Customer Reviews

Absolute Best! Quality made and gets the job done. Period. This Aircom product is thee Best! Just as all of the other reviews stated, you will know immediately that you bought a quality product as it is made very well and installs effortlessly... the control panels work perfectly to your desired settings. I have 2 of these-different sizes for my TV speaker receiver and for my cable box. My setup is on a outside screened in covered porch in Florida... components can get REAL hot here and had already lost a receiver due to heat/humidity... NOT with THIS AIRCOM!!! Keeps components cool all day everyday... no overheating now to worry about even when the components are turned off, Aircom self adjusts to temps by settings. This is the Best product to get people! Works like a dream and does its job. Love it!5Very good bang for the buck !!!!!!!!I decided to purchase this item after reading all the reviews. I was skeptical of this cooling fan system because I have a power amplifier that produces a lot of heat !!!! It is 600 watts per channel power amp. I honestly did not think this might help to lower the heat of the beast of an amplifier I use !!!! Hooking up was a breeze! Instructions were very easy to understand and the product looks solid. So, I set up the unit to run in "auto" mode. My amp has been hot for three hours prior to setting this thing up. amp was very hot to the touch!!!!!!! I let this unit run for about an hour and checked the heat emitting from the amp. I immediately felt it became much cooler to the touch !!!!!!!!!!! I was very much impressed how this little machine could lower the heat of the amp by that much !!!!!!!!!!! I am very satisfied with the product. In a full-speed setting, this produces a little noise but if you are playing something loud, you would not hear it. But if you listen to music with quiet passages, you are going to hear a faint noise from the fans... Nevertheless, it is a very handy gadget to have if you own audio gear that can put out a lot of heat. I am pretty sure you will be able to use your equipment much longer if you use this !!!!!!!!!!!!! It is worth every penny and more. Plus the warranty is very generous for such a small product.. ( two years) I am glad I bought this. AC Infinity got a winner in their hands !!!!!!!!!!!5Wow a product that really solves a problemYou would think with all the electrical engineers out there, DirectTV would have appropriately designed a receiver that included a cooling fan considering the level of heat their product generates. Well with that being said the engineers have created a great product to overcome this shortfall. It has solved the overheating error message, it is quiet, and it simply works. You need to be aware of your specific configuration as they have 2 models; one exhausts through the top of the unit and the other through the rear.Wonderful product for something I didn't know I needed.5perfectThe receiver and cable box were cool to the touch within minutes. Full blast, it's quite audible, but half speed keeps every thing cool and is virtually silent. It also goes on standby when receiver and cable box are turned off, and comes on when the temp goes up. I fully expect this fan to extend the life of my receiver.5I m kinda blown away... no pun intended.I bought this to try and cool an Onkyo receiver that is in a fairly small ikea cabinet with no front doors and minimal rear venting.I m not sure what I was expecting but whatever those expectations were they ve been exceeded. Right off the bat this unit comes well packaged with a slick manual. Unboxing the unit, I was immediately struck by how solid the unit feels. If nothing else, I thought, it is screwed together well.Setup was a simple as it gets: plug it in and place it on top of your receiver. I did play with the settings a little bit but found the smart mode was far and away the best option. I also liked how you can turn off the fan speed indicator light as it s quite bright. In operation the fans are very quiet with the exception of them running at their highest speed. It s worth noting that this never happened with my unit in smart mode even after running my onkyo for several hours. Normally, after just 20 minutes the onkyo would be too hot to touch as there is only about 2 inches of clearance above the unit and the air just sits and cooks (the onkyo has mostly passive cooling). I clearly ordered the wrong size fan but despite that this little beast cleared the heat effortlessly. After a full 3 hours of operation the top of my onkyo was cool to the touch. I can t describe how amazing this is considering this onkyo cooks even when sitting on an open shelf. Wow!I m so impressed I ordered a second console fan (this time the larger unit) and will move this one into my spare room to cool a smaller receiver. Not that I really need the larger unit as this one really gets the job done but I think I like the aesthetics of the full 17 unit better.Highly recommended to anyone with hot boxes! :)5Definitely worksMy DirecTV receiver (I own it) has been doing strange things. It finally started over temping at I believe 128 degrees. I purchased this device and the receiver is now at 97 degrees. Easy setup. I have it set to run in smart mode. That is, fan comes on when needed and fan speed varies by receiver temperature. Normally the fans are slightly noticeable, you have to listen for them. When the room heats up to about 84 degrees because the house AC is off, the fans go in to high speed mode. You will definetly hear the fans. This does not bother me because I don't usually sit around and watch TV in a room that is 84 degrees. I wish I would have found this sooner. I don't know how many heat related problems I could have prevented in the past with this device.5Stout and quality built piece of equipment for sure!!I bought this to add on to the top of my "new to me" mint condition Denon AVR-3310ci reciever (coming from a very out dated AVR-1609 with no hdmi). I wanted something to help keep the temps down since it is much taller and stouter than my old 1609 reciever. I had my old one as well as my new one in a somewhat "open" area on the bottom of my glass TV stand but it sits much much closer to the top of the glass and didn't have much room to breath at all. I took my measurements and just barely was able to squeeze this AIRCOM S6 in between the glass and the Denon. I however had to take the 4 pre assembled feet with rubber isolators off of the AIRCOM S6 to get it in there but it does not affect it. I put some much smaller rubber feet back on it that I had for misc things around the house. I must say I was reluctant to spend nearly $50 on this thing, being the tight wad that I am, but as soon as I fired this baby up I was so glad I did! I'm here to say DO NOT HESITATE to purchase ANY of their products. I can only speak in reference to thing specifically but I would assume their next levels of cooling units only get better the more you go up and this S6 that I have is one beastly and the strongest built cooling unit I have come across. I expected it to be a frame of plastic with two generic low rpm 120mm fans thrown in it and that is far from what I received. This is a top notch add on for any Audiophile or Home theater enthusiast that is needing some extra movement in cool air. I can't even get my AVR to heat up on the most demanding songs or movies it stays completely cool and doesn't even get warm anymore. Before hand, it was getting so warm you didn't want to even touch it, this thing takes care of that without breaking a sweat. Sure it is a little loud on the highest setting but anything below the top level on the fan speed is more than tolerable. I always have a fan going in any room in my house so it blends in just fine! I have to say I am very pleased, I don't have but more than a couple days use on it but so far so good! I will write back in a month or two and see how it's doing then and report back. If you're at all hesitating to click the buy button, DO IT NOW! Well worth the money in my opinion by far!5Why didn't someone bring this product to market 20 years ago!?! And why didn't I think of it!?!The Aircom S6 works great for keeping my A/V receiver cool. My last three surround receivers have been Denons and none of them have failed. And that's partly because I either always made sure they were well ventilated or had a 'muffin fan' (thin, DC powered fan, like you find in desktop computers) sitting on top of them. I would run the fan at a lower voltage, so it would spin more slowly and thus was effectively silent at 6 feet away. My 4k capable Denon receiver has fans in it, but they never heard them run under everyday usage and the unit gets hot (when I tried it with my fan shut off for a day). This is because the cabinet I have had to switch to has less clearance above than is ideal. I was on my third muffin fan, because they typically last about 5 years. And I was literally about to pull the trigger on a fourth fan, because number three was starting to show its age with being noisier. That's when a friend turned me onto the Aircom series of coolers (was surprised I wasn't familiar, since I'm keep up on A/V gear!). He had just bought one himself and for his hot amplifier and is very happy with it. And then I come to find out that another friend also recently bought one for his new 4k Marantz receiver. Both of them were very happy with them. (One has the S6, the other one of the higher models with LCD). Both of them said they wished the unit was slightly quieter on the lowest setting, but they can live with it. When selecting the right model for me, I decided I didn't need fancy, just basic cooling. Thus my choice of the S6. As you may already know the S6 is one of the Aircom coolers that sucks in air from the bottom and blows it out the rear. This is what you want if either you have limited clearance above the receiver, or you have a more closed off cabinet (because having a model that blows upward will not push the hot air out of the cabinet, just circulate it). I suspect for most people the rear-blowing models are the best choice. I keep my S6 on the auto/smart mode and the lowest speed setting, and it keeps my receiver just slightly warm to the touch, just like I want. I would never use the higher speeds, as they are way too loud (definitely for an equipment room/closet situation only). I agree with my friends that the S6 could be quieter on the lowest setting. It is unfortunately slightly audible during the quietest passages. But this has only been noticeable on maybe two occasions so far. But this audibility is one of the reasons that I give the Aircom S6 four stars, instead of five. If it was effectively silent at a distance of 6 feet, I would gladly award it the full five stars. I hope that this product has a long lifespan. I expect it to last at least 5 years without getting any noisier. If it doesn't, I will go back to a muffin fan (that is a fraction of the price). The other reason I cannot give the Aircom product five stars is that the power connector on the rear is easily disconnected when you are working with other cables in A/V system (or have an animal that is adventurous and refuses to stay out of your cables). There needs to be some kind of way to secure the connector, or at a minimum, a cord clip that holds the cord firm when it gets tugged. I ended up zip-tie-ing the cord to one of the slats on the back of the unit. AC Infinity should make a Gen. 2 of their product range that is even quieter and has a means to secure the power cord or connector. Then they would have a 5 Star product.4Keeps my Denon AVR-X400H cool and runs quietly! When I purchased my Denon receiver there were a lot of reviewers indicating that the Denon operated hot. So I purchased this Blower system to suck cooling air through the bottom and out the top of the Denon. This unit sits on top of the Denon. I love that I can set this unit up to monitor for hot air, set it run when the air from the Denon is higher than 86 degrees, and continue to run after I turn off the Denon until the air is cool again. Then it turns off the fans. The lights on front can also be set to either be off, on, or even a dial like lighting that tells you what temperature its operating at and what fan speed. Mine runs at half-dial lit up so I know that it is at 50% power to keep the Denon at 86 degrees or cooler. The fan is very quiet, you can barely hear it when the AV system is off (you really have to listen for it) and it definitely does not impact your audio experience. The only thing that would have been nice would have been to include a magnetic filter to place on the bottom of the receiver since air flow through the receiver will be increased a great deal and sucking that dust into the receiver.5great solution I didn't know existedI had a Denon AV receiver go down on me. :-( Started randomly crackling and popping on me. I was always surprised by how much heat it put off, which would build up in my TV cabinet, and sorta concerned me, but never enough to do anything about it - until it flaked out. I went back to using an older Denon unit, and bought this to stick on top of it, to cool the unit and the cabinet, and it seems to be doing a great job. I never hear it, and when I check (by touch) the temp of the top of the receiver, it's always MUCH cooler than the old unit used to be. Didn't even know such a product as this existed, but I'm glad I got it and happy with it thus far... I hope it helps me get a lot more life out of my home theater receiver than I might have gotten otherwise with my (apparently) poorly ventilated setup.5
