well. The case comes with two pieces of foam for wedging in the camera. The directions are not much help, but the comments/reviews are helpful. After putting the camera in the case, front facing the frame. I was able to turn it on and take some pics. I can even use the touch screen, but admitedly it's difficult. Pictures come out well if the flash is turned off. There is about a 1/4 inch between the Polaroid clear plastic and the camera, when flash is used it creates bad pictures.I'm going to continue to "fiddle" with the case, I'm thinking that if I can get the camera face flush with the housing, this will eleminate the distortion when using the flash.I'm going to the pool tomorrow and will report back. I'll try to upload some underwater pics. 3Like soneone was mentioning in a different pistThe camera should be positioned in the opposite direction than shown in tge instructions.Like soneone was mentioning in a different pist, you need to glue a small pad in order to be able to access the buttons easily.Overall, I do not recommend it. 2Fits my Sony CybershotI haven't used this underwater yet, but I can report that it fits my new Sony Cybershot waterproof camera well, very securely. I am able to take good pictures out of the water, although I have to push harder in just the right spot on the Polaroid camera housing to depress the shutter button. It would help if there was a small, blunt point coming down over the shutter button from the Polaroid camera housing to assist with easier shutter button depression; maybe a new design for the next prototype. At this point, I can see no reason why the case would fail to protect my camera, but as I said, I have yet to take it underwater for a formal test. 4Good buy for the money!I m going to give this product a 3 star. I bought this Polaroid Dive-Rated Waterproof Camera Housing for my Sony Cybershot DSC- TX55. The main reason I bought this Camera Housing was to be used on the beach and keep my camera dry and sand free. It was very easy to place the camera into the housing. Since my camera has touch screen controls it can be a little problematic to change settings. I was unable to turn on or off the camera inside the case, I had to open to turn on or off and also to zoom in and out which at times was very difficult. This product works really well, no leaks and pretty much does what it supposed to do, maybe it would work a lot better with other small point and shoot cameras. 3
