    Great for microphone I bought this adapter to improve my mic audio quality.But I'll start with sound quality, was curious about this too. Well, this sounds not really well. Maybe on par with integrated audio, maybe a bit worse. You'll notice lack of bass and piercing treble. So, for audio/music - not that good, but that's just as with any cheap USB audio adapter.But it does very good job with mic. It only mono mic in, but that's enough. I highly recommend to buy as long USB cable as possible to move it as far away from your PC as possible. It will neutralize all interference that is coming from PC, power supply and other hardware installed. I tried supplied cable, 2 meter (6 feet) and 3 meter (10 feet) USB cables. 1st and 2nd were okay, but had some pulsating noise. With the longest one and the longest distance from PC case, it works perfectly. My mic sounds crystal clear now, friends say it's like "studio quality".So, the adapter itself won't make magic, but if you place it and your "analogue" mic cord as far as possible and use longes possibel digital USB cable, it will provide great mic audio quality result.Oh, I was really impressed by high-quality box, print and short USB cable included. Looked and felt like a product worth $50-100.Given the above, can recommend this device, but you'll need to connect it properly. 5Works Perfectly With A PS4 Using this to turn a regular 3.5mm headset into a USB headset on my PS4. Yes, I can just plug into the controller with the 3.5mm plug. However, I'm playing Street Fighter V with a fightstick. I prefer to use the Brook PS3 to PS4 Super Converter to plug straight into the PS4 instead of using the "Legacy Controller" option in the game. With the converter, I don't need to have a PS4 controller on to use the fightstick. However, the downside of using the converter is I can't use my headset. With this sound adapter, that fixes that problem. Yes, now there's a lot of wires coming from PS4 but now I don't need the PS4 controller to navigate with the PS4 menus, something the "Legacy Controller" option doesn't let you do.As for the actual sound, it works as advertised. No hissing, audio cutting in/out, and mic audio seem to be just fine as well. 5WARNING - Low Voltage WARNING - All Sabrent USB Audio adapters are using a different chip compared to what they were years ago. This new chip produces 3v instead of 5v, and because of this, will make using it with many microphones extremely quiet in comparison. Do not get this. It will be hit or miss as it provides a lower power level than it should. 1Works fine but Windows 10 doesn't At first we thought this device was broken, but it worked on our desktop PCs, but not our laptop. After a LOT of internet research, and fixes that didn't help whatsoever, we finally figured out the windows 10 laptop needed a few more programs that help fix the default Microsoft sound drivers.Once those were installed, this thing worked like a charm.(I'll edit this review when I can confirm the name of those two programs)Okay the programs needed to boost your pre-amp levels on the 2 laptops I tested (HP Spectre and MSI PE60), areEqualizer APO, which is an exe that edits your sound settings, gives you more controls than windows natively does.Peace UI, which is the user interface for Equalizer APO.These two programs allowed my mic to work really nicely when before I couldn't hear it at all. (Phantom Powered condenser mic) 5Awesome USB sound card adapter fixed my issues! (See side note) Side note: The product I received may have been a returned product due to small scratches and smudges on the USB housing (see added pictures) and you should ALSO NOTE that my opinion on the product itself is not affected by this.I bought this as a fix to the issues I was having with my new Antlion ModMic because the microphone was either too loud, too quiet, or there was too much noise in the audio (possible bad compatibility with motherboard audio). With this USB adapter all of that was fixed, the microphone audio is crystal clear and there is no noise to be found!Feels sturdy with the aluminum housing and looks great as well! 5So a musician friend of mine recommended the Sabrent USB adapter I have a Mac Mini. For the audio I use via an rca input into the mac mini headphone jack and two stereo plugs into the receiver. Seems cut and dry, but not the case. I had to on many occasions jiggle the connection to the mac mini to get the sound to come through the speakers. I contacted Mac/apple care and they said it could be the mother board( covered under warranty, $600.00), so I thought maybe it's the receiver, so I replaced the receiver. Still had the problem, so Apple replaced the mother board because the head phone jack is part of it rather than separate! Long story short, which is difficult in this situation, it didn't work. So a musician friend of mine recommended the Sabrent USB adapter. I should have used this from the get go. It works perfectly, no problem and it matches the Apple color scheme. In addition it comes with an extender cord so its not butting up against the usb port. I give it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who needs quality sound from their computer through their receiver. It just seems hard to believe that I am the only one having this problem, but hopefully by writing this review I will see that I am not the only one. I bought this for daughter, who just got a new tablet laptop conversion thingy LOTS of $$$$$, and her head phones don't work with 3.5mm jack go figure. no sound in all 4 head set, except my USB set. HMMM I smell a conspiracy forcing me to buy new headsets.This, is the work of the Capitalist Man , they re in collusion with the headphone companies jvc, rca, sony, ect, to make the public USB drones. yeah that's it! I'm sure of it! LOL.Anyway, i cheated those capitalist swine, by Supporting the common man and bought this device for under $10 and it WORKS PERFECT!.My daughter said all her headsets now work good! no static, no humm/buzz, no sound quality loss. I didn't have to buy a $20+ headset from the capitalist MAN. MANY THANKS for the savings.Thx 5Nice Basic Sound Card for DJs If you are laptop DJing you need a second sound card if you want to be able to preview tracks with your headphones. These work perfectly. Plug and play, just set your internal card to "default" and select this card for previewing in the program you're using. This card works great, and has enough oomph to push my larger headphones to a high volume.For the price I wasn't expecting this quality. It's tiny but it's sturdy and aluminum. It also comes with a short USB extension cable. This is good for two reasons. First, it keeps the card's wide body from blocking any other adjacent USB ports. Second, it gives you a little extra "play" so your headphones aren't tugging on or putting pressure on the USB port (possibly damaging it).If you need a second card for DJing or a basic card to replace a damaged internal card this should do the trick. 5It just works, and it rocks. Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have been struggling with the audio output on my Shuttle XPC. I'd fiddle with different driver settings, try thing suggested in the different discussion groups, etc. I spent hours messing with this. All I wanted was simple L/R stereo line out to go to a pair of powered speakers. I managed to get it working for a while, then I unplugged my PC to move it and when I rebooted the sound was gone again. The Control Panel always reports that the speakers are "not plugged in" even though they are.Yesterday I decided to throw in the towel and order one of these. It arrived today. less than 60 seconds after I plugged it in I had working sound again. To my ears it sounds every bit as good as the fancy line output of the motherboard (when it was working). The key thing is, it works, and it's about as simple as it gets.I only wish I'd purchased it weeks ago, I'd have more hair on my head and less stress.Thank you Sabrent for this device. 5Works Great but may need reinforcement Overall I am quite happy with this product. Not only does it allow me to use a separate set of headphones with my Lenovo W550S Thinkpad laptop, but it also allows me to plug in a separate audio source. This is useful both in my daily studies and work, as I enjoy listening to music while working, and it also allows me to record things directly without a USB equipped audio device. One example of this is my Numark turntable which I am able to use to record vinyl directly to my laptop using an RCA to 1/8" stereo adapter now. This would not have been possible before as my laptop is only equipped with a combination TRRS (tip ring ring send) headset connector intended for headphones with an integrated microphone.The product came in an attractive package that was easy to open. I plugged the device into my USB hub that is linked to my laptop, and without any driver installation or setup, it functioned flawlessly. The device was well constructed and the jacks fit tightly as they should. Sadly I overlooked how the normally unused USB port on my USB hub was very tight due to it's history of disuse, and upon attempting to pull the USB audio output out from the USB slot, it came apart.Upon gluing the enclosure back on with a few drops of CA super glue, I was able to plug it back in and use it as I just had before.When looking inside of the device, I noticed that it had a very good build quality, with no noticeable flaws or issues.The aluminum housing is very nice and came to me with no flaws or marks.Besides the housing falling apart due to some minor strain, the item still works flawlessly and I am quite happy with it. 4
