    5 stars for a standard/metric 30 meter measuring tapeI bought four of these tapes to support a field marine biology course I teach. The tapes were used in water, sand and mud, and performed just fine. Though these are not top-end tapes, they did what I needed and kept on ticking.One of the real selling points for me is that one side has standard measurements and other side ha\s METRIC measurements. It's the metric that I needed most.The tapes are not too heavy to lug around and survived the trip nicely, ready for the next time I head to the coast. 5Perfect for personal useI almost didn't buy this because it only had two reviews and one was bad. I used it yesterday to measure out a 20 x 60-meter dressage horseback riding arena, reeling it in and out numerous times to measure length and width, square the arena, and set markers all along the sides. It works well, reels in and out smoothly, and holds up to the job. It may be a bit light-duty for serious construction work, but for my purposes it is perfect. 5Recommended as a great measuring tape.As a track official I need a measuring tape that is easy to read, easy to wind up, long lasting and sturdy- as it will be used countless times at each meet. This definitely fills the bill. I had the exact same model for a great many years before it finally had to be replaced. Not bad for $11.97 right?! It has measurements in feet (notations in RED)on one side and in meters(notations in BLACK) on the reverse side. I have used other taps (owned by other officials ) and this one is by far the easiest to red and use! I highly recommend it. 5They are perfect for laying out the base lines and also for ...We purchased 4 of these measuring tapes to use on our softball fields. They are perfect for laying out the base lines and also for drawing the circle around the pitchers mound. The point works perfect for giving us a groove line that we can apply chalk to.Directions are easy to read and understand. The arm allows for easy roll-up when done.I recommend these for purchase and for any softball association they work well for what you need done. 5UghhhhThe pin that holds the reel in place fell out for no reason after only using it a few times. Going to the hardware store to try to find something that fits the pinhole and hopefully make-shifting it back together, but I would not purchase this product again. Believe me when I say it's not fun reeling in 100' measuring tape with no pin to hold the handle in place, took a solid 5-10 minutes to get everything wound back up. 2Not Durable Even for 1 UseI used it the first time on my schools football field to re-line the field after graduation (after the Amazon return window closed). While measuring the field the safety cap on the bottom fell off (somewhere) and the biggest issue-the end of the tape measure with the U end ripped off so you cannot keep the tape in 1 spot without 2 people. 2Aww, ok I guessThis probably would work well to use as it was intended and only occasionally. I, however, don't buy something unless I use it up. The center is coming apart and there really isn't much of a bearing system for the spool. Admittedly, I have probably had it unwound and wound back up well over a hundred times. I figured this on being a cheaper alternative to the move expensive counterparts so I bought two. It will last until I wear it out or somebody releaves me of it and I will open the next one. About what I expected so I should give it more stars but "you get what you pay for.*"*Phrase used in the sense as millions others have in online forums to denote- its cheap, expect it to work a few times and move on with life. 3You get what you pay for and this tape works and works well to 300'It is a cheap 300' tape. Nothing fancy. But it works and works well. I can not see a professional relying on this for income but for someone that is working around the house and using it from time to time, it is perfect!! I pulled all of the tape out and it goes to 300' and I was able to winde the tape back without any issues. The tape did stretch a bit but nothing to be horribly concerned with. I had previously purchased this brand and length and had used it for four monitoring seasons before it finally broke. This tape began to tear the first day, and broke in 6 places within three days of use. When I compared the two tapes, I found that the new tape was noticably thinner than the old.I would have gladly paid twice as much to get better quality, but 400 foot tapes are simply not available. I'm tired of cheap Chinese made products that cost me in time wasted. Doesn't the manufacturer understand that these tapes will be stretched? 1Great for price.I needed greater then 300 feet. This was only option that didn't break bank. Not best quality, but if you don't treat it like it's indestructible it will last. I surveyed my densely wooded property in the rain without failure. Have used it in the rain multiple times. Dried out fine with no smearing of numbers. I expected one time use, but I am pleased to be using it over and over. 4
