Customer Reviews

Overall good, needs better adhesive. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars with this product was the strength of the adhesive on the new digitizer. The removal of the old screen is a bear to get off. Thankfully mine came off without too much extra trouble. I love that this package comes with the most common spare parts that you will break during removal. Not all of the repair kits do so. I didn't end up needing any extra pieces, but it was comforting to know I didn't have to buy something else if I did need them. Installation went well and I followed the directions completely removing all old adhesive. Still to this day (it's been a few months), the sides of the screen will not completely be stuck down. Doesn't change a lot, but when you press on those areas the first time you pick up the Ipad, it will shift slightly. Overall, the replacement parts work as they should though.4Great replacement, if you need a new digitizer, grab it nowPerfect fit, responsive, comes with the home button and adhesive, a spare WiFi antenna and a solid tool kit for getting the job done at a great price. My iPad is back in business. (Nicked the digitizer cable installing a new battery so happy it wasn t a costly error, beware the YouTube vids, watched three and not one mentioned the cables location or advised extra caution in that area of the screen)5DO NOT buy from seller "Device Doctor", they are not selling genuine FixCracked products.DO NOT buy from seller "Device Doctor", they are not selling genuine FixCracked products. In November I purchased 5 from seller "Device Doctor" and they came in an unbranded box, the adhesive didn't stick and the home button didn't work, it moves around. In October I purchased 5 from from seller "fixcrackeddirect" and the screens worked perfect, it seems they are the product owner and manufacture.1Digitizer was not workingPicked this product because it was the most expensive one in the category with the highest number of reviews/ buyers. I m pretty handy and went through a step by step video off YouTube and methodically and successfully removed the original glass, disconnected the cables removed the bezel, cleaned the frame and reconnected the cables of this product and luckily the video suggested testing it by turning o mahe iPad before adhering it. No luck, to my utter disappointment and despite a spotless install (I video documented mine to that point hoping to upload to YouTube to help others!) So to recap, the digitizer and home button were absolutely non responsive, and I repackaged everything and returned right away. The tools they provide in the package though are not flimsy and they are surprisingly quite effective and I did not need to use any other tools in order to open the iPad. I went ahead and ordered a glass/ digitizer of another brand which is less expensive and in delivery right now. Problem is that with this Fixcrackef item not working, the iPad has now remained on, running the risk of shorting the circuitry during the second install. If the new screen doesn t work either, will turn the iPad in and pay the high cost of having it professionally fixed.2Comes with tools, new bezel, wifi antenna, Home button and adhesive pre-installed, but DID NOT work!Digitizer replacement kit seemed to be complete, nice assortment of tools, included new bezel, wifi antenna, Home button was pre-installed, adhesive was pre-applied, just have to remove adhesive backing before applying to iPad.That is where the good stops! I found the cables to attach the digitizer and Home button to the iPad to be very thin and difficult to handle, but I was able to get both fully inserted. I tested the digitizer before attempting to glue in place, thank goodness, the digitizer nor the Home button worked. I tried re-inserting the cables, still no luck.My old digitizer worked, but the top 1/4 of the screen was dead. I was able to remove it intact, so I had to put it back on my iPad to be able to turn it off since the new screen did not work at all, luckily it worked as it had before removing, I was able to turn off the iPad.I returned the kit for full refund, bought another brand for same price (but it did not include bezel or wifi antenna, neither of which I needed), the new one seemed to be a much better quality, cables were better quality, worked on first try! I removed the adhesive backing and put it in place permanently, my old iPad 4 is now like new!I do not recommend this screen, please check all the reviews before buying, sort by latest.BTW, I see many comments about strands of hot melt glue on back of screen, mine had that too, but it was actually on the clear protective layer that you are to remove before permanently affixing screen. There is a tab to grab the protective layer under the Home button ribbon cable. There is a protective layer on the front of the screen as well, but it is a bit more obvious than the one on back of screen.1Good, but home button needs improvementThe instructions included were good, although I'd recommend anyone attempting this to head over to iFixit.com for step by step instructions with photos included. I give this 4 stars because it's nice that they included a replacement wifi module but 1 star is lost because the home button is pretty low quality, I ended up taking the OEM button and using that instead. The adhesive on this replacement glass isn't up to the same quality as OEM as well, but for $20, I can look past that. If you have the cellular CDMA/GSM model, take care when prying the top part off. There is a rectangular cellular antenna on the left and right of the face camera. They are adhered to the glass so take caution when prying them off. IF you don't care about cellular then by all means whatever. Be careful when attaching the new digitizer ribbon cable to the motherboard connectors. It takes a bit of force to get them to insert because the OEM cable is a very very very small amount thinner than this replacement, I would estimate about 1/10 mm thinner than this cable. It took approximately 2 hours to do this replacement. My main piece of advice is to TAKE IT SLOW. Before tackling this job, make sure to cover your entire glass screen with clear tape, this ensures when you are prying the glass off the small glass shards don't pierce your fingers. Believe me, the glass WILL crack under the pressure of prying. I used a hair dryer to slowly warm the edges so the OEM adhesive will be easier to remove. The flat metal scraper included is the best tool, I didn't even use any of the rest. Make sure to be careful to make sure the home button ribbon cable is properly secured in place on the motherboard. The first time when attaching glass onto iPad, I didn't realize the ribbon cable slipped out of the connector so I had to carefully heat and pry the glass off AGAIN and take the LCD screen off the reattach the cable.4There should be a link provided to a youtube video or something like that. And even though i sat it upside ...I almost gave this 5 stars because it literally does come with everything needed (tools). However, the instructions were only for removal. There should be a link provided to a youtube video or something like that. And even though i sat it upside down with some heavy text books to try to make a secure seal overnight... there is lifting from poor tape quality on the replacement screen. I know that sounds like a lot of cons. However, saving over $100 by replacing it myself, I can lve with these little things. Finding someone elses youtube video to replace a screen was no problem. I dont know how I will fix the lifting but Im sure Ill find something online. Other than that- screen is working great with no glitches thus far.4Great kit, Ipad looks good as newThis worked great for me and is just as good as my old screen it seems. What was great about this is that it came with the wifi antenna which was a lifesaver because we ripped the original out on accident when replacing (even when we were being super careful). The instructions were fairly clear, but I ended up following a video instead which made the process much easier (the instruction card was so tiny you could barely figure out what the pictures were of). The whole process took about 3 hours. The one thing that another kit I've gotten in the past came with and this one didn't was a tool to lift up the original screen, but you can just use a blade. Great product though and great quality, no one would be able to tell the difference.5iPad back from the deadNothing like grandkids dropping your iPad and shattering it. Read a bunch of review on new digitizers and decided I liked the spare antennae and tool kit, although I have a number of tool kits from repairing iPhones, I wanted the job to be easy. Instructions are weak so watch a video to get an idea how to do this easy job. Using a heat gun I pulled off the shattered digitizer and unscrewed the display. It came apart easy - you don't need a lot of heat. Cleaned out the glass shards, and used alcohol to help remove the residual glue. This was the longest part. I didn't damage the antennae when I pulled it apart so no need to install the new one. Put the new gasket on, plugged in the cables (push the digitizer cable down and into the case or it won't close), screwed in the display, then tested it before pulling off the tape covers. Once I was satisfied it worked, I pulled the covers and pressed it down. Works like a charm. The box looked like an authentic Fixcracked. Packaging was very good. I liked getting the new black gasket and the pre-glued digitizer, and the tool kit will work for any iPad and most iPhones. I also liked that the digitizer had the metal gasket for the camera AND the home button already installed. All in all very happy to have the iPad back. I'll add to this review later if I end up having any problems with it, but for now very satisfied with the product.5Good kit! This is the one you need. The perfect kit. I was scared to try a DIY screen replacement on an iPad...but was not going to pay over $100 to take it in to a shop again. This kit had everything I needed. Definitely recommend getting this kit with the replacement plastic bezel and the wifi antenna (I was trying to be careful, but did damage the one in the device while removing the broken screen. The only reason it gets 4 stars, vice 5 is the instructions are so dang small. I did watch two youtube videos that were extremely helpful: one "ipad 2 broken screen replacement" by Phonedoctors and "ipad 2 wifi antenna replacement tutorial" by Rogue Parts. If you are removing a broken screen, put packing tape over it prior to removal to keep glass from falling all over the place (this was a tip in the package instructions that was helpful). As far as the tools go, I used that blue pry tool, the green screwdriver, the metal pry/scraper tool & the plastic tool. didn't need the suction cup or guitar pic thingy. I do love that this screwdriver is magnetic...there's some teeny tiny screws...especially for the wifi antenna!Take your time on this project and it will go well. Between watching videos and going through the process, I thing I spent about 2 - 2 1/2 hours working on this thing (again...my first time ever doing anything like this!)...but it works and looks like a professional did it.4
