Customer Reviews

Try it with parchment paperThis tape is great - used it to label my son's clothes for camp. It was super fast & easy to use, and has now lasted through multiple washings. One hint that I learned from using many types of iron on labels is to place a folded over piece of parchment paper over the label rather than the extra piece of fabric that is recommended. This allows sufficient heat transfer, but does not melt the label fabric or damage the ink at all.5So many uses for these. They stick really well, and are easy to read.My husband ran coax and cat 5 cables to each bedroom in our home, and then used these to label the wires. Because they are the flexible they wrap around the wires really nicely and stick really good. I used them to label all my storage containers. Because of the white background they are really easy to see no matter what I apply them to. I also used them to label each child s tooth brush and tooth paste (I have 4) and that eliminated the nightly, mom, he/she is using my stuff. They continue to stick even though they get wet daily. My older kids were required to bring headphones to school, and they got lost/stolen so I started labeling each set for each child. Since these labels stuck so well, no more headphones disappeared. (Black permanent marker eventually rubbed off). I then labeled my head phones, charging cables, power adapters, etc. and my kids no longer borrow my stuff. Recently my parents purchased a new home, and my father had a stroke, so I labeled all of the light switches in their home. My parents love it.I did purchase some off brand labels (because these are so expensive) and they work well, but if it is something important that is a curved surface, and I need it to last, I use these.5Buy it practical reasons, and have some fun with it too!Bought this to label packing cubes, it was easy to apply with my flat iron. (not the best at following instructions, lol)Then when I was done with that project, I had so much left over, I decided to have some fun with it and ironed "love notes" into hubby's undies. Tee hee. "shake what your momma gave ya," "peek - A-OK, I see you," and "love you more than waffles." After 20 years together, there isn't much that surprises him anymore.5Great for Coats and JacketsI developed a technique to put the tags on the hanging loops of coats and gear that would not react well to an iron (goretex, raingear, pvc, etc.). What I do is to double print my name and address and then fold it over on itself around the hang loop and iron it right to itself. This works great and doesn't damage the garment. It's best to leave a little white space on the ends to allow for misalignment of the ends, and then trim off any overlap. If there was one side overlapping it would be sticky and it is pretty hard to get the ends perfect so trimming eliminates the need to be getit perfect.4MY client loves pink I am a Professional Organizer and my client loves pink. I made a file system, pink files and pink labels. These labels are fine except of course the the huge amt of waste of tape at the beginning and end. I do go into functions and choose a "narrow" for the margin which saves a little bit at the end. Other wise they are a nice pop of color , great for pink lovers and the quality of the tape is good . 5Indestructable cable markerI use this flexible tape to tag every charger and cable that comes into the house. I put the name of the tool or computer component, function of the cable and charging info in small print (Example: hedge clipper charger, 3 hours, light turns green) on the 1/2 inch tape. The flexible tape can be wrapped around electrical wire and stuck to itself, so text can go on each side. It is virtually indestructible in place. I space the text so it is toward each end of the tape and the part that actually wraps on the cable has no text. Gone are the days of squinting at black on black plastic transformer names that often have no brands on them and rummaging around for manuals. I Use it with the 2730 Brother label maker that connects to a computer for almost unlimited design choices, both preinstalled by Brother or created by me to suit a particular need. Works on computer cables, garden tools, cell chargers. It's especially good for tools that you use rarely and need to remember how many hours to charge. I use the related Brother 1 inch tape for garden markers, and so far, they have lasted outside on aluminum markers in the dirt through 3 winters.5... usually have no problem with Brother tapes and I love the brandI usually have no problem with Brother tapes and I love the brand. However every once in awhile the cartridges are defective and jam. That's what happened with this one. Unfortunately, I bought it a little over a month ago so now it's past the time I can return it.I suggest to anyone that buys a P-Touch cartridge, try it out when you get it so you don't get stuck like I did.2.I bought a lot of brother tapes at the same time for a project I was doing. I finally opened up this box and when I tried to use it, the tape got all tangled coming out. Brother/amazon said I could not return this for a new one because of a time limit. I do not think this is a good policy for this kind of product as I had bought 11 other tapes before this one. All worked well but this one did not. Because of their 30 day policy for returns I certainly won't by more than one item at a time from now on. See picture posted.1Great for labeling clothing!Easy to use! Works well. Practice on your Brother P-Touch to find the best print settings to minimize space between labels to save space. It is just Plug & Play! I cut up an old shirt to use between the iron and the tape. The iron-on Tape adheres to nearly every fabric. Let it cool for 20 seconds before moving the clothing so the glue sets up.I found all "caps & bold" setting worked the best for legibility. Bold is "Function - Style - Bold". Once I found the right print settings I selected "Function - print options - copies" to print several at a time. Sorry if this is too basic for you.I spent more time finding the optimum print settings for the P-Touch than anything else. I found the Manual for my model on line. I have to admit the P-Touch has been so easy to use, I haven't read the manual until now.The Fabric Iron-On Tape worked easily for me. Initially, the fabric I used between the iron and the Label was too thick. The labels didn't adhere well. I switched to a thin fabric so the Labels got hot enough to melt the fabric glue and it worked well.5Name-brand but no warranty. I use several Brother labelers and have for years. And I have also tried "generic" labels. These name-brand Brother labels are generally much higher quality. But they have become very expensive, and they have no warranty. The quality has gone down with their "eco-friendly" cartridges. As a result, the labels now get stuck and broken in the cassette if you are not very, very careful all the time with them. It's become such an issue, that there are several online videos demonstrating how to fix them. Overall, I plan to look for alternative labels. These ones jam too often. And amazon no longer allows returns. 1Convenient and flexible, but questionable durability.Works like any other P-Touch label, which is obviously the big feature here. Getting custom labels made is actually cheaper in larger quantities, but for one-off needs and customization this can't be beat.Unfortunately, the labels are not even remotely heavy duty. The adhesive works well enough on most fabrics, but it just can't stick to certain things. I suspect after a few washings they'll separate from anything that didn't get rock-solid adhesion. Especially on anything that will be bent frequently. But the big durability issue is the "ink" smears when it's pressed / stressed. Using a "helper" cloth to separate the iron from the material is OK, but I usually just turn the heat down. (my iron has a teflon coated plate, so sticking isn't any issue) The smearing is not enough to make anything illegible, but I wonder what will happen after a few times going through the dryer.4Medium-rare labelsI really like this product from Brother and I've been using it for years. I print with a handheld unit that provides limited printing options, but does the job for me. The labels print as blue lettering on a white background and the font is pretty clear. The labels attach to pretty much anything and go on extremely quickly with an iron. I tend to touch the iron directly to the label, but if you're slow the label will adhere directly to the iron or the ink will smudge badly.Otherwise, once the label is on it's going to stay there for a really long time. It has survived a year or two of regular wear and laundry, which I find pretty impressive. In the event that you need to remove a label be prepared for a chore. The label off is tough and requires patience while reheating the glue to remove it. Take care not to scorch the fabric that you are working on.I do have one gripe and that is the printing process off the Brother printer that I have wastes a good deal of tape. The printer tends to feed an inch of tape before printing which takes a chunk out of the 15 or 16 dollars of the cost of the tape.4
