Customer Reviews

Much better than I expected and plenty good for non-professional, non-music recording For a cheap mic, this gives good sound. I've spent many hours in recording studios. I'm a producer, not an engineer, so I don't have the vocabulary to give a real review, but as someone who's listened to a lot of spoken-voice tracks done in the studio, I'd say this will do fine for non-professional spoken-voice jobs. The main problem is sensitivity. At any distance, you sound like you're in the next room. When you're close, it's very easy to overload the mic.I had to practice and record over and over to get the sound I wanted. I suspect this is just a cheap-mic problem. If you want great sound, you have to pay. With this mic, you have to test a lot with different positions and tones of voice to get the sound you're looking for. When I found the sweet spot, though, I liked the sound a lot. Kind of thin and flat, but, again, this isn't a five-hundred-dollar mic.I recommend the mic for any home-based, non-music, non-professional use. It's plug and play; no software at all that I noticed. GarageBand wants to initialize it every time you plug it in, but even if you cancel, the mic still works. Audacity works fine with it.One issue: the heavy end of the mic hangs over the gap between the legs, rather than over a leg. It doesn't fall on its own, but watch out if you move the cable. 4Audio quality is poor. Like a cheap cheap mic It works yes but that's about it. Audio quality is poor. Like a cheap cheap mic. Even the stock iMac mic sounds significantly better. Posted a YouTube video using this mic and got comments saying that I need to buy a new mic. I spent a little more and got another one and noticed a significant improvement. Don't waste your money like I did. 1Great sounding inexpensive microphone If you are looking for an inexpensive microphone to do some light voice-overs with, or audio notes this mic might work for you. The K668 has plenty of output so make sure you keep your voice volume level low and consistent. I found the best results after going into the sound/record settings on my computer and turned down the record levels for the mic. You have to take a little time and test out the best setting for the program you are running. Turning down the mic input (mic record volume level) in your computer to 30-40% depending on your program might help as well. the microphone itself is metal and feels well built the tripod base does its job just take care when screwing the microphone onto it with the plastic threads. as long as you can adjust the audio levels in your computer with whatever program you are using you can use this microphone after a little testing. for a quick budget friendly mic that is better than the built-in computer mic this might just work for you 5and it was fine again. It's a decently sized mic and stand ... I got this after I got fed up with my Logitech G930 headset. I have Windows 7 and it had no problems detecting the mic and installing drivers for it automatically. The first responses I got when I started to use this mic is that I sounded much, MUCH clearer and with almost no static or feedback.I've used it with Skype, Steam, and Discord with few problems. There have been a number of times when people complained that I was coming in too quiet, but I'm soft-spoken so I'm not sure if it was the mic or just me. There was also one time when Discord refused to detect the mic, but then I unplugged and plugged it back in, restarted the app, and it was fine again. It's a decently sized mic and stand as well. From the end of the puff guard to the start of the cable is approx. 6in. as is the spread between each tine of the tripod. It stands about 7.5in. tall with the stand angled 70-80 degrees. The range is a little peculiar, but it was a minor adjustment to deal with so I won't take a star off for it. However, when I'm talking, it won't be detect my voice if I'm more than 2-3ft away, but it can still pick up my washer more than 20ft away in another room, so it seems to be able to register lower frequency sounds more easily than mid- to high-range.I've had this mic for a few months now and I have no desire to go back to a headset again. If you're debating on making the switch, I recommend making this the one you try out. 5FAR Better than the laptop mic... Seems built well, it's inexpensive and it works. Definitely WAY better than your laptop mic. It's way more directional (good for narration), less noise, far better tonal range - it's a good mic. Video shows the difference. It would make for a perfect desktop/podcast/late night talk show/etc type mic. See this video.I'll update if it has any issues. I received a sample for review. 5Works well. Almost TOO well. Got this microphone for livestreaming and it works pretty well. Got it to work on my mid 2012 macbook pro running 10.12.3 and using OBS 0.16.2 (mac) with little to no issues (mostly just set up stuff that you can watch tutorials for on youtube). Just beware that the microphone works VERY well and will pick up other sounds besides you, especially if you're not using it in a sound proof room. I live on a busy street and the microphone can pick up most of the street noises, but thats on me and not anything negative about this microphone.Other than that the sound quality is good and haven't had any issues and it mounts nicely onto the InnoGear Microphone Suspension Mic Clip Adjustable Boom Studio Scissor Arm Stand for Blue Snowball Blue Yeti Microphone I purchased along with this microphone (a mount adapter comes with the microphone so it will work with most universal arm mounts). All in all, good purchase. 5An affordable microphone that's plug n' play This is an affordable USB microphone with no bells and whistles, just plug and play you're ready to go. Out of the box you get the microphone itself, a tiny tripod for your desk, a wind screen and your usual manuals and information cards. The microphone itself has an omni-directional pickup pattern. It doesn't have a mute button or a headphone jack for monitoring, but everything you need to adjust is through the operating system anyway. The build of the microphone is all metal. The cable is also non removable. Its quite thick and pretty lengthy. It isn't braided or anything like that, but it's a good thing because most braided cables I come along usually rub against a surface causing feedback. It sounds really good for voice-overs or just simple calls to make on your computer. It's a lot better than a gaming headset microphone hands down. The wind screen that's included help really well at eliminating plosives or popping. The only gripe is that it may be too sensitive for picking up background noise, but this was eliminated by turning the volume down a little. During my recordings, I had the microphone set to 80% volume. I'm also about 8 inches away from the mic on this desk. I got clear audio without the need for changing any settingsI can push it back further for games and I'm still heard clearly. This is nice because I can just put the mic on the side and forget about it but I can still be heard by my friends or teammates. For recording I still recommend to have it closer to your mouth. So in conclusion I think this microphone is really worth the price. 5Good audio for cheap, but poor mount/stand design. This was just a "pick the best cheapest microphone" purchase for me. When I got it, it was pretty much white-box packaging and everything inside looked good. I went to set it up and the mic was in an upright position and I wanted to pivot it more horizontal like in the image. It would not pivot, due to some kind of ledge in the channel that the mic rests in (where the black mic body meats the silver part). I had to completely unscrew the joint and shove it into place at the angle for it to pivot again. I think if I ever put it back upright it will slip past the ledge and be stuck upright again. Once in an angled position like in the product image (about 30-45 degrees) there is not enough counterweight to keep it balanced over the stand. It will stay standing, but a slight bump tilts it down to the table, so you have to loosen up the mounting thread so it will sit directly over one of the legs.Actual performance: It picks up pretty much everything in the room, so it would never work for a noisy environment. Using it on a conference call, those on the other noticed the difference from my headset mic and said I sounded "video-game clear" and that the device they were using to listen from never sounded better. I have only done some brief voice recording tests in Adobe Soundbooth and it sounds clear and good response. If you need a decent USB mic, the Yeti is better, but at 4-5 times the cost. For my purpose, this serves the purpose but just disappointed with the mount and stand design.Note that I work with voice (speech, not singing) audio editing, but I am not a studio-level audio technician or recording pro. 3... the second USB mic I have tried and I like this one a lot This is the second USB mic I have tried and I like this one a lot. It simple to install depending upon what software you are using. I like the sound quality the best! The first mic I tried didn t work. The sound was very scratchy and sound unprofessional. This Microphone is great. The sound is clear and I don t hear any glitching or scratchy sounds in the background. This is great for studio style recordings. It s great at isolating the sounds from the main source and separating them from any background noise. I m a singer and it picks up the dynamics in my voice really well. It is not like being in a studio of course but it s great for at home recordings or for doing podcasts or just skyping. I like the little tripod it comes with as it makes it easy to set up and to put away. It already has its own spot on my desk. The non-tangling cord is great too because my cat just loves cords. I would recommend this Mic to anyone needing a quality USB mic! 5Little Mic, Big Punch - This mic is awesome for recording on the go! I bought this microphone to meet my need for a mobile mic that I didn t have to worry about breaking and that could easily travel with out any additional power or interfaces. I ve had many other mics such as the Zoom H4n, Audio Technica AT4040 and many from the blue yeti series but none of them were good for mobile situations (in fact my blue mic s stand is decimated after a summer of travel). I needed something small and plug and hassle free.I came across the K668 and it was an awesome bang for buck. It plugged straight into my Mac and was immediately recognized. This thing works great for conference calls, voice overs, gaming and everything I threw at it. I was blown away on what this little microphone could produce at this price. It also could take a nice beating and tossing around with no issues in performance or reliability. Over the last few weeks of carrying this around and doing recordings on business trips, here are my thoughts (in non-video)Pros:>Light and easy to travel with>Easy to break down and stand up>Plug and Play - self-installing drivers (both Mac and PC)>Pretty good ambient noise cancelling>Amazingly clear sound and comparable to more expensive microphones>Comes with Wind Screen>Nice Long and sturdy Cord>Good tilt adjustabilityCons>Stand only locks into one height>Would have preferred a detachable cable for easier and safer storage and carry>No carry bag>No on-board recording modes, onboard monitoring or level adjustments (however I did not really expect that from a 20 dollar microphone).-UtmostCoin 5
