Louder than I expected.4Nice look and soundI actual like this radio very much. A kitchen to me has to have music. It pairs well with my phone on Bluetooth. Nice size and color to match my appliances. Only downfall for me is that the is not a place to plug in a usb. Since the face of the unit is black and the buttons have tiny (tiny) light writing, (I mean really tiny), I have to put on my glasses to see if I am pushing play, pause, etc. which is frustrating. I guess if you are under 40 you will have no problem reading the buttons.The CD player hesitates a bit while hitting the eject button - if you can see the button. I thought I had a damaged unit because I would hold the button and nothing would happen, so I would try again and again. Fits well under my kitchen cabinet but measure first.4Stopped working after 9 months of very gentle useWe purchased this about 9 months ago. It is mounted under our kitchen cabinet and we use it maybe once or twice a week in the morning.... that s it. So I was quite surprised when I pressed the power button yesterday and the display screen simply started flashing a dim light on the display screen with no sound. This has been very gently used and it s less than a year so it s quite frustrating that it just stopped working. Especially when you are unable to contact the seller to have the issue resolved. My advice is to purchase one that is sold by and shipped from amazon Because at least if something goes wrong you will be able to get in touch with them ;-)1One out of three not good enoughJust received the unit. Installed easily. The small/slim size is great. The magnetic remote a plus. The FM radio reception was better than expected. Unfortunately neither the CD player or bluetooth functions work. When I put a cd in, the readout reads "no" and nothing plays. I have tried multiple cds. When I switch to bluetooth mode, the bluetooth indicator light will come on briefly, then go out. It does not flash slowly or quickly when the pair button is pressed. My htc cannot find the signal when trying to pair it. I guess one out of three functions isn't a total wash, but not good enough for a keeper. The unit is going back!Review update (1/24/15) - received a replacement for the above unit. The second unit was better, but still not fully functioning. The radio and bluetooth worked, but the cd player did not. The cd player drawer would only open when the unit was turned upside down! I returned this unit. Although a third time might be the charm, I'm done trying. I wish the unit would have worked...as the unit design is compact and perfect for the amount of space we have under our cabinets. The only good thing in all of this is that there were no shipping charges (coming or going) with Amazon Prime!1We actually had our old one under a wire pot rack which made installation very easy. I wanted one with Bluetooth (the old one was made before there was such a thing) and a cd player. This was one of the few out there. Radio reception is worse than our old unit. The clock light is dim. The radio preset button isn't well thought out. And the sound isn't quite as good (less bass). With all that being said, it's an okay unit. The remote works and has a magnet so you can put it on the fridge.3Get the extended warranty!The first one I received, part of the mounting system was missing. I easily returned it, and got the new one. Installed the new one, and it's worked like a charm until today. It worked great for 10 months and 21 days. I went to turn it on, and there is no display. I unplugged and replugged....nada. I went to Amazon to see what my warranty was with the product....90 days. That's it. 90 days. I now see that there is an extended warranty available, but my last under the cabinet worked for near two decades. Who would have thought? ANYWAY, I'm sorely disappointed. I knew there were mixed reviews, and had I posted earlier, it would have been glowing, but 10 months and 21 days after my purchase, I'm not so thrilled,2it has 20 memory settings so after you painstakingly manually scroll through to find and select your favorite stations your good to goFor the price, you really can not go wrong with this product. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 stars is that it doesn't have an auto-seek tuner. The other reason is as other reviews mentioned the built-in magnet that is supposed to hold the remote control to the unit is very weak or more accurately stated, it doesn't work at all. The speakers are not top of the line but work just fine for its purpose in the kitchen and for the price. The unit allows me to once again listen to my many CDs that have been collecting dust since my last CD player broke a couple years back, and the Bluetooth capability allows for online music streaming. The template makes for very easy installation without the hassle of having to measure.4Super Little Radio for The Price! Try It, You'll Like ItThis iLive under cabinet radio Model IKB318S replaced an ancient UCR, so it's quite an upgrade for me.I listen to Talk Radio most of the time and the radio sounds great and even music sounds very good. The speakers have very warm tones.The iLive tunes in very well picking up strong signals with no interference or static.There are 20 presets and you must cycle through all them then it goes back to the first. I only needed 3 so dear husband programmed the 3 stations in sequence for all 20 preset spots. ... 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 .... Pretty smart.The Bluetooth works brilliantly and all of my eclectic Playlist sounds wonderful through these speakers.I haven't installed yet. As you can see in the pic the little feet on it are working as a stand for me in the meantime.The only drawback? The Buttons are very small and the text on them super tiny; but after a short time you'll likely adjust and memorize the functions but still, they are really, really small.I'd definitely recommend this iLive radio for anyone. My kitchen is 14 x 14 and a separate room but I think the radio would sound good in most settings.4
