THREE UNIT BUY and ALL FAILED!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS GARGAGE ITEM!!! I purchased three of these and NOT ONE worked!! The piece opposite of speaker on head crown holder broke off JUST TRYING TO PUT IT ON! I didn't use them right away, as I was leaving town for a while, so I can't return it now; but I would return it like a SHOT if I could!! Do yourself a favor: DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BUYING THIS PRODUCT! IT'S CHEAPLY MADE, it falls apart under normal use and the microphone only works part of the time. I bought this instead of the Plantronics model I usually get because this was cheaper...BAD MOVE! You get what you pay for, and in this case you pay for GARBAGE that doesn't work!!!! 1Have ordered this item before, still like it. Third time ordering this one. Only problem has been at the connection site at the computer. Plastic material pulled away from the metal insert. But I am rough on the headset. Because it isn't wireless, I have a tendency to get up and yank it out, so no complaining about the connection. For the money, the sound is great. Have never used the microphone so can't review. I used this in my van, plugged into my smartphone to talk with my husband driving the rv, he uses one too and it works out great. 5Pleasantly Surprised It's hard to find a boom mic headset for cell phones that isn't Bluetooth, and I SWEAR by my JLab J3MS JBuds In-Ear Single Earphone Style Headset with Enterprise Class Mic (Silver) for when I'm out and around, and even for when I'm in the office because it's just that good, but there's a real need for a fixed in front of your face mic when you're making business calls. Sometimes the mic on the J3M's gets turned or rubs against my clothes when I'm sitting, so it isn't completely perfect.So I took a chance on the Cellet headset and I'm very pleasantly surprised. The sound in the earpiece isn't near as good as the J3M, but this headset is unabashedly designed for phone calls and only needs to pass voice frequencies as opposed to the JLab J3M or any other headset of theirs which are music headsets first and have incredible sound quality. Voice on this headset sounds great, so it does what it's supposed to.The real test for any mic'd headset, corded or Bluetooth, is how the audio going OUT sounds. Many inexpensive, and most expensive headsets have awful output. I tested this item on an iPhone 5 and LG Optimus G Pro and found it to sound every bit as good as the phones' built in mics. No distortion, same volume output, and clear as one can get on a cellular connection.This item is great, the price is definitely right, and while I'll only use it in the office as my JLab items are my headsets for music, I highly recommend this item for making calls. 5Cellet EP35OP headset with mike great buy! Can't be beat for the price; I could find no instructions anywhere for using a headphone set with my Galaxy Rugby phone. I just plugged this one in and it works fine. It has no mute button. Sound for me is great and the people I call say it sounds quite a lot better than when I use the built in speaker function of the Rugby. I does rotate so you can use it on your left ear; that's what I do as I am deaf in my right ear. I have not tested it for listening to radio or music; when I do I will up date this review. I can keep the boom far enough away to still drink coffee when talking on it, eh? I do not have a land line phone in my home; I do all my talking and I'm quite one to gossip with my cell phone; this headset is really great for me. 5Buyer beware! Cheap junk! Piece. Of. Junk! How many times did I use it before it broke? Zero times. As in not once did I get to use this headset. I went to put it on my head and the cheap plastic headband snapped like a twig. 1Pros and cons I don't think I've ever purchased a product that deserved exactly three stars as much as this one does. Much to like. Much to dislike. Overall, a worthwhile purchase.First the pros:- It works with my Droid 3! Thank goodness. I'd tried several other products in an attempt to find SOMETHING I could use reliably with my phone. These other products I tried included an adapter for my old 2.5mm headset (audio worked; mic did not), an adapter for my pc headsets (audio worked; mic did not), a bluetooth headset (Motorola S305, which thankfully arrived to me with a broken battery so I could return it, because it was horribly uncomfortable with glasses - tried it on before I returned it), and two different sets of corded earplug-style headsets (they were both a bit uncomfortable, and without volume control, even if I turned the volume down the whole way on my phone, they were still horribly loud). But anyway, this one has the 4-contact 3.5mm TRRS connector plug you need for modern smart phones.- Boom microphone is clutch. People can hear me fine, and I can speak confidently, knowing that I'm directing my voice to the right place - much different than those headsets with the mic built into the cord someplace.- Has a nice clip to make sure you don't yank the cord and pull the set off your head.- Audio is decent. Not superb, but decent.Now the cons:- The over-head clamp is HUMONGOUS! Nobody has a head that big. It is adjustable, but only to make it larger. If they kicked you off the football team because they couldn't find a helmet to fit you, this is the headset for you. You can sort of position it in different ways so that it sits at a bit of an angle on your head, then move the mic. And I might tie a strap across the top of the headset to effectively make it smaller. On the plus side, it will fit comfortably if you wear it over a hat. I have a pretty average sized head (7 hat size), and I can finagle it to sit OK. Also, the reduced tension is convenient in some respects as it doesn't become uncomfortable when wearing with glasses. The down side to the size is the tension isn't perfect so it's a little loose if you jerk your head around. But I do admit - it's more of a mild annoyance than a deal breaker.- No volume control. Seriously, how hard is this? I have to turn the phone volume down pretty low, but at least it's not blasting in my ears like some of the earbud style headsets that also lack volume control.- The cord is super long. If you like a really long cord, then it's fine. If you just want to slide your phone into your pocket while you walk around and talk, the cord is a bit floppy for that. Although, to balance it out, it does have the clip. (see Pros)- The wire is pretty thin. I've been using my headset for about a week with no issues, though I've seen some reviews that reference poor product quality. While I haven't sliced the cord open like I have with other headsets, I'm almost certain what's inside is that cheap-o obnoxious acrylic-coated wire with the cotton insulation woven in. Ugh. (I also tried to solder a number of headsets to connectors to fit my phone - with little success) Anyway, all I can say is, while it probably won't take a significant beating, mine seems to be doing OK for now after a week of moderate use.Bottom line: I'm happy I made the purchase (and in fact, I bought two to have one handy in both of the places I do the most talking). There are some definite selling points to this headset, not the least of which is you're not irradiating your head with electromagnetic waves while you talk. It's also a cheap, convenient pairing to an Android phone (at least, it works with my Droid 3, which appears to have the 3.5mm TRRS connector that has become popular with a number of newer devices) with decent sound quality and works well with glasses. But that said, it has its detractors, too. I guess you can only ask so much out of a product on sale for under ten bucks. For such a basic thing (over the ear corded headset for modern mobile phones), you'd think there'd be more competition in the market. But apparently not. All things considered, if there can be only one corded headset with a boom mic that works with Android phones, this one is basically OK. 3Hit or miss, very bad quality. Not good quality at all. Bought 2 of these based off other reviews. Very disappointed in both of them. The mouthpiece needs to be directly in front of your mouth, practically against your lips for the people on the other end to hear you. Rather flimsily made. The adjustable head piece came apart after only a few weeks on one of the units. On the other the speaker in the earpiece came loose and now rattled around and difficult to hear from it now.Would NOT recommend.Should have returned both of them after the first few weeks of using them but i procrastinated. 1Cheap But Useful I wanted to find a single ear, wired headset for my Android phone. There were plenty of options that there two or three times more expensive. So by trying the cheapest option, I was taking a measured risk. As it turned out, this option works very well. I mainly use this to talk on my cell phone. The volume is loud and call quality is clear. People I speak to can hear me clearly. The only downside to buying a headset that is $10 is that the plastic feels cheap and light. But honestly, if you keep these at your desk and don't transport them too much, such as keeping them in a bag or briefcase, you should get good mileage out of these headphones. One final note, the headband is adjustable and it definitely fits my large head. 5The Wired Talker I use this in my home office. Has a long cord that doesn't get tangled. Sound quality is really great. People hear me just fine. I like the hang up feature on the cord...I just press a button and it disconnects the call.Having a comfortable headset was important. After awhile most headsets hurt your ear even if it has a cushion. This headset I wear for hours and I forget it's on. I'm really happy with it and will be purchasing the same model for my other office. 5Sounds great, built well, just a little too snug. I ordered two of these for use with new smartphones with 3.5mm plugs. They are still young and have only been used a few times each. Overall so far so good. They sound great in both directions and seem to be well constructed. At this point I would expect them to last a long time but only time will tell. I'm giving them 4 stars because the headband is surprisingly tight, as if it were made for a small child's head. The two adults in the household agree on this point. For short conversations it's no big deal but for long conversations, which is why we want a headset in the first place, the pressure the pad puts on your non-listening side is uncomfortable. The earpiece is fine (although definitely snug) -- only the pad on the other side gets uncomfortable. I'm hoping that with more usage the spring force of the headband lessens as it stretches out, and if that's the case I'll come back here and update my stars. All that said, for the price it's a great headset even with the tight headband and I wouldn't pay much more for one that was more comfortable. So I do highly recommend this to people who prefer wired headsets and need 3.5mm plugs. 4
