    Perfect for use - enabled placement of flash unit on a very long stickExactly as advertised and what i wanted - can now place a speedlight on the end of a well constructed painter pole (that extends so looks good when using it and when attaching speedlight pole can be shortened to 5'. ideal and cheap way to place a speedlight where you want it5Modification for overkill piece of mind.I never tried using it as is so it may be just fine out of the box, but for my own piece of mind, I removed the tension screw that came with it, mounted it on the painters pole, drilled through the hole into the painters pole, making sure not to damage the threads of the adaptor, and then used a longer version of the screw to hold it all in place.I also added a screw that holds the painters pole threads to the painters pole because I use a SurLine extension pole and it just had a tension mount. Those are designed to hold a paint roller not a heavy flash. Better safe than sorry.5Perfect for attaching a camera to a poleI used this adapter to make a pole to get elevated shots with my Sony a6000. I love using my pole, and this give me a secure connection. I know other people (and some YouTube videos on camera poles) say you don't need to buy this. Maybe so, but after investing so much in my camera, it seems like a small price to make sure it's secure when I hoist it up in the air.5Works very well with a painter's pole.I use this with a Mr. Long Arm 3208 Pro-Pole Extension Pole, 4-to-8-Feet to extend my camera's reach. The Pro Pole Adapter is a well made product that screws on the end of a painter's pole. It has a 1/4-20 tripod screw on the end (which can be replaced with a longer screw, if desired). And it has a hex head set screw to firmly secure the adapter to the pole. In fact, my only quibble is that the don't provide the proper hex head wrench in the plastic bag holding the adapter. (I apologize for not providing the size here: I will add it later to save you the frustration of having to find the right-sized wrench - the ProPole folks don't tell you.) I think this could be lower-priced, but on the other hand, it is less expensive than competitive units. Overall. you need this if you're going to be using a painter's pole with cameras, microphones, lights and such.Jerry5no tool includedThe head on this tread screw and on the set screw are unusual. Why not include the tool so the user can loosen or tighten them? I don't own whatever tool it is. Pretty bogus and an added cost and inconvenience i hadn't expected. I might return since it will be useless if i can't secure it.1Functional With Minor ModificationThis product mounted securely to my painter's pole. The set screw is a nice addition for added safety. The 1/4 by 20 thread works for cameras and can be modified with a bushing to adapt for a 3/8" ballhead if desired.The minor modification needed is to anchor the center 1/4 x 20 bolt to the machined main casting. My first use discovered that it would turn within the main unit. When I brought my camera down after the first use I found that it had been held by only two turns of the thread as the other turns I used only moved the loose center bolt into the main casting. I will use a glob of epoxy putty within the central pole cavity to anchor the 1/4 x 20 bolt to the casting to prevent its movement in the future.3Delivery time was excellent and it is a very well built productThis should be in every real estate photographer's gadget bag as it is a simple and cheap way of getting aerial shots without the expense of having to buy a drone. I use it on a 2.5 metre painter's pole and with a 17-40mm lens on my Canon 5D Mk11 I get really standout photos. (See sample attached.) Just set the timer to 10 seconds and hoist the pole. Sure there is an element of hit and miss but if you are using a wide-angle lens you will have more hits than misses. It fits all painters' poles - I'm in Ireland and the thread on them here in Europe is the same as in the USA. Delivery time was excellent and it is a very well built product. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you take real estate photos you need this.5Great, but Watch These Two ThingsWorks as advertised - just one caveat. I screw this directly into my camera and the screw has loosened in the adaptor. Last week I had mounted the camera and the screw had backed out into the adaptor instead of screwing into the camera. Fortunately, I caught this and did not drop the camera. I have removed the screw and retightened it with glue to hold it in place. I would have used a lock washer but I had every size except this one. If you buy, I recommend you (or the manufacturer) add a lock washer.One more detail. I first bought an inexpensive painter pole and this would not screw on. It worked fine with a 2X more expensive pole. I blame this on the pole, not the adaptor. Suggest you take the adaptor with you and try it on the pole. Glad I did not mail-order the pole!4"Poor man's drone," perfect for getting your camera up in the air, or to hard-to-reach placesThis is a beautifully built, all-metal fitting that will help you put a camera or flash or light on the end of a "painter's pole." As others have pointed out, you'll likely want to use a little thread locker compound on the 1/4"x20 bolt to keep it from backing out. Otherwise, this is a great helper you can put to use in a number of ways.5Poor man's droneI strapped this baby onto the tip of my 16 foot extendable pole and all the ladies came running. But seriously, the shots it allows me to take with my smartphone are impressive. If someone had used this instead of a drone Enrique Iglesias would have healthy fingers. Anyhoo, it's built out of metal, is rock solid, threads on nicely, and turns practically any threaded pole into a way to get high-vantage-point shots. Not a bad deal for about 20 bucks. I agree with what other posters suggest: add some epoxy to the main screw to keep it in place. I plan to have a ball-head swivel to the top of this thing so I can adjust my camera angle.5
