Customer Reviews

the 3rd time is not a charm.... At the time that I bought these (when they first came out) I was a HUGE World of Warcraft fan. I dont play WoW anymore, but the first headset that I got of these worked amazing for years. I had the first set for 5 or 6 years like a previous one star reporter. They were amazing. Then they broke. So immediately I found them on amazon and bought a replacement. On the first headset the only con was the cord stopped charging after a while, so knowing that I bought a basic Amazon cable as well. Sure enough within 3 months the cable on the new headset stopped charging so I plugged in the new one. That lasted maybe a month before the headset started cutting out. I could see the bluetooth blink off, then back on 3-5 seconds later. and immediately after that started, the earpiece broke (the connecter broke). so the one earpiece was useless. I was a little dismayed at the interruption of sound and of course then it breaking, but non-plussed I went and bought ANOTHER one. I bought this one about a year ago now and the cutting in and out has been prevalent since day one. The cord that comes with it failed after a month but now as of yesterday no matter how I plug it in, where I lay the things while charging, it wont retain a charge. I have recommended this to my friends over the years... For the first 5 or 6 years they were flawless. Now, not so much. I wouldn't spend the money on them now. Three times is not a charm for this headset. 1Handly Little Device I have had it for three years, and I still love it. It blocks out surrounding noise particularly well. When operating games and voice chat software simultaneously on your PC, it will automatically decrease the volume of your game when someone is talking through Ventrilo, Raidcall, Teamspeak, Skype, etc. When they are not speaking, your game sounds will return to normal. The actual microphone can be detached if Each ear piece and the inside, top rim has a large amount of pads and cushion for maximum comfort. I can wear it for at least five hours until I become uncomfortable from the compression. The software that comes with the headset allows you to customize the color glowing from the decorative ear cuffs. The purchase comes with Horde and Alliance emblems to insert on the ear pieces as well. I bought Warlock symbol plates to further customize my headset and set the color to purple for a more dramatic effect. When the headset is first turned on, it will blink red and blue, then proceed to emit the color you chose. The only con I experienced was charging the headset. I would suggest purchasing a USB splitter. With a gaming mouse, the USB cord used to charge the headset, and the receiver for the headset, it has the potential to become excessive, and my previous PC did not have enough USB jacks to maintain my operations. However, a USB splitter only cost me $6.00.Overall, it was a good investment. 5this headset is more dope than a meth head i was very skeptical when buyin this reading all the reviews about how it is a cheap peace of plastic and how it will break on you, ive had mine for about 4 days now and have been extra careful with it and it is fine, just take care of your headset and dont throw it and rage when you get ganked people! i don't see any way of it just breaking if you handle with care...its impossible. comfort with this headset is amazzzzzzing, played for 4-6 hours first night and they were very nice and didn't bother me one bit, earmuffs go over your entire ear and causes nooooooo irritation! mic quality is fine havens had any complaints yet and i sound really clear. sound quality....imagine playing wow or any game on your pc in an imax theater...oh wait this headset gives you that experience! ( a 42 inch monitor helps as well) awesome quality with actual surround sound ( make sure you turn it on in the wow audio panel ) bass is great and i only have mine at 75%. oh ya and glowing horde/alliance insignia's on your ears, badassssss. wow was fun before, and it feels like im playing a new game with this headset, it makes rbgs soooo much more intense :) don't listen to the morons who say these break, just treat them with extra care, and they will last. at $50 these are a stealllllll and a must have. if you wanna have an awesome wow experience stop reading this review and add to your cart, proceed to checkout and have this amazing headset shipped out to your house!!!!!!!! 5Amazing headset if you can find the software Best headset you can buy for that price if you can find the software for it. The website no longer has the software available but if you search the WoW forums you can find the software there. With the software you can change the color to anything you can imagine so you are not stuck with the standard red and blue options. It also allows you to tweak the sound and mic settings which drastically changes the quality for the better. The ear cups are super soft and comfy. The only issue I have had is changing out the ear pieces ( horde/alliance pieces). It is difficult and can easily crack them when doing it. The battery life is amazing. I can easily get 10+ hours out of it. The range is good too. I go everywhere in my house wearing them and still hear the sounds from my PC. The first pair I bought lasted 3 years before someone sat on them and broke them. I had no wear issues during that time. I am hopeful this new pair will last just as long. They do work with Windows 10 even though they do not state that. Again I do have to state again, go and find the software. The sound that it has without it is not very good but once you get the software, it is so much better! 5Bose Headphones have nothing on these! Creative Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Wireless Headset I bought these Blizcon 2009 and they lasted 3 years! Best headset I've ever had and amazing sound quality! I've never found better headphones than these and I owned Bose Headphones(the high end super quality headphones are nothing compared this.) The noise canceling is way better than Bose as well imo! I highly recommend anyone and everyone buy this! 5decent wireless headset This is prolly the 4th wireless set that I have had. My biggest issue is the Creative Labs seem to cut out periodically. Yes it's for short periods of time (a fraction to 2 seconds), but it's still when I'm literally 2-4 feet from the wireless receiver plug in. Being a WoW raider, it normally doesn't come at crucial points of vent communication, but it has come dangerously close if you can say that about a game, lol. I've had it for about a month now I want to say and the battery life is pretty nice so far. The plug in for it is nicer than my old logitech, after 3-4 months of near nightly use, the charging cord was practically impossible to keep in when it was simply laying down, let alone in use. I doubt this one will have any issue staying plugged in unless someone steps on the charger. The sound is great, the voice changer is kind of fun to play with, so far the item quality is terrific-feels very high quality and long lasting. I guess my only complaint is that it is SOOOOO bulky. But I knew that when I bought it, so its no surprise. For those that have any issues with the mike not working, I learned that when I keep it turned on and plugged in, the mike stops working. So every night I turn it off then plug it in, since that I have had no issue with the mike quitting on me.Overall: yes its pricey, yes its high quality, yes I'd buy it again. I will and have recommended it to friends. 5Not Female Friendly Ok, so this headset is amazing, my husband loves it, however the only hiccup I have found is with the voice moderator if used by a woman... in which case the user either sounds very much like a very high chipmonk or a very gay man (nondiscriminatory, yet as a woman I had hoped for a more female modulatorial voice which is apparantly unavailable). It's very obvious they did not consider a female voice when designing this headset, (which is already for like $80+ USD on amazon), I can understand as there are probably few women using said product on Warcraft, but both my husband and I have tried to used the modulator and only he has success. I however sounded like a rotal idiot when just trying to play normally... 3Really good headset. Comfortable for long raids. Flakes out on vent with voice changer. First off I used to play with a logitech headset for raids and had major ear pain after the first 6 hours or so. I wanted full over-the-ear headsets and saw these so I went for it. The major selling point to me was not the color changing earpieces, it was the comfort and light weight. The voice changing ability is really good and pretty fun.Comfort (+)/(-)This is both a pos and a neg to me. The headset is super comfortable and does not press on my ears too hard, so it makes wearing them for long periods effortless. Where the neg comes in is the cord itself. Due to me losing communications during some epic 12 hour raid, I felt the need to purchase the corded version of the headset. I did not want it to fail when we were fighting some boss so I opted for a failsafe version. Bad idea, the cord is thick and covered with a mesh, cool looking but remains kind of stiff all the time. 2nd one is by far the worst. The cord connects to the headset's LEFT side. All of the controls are on the left side, and the mic is on the left side. I am right handed as I assume almost 90% of the population is. Which makes this really difficult to have all of my USB being on the right side of my computer and the cord being on the left. My only suggestion is to replace the cord with a light weight miniUSB cord and it would be much easier to turn your head.Sound (+)The sound is fantastic. Both WOW, DA:O and other games sound wonderful. The bass is deep and the highs are nice and crisp. The ear pieces do a great job of muting all outside noise and this means you can enjoy it without cranking up the sound too much. Music is also really good in these.Setup (+)Its very easy to set up on both PC and Mac. I tried both and each one is cake to do. You can change the color of the ear pieces, adjust the EQ, set up keybindings and more in the included software.Fun (+)When raiding it is fun to do voice changing antics. Especially after a wipe or when someone has to bio for 10 mins. Its great to have something to goof off with during those downtimes. The voice changer really does change your voice, not only in pitch but also moderation and speed. The result is several voices can sound like someone else and not sound comical. A few are downright silly, but there are ones that enable you to sound like a completely different person. Use at your own risk :).Integration with voice servers (-)Quite often I would break up on voice while using this with Vent. This happend on a few servers so I cannot blame one type vs another for the breakup and when I switched back to my old headset it went away. I think it might be the software layer between the headset and vent. I was unable to replicate it but it was intermittent at best.Price (+)/(-)I think the corded version is the price the wireless version should be and the corded one should be less. It is a great headset without all the fun features, but not a stellar set that requires the premium tag IMHO.Overall synopsis:If you did not have a headset and needed one to pick up this would be a fine set to get. If you like gadgets and other fun features get this set but get the wireless version. It is very good quality and I have no complaints after 2 months of owning it.Thank you for reading my review. 5WoW like you have never heard it before. It was easy to set up, playing with the voices is always great especially when you hear others trying not to laugh when using the female elf voice. The colors change on their own or you can select your own color. The best part about them is the sound. I have never heard the music so clear, plus it is surround sound which in the microphones is even better than when I hook up my computer to the TV.They are extremely comfortable (may mess up hair on top if you wear gel) and the cushions on the side act as buffers to outside sound. Which is great when someone is vacuuming around you or is watching a video on their computer without headphones.I read the reviews about the mic. I have no had any problems with the mic and I have asked every since I saw the reviews a couple weeks ago. The mic can easily bend out to prevent that noise and it may be picking up feedback if you have them hanging around your neck.I use it for everything on my computer, youtube, watching videos, playing other games, it works with everything. The only bad thing is that it does not work with CoD on PS3. The headset has it's own volume controls on the side of the headphones which work great on the computer, but for some reason they don't work on CoD. It might be the PS3-- I haven't tried them with any other game.I think the headphones are great I just don't like the price. I saved to get them and love them, but I would have loved having the wireless ones more. The wired ones are coated with a touch material so you don't have to worry about putting them in your bag to travel and them ripping or something spilling on them.Don't forget to install the software before playing. You can plug them in and they work as normal headphones and light up but if you install the software it kicks on the surround sound and other cool effects. 4Great sound/fit for small person, but has power/connectivity issues. This review is for the wireless version of the Creative Sound Blaster WoW headset.Pros:- Wireless and USB charged; does not rely on batteries, or have clunky attachments like some other wireless headsets- Extremely comfortable; I can wear these all day without issue, even wearing glasses.- Awesome look; these things look great. They come with alliance/horde ear plates, and you can adjust the glow color (or turn it off entirely) to just about anything- Great for small heads; I consider this a huge benefit. As a 5'3" petite woman, I find a lot of gaming peripherals are scaled up a bit too much for comfort. At their unextended adjustment, these fit perfectly- Adjustable volume on headset earpiece; great for when I'm wandering around with these. Also has mute, of course.- Awesome sound quality; these sound rich and loud. I really enjoy them.Cons:- Connectivity issues; even when using these wired with the USB receiver 3 feet away, the connection will die sometimes (on the order of several times a week). I have to unplug the headset/receiver a few times to get it working again.- Weak USB port; daily use of my headset destroyed the power charging port, rendering my headset useless after less than 4 months. Which leads me to...- Awful customer service; it was a battle to get them to replace the thing. Eventually they agreed, and I sent it back in pristine condition with packaging, aside for the noted issue. They never acknowledged they received the headset, nor did they refund me as promised.- These are massive; the size is not a concern for me, but these things are huge. If you want something sleek, stylish, or inconspicuous, this isn't the headset for you. While these cons seem pretty heavy, the pros outweighed them for me; I am now on my second set of these. After my disappointing experience with the first, I tried several other headsets, but nothing could live up to these in terms of convenience and comfort. Be it for music, gaming, movies, news, or work, I am on my computer virtually all day. Having a headset I can wear for that long with zero discomfort (and with the convenience of being wireless) makes me willing to overlook a lot. I have had my current set for about 5 months now; I'm definitely babying the power socket on this one, and so far, so good. 4
