    I would definitely recommend them. 'My thirteen year old son is a long time astronomy buff and he absolutely *loves* these. To quote: 'I can see the Orion Nebula; I can see the craters on the moon and I can see the Pleiades close up. I would definitely recommend them.' 5Finally, after a lot of trial and error...If you only want/need one pair of binoculars for the house, this is it - fully multi-coated, wide-angle, great for both backyard nature and the night sky too. For birding in the field I use the smaller/lighter Orion 8x42 wide-angle Ultra View (FOV 8.2 degrees!). Japanese optics at a fair and reasonable price. 5Wow!Wow. I figured i needed to upgrade the 7 x 35 binocs that we've had around for a while. looked at the reviews (thanks to all for those reviews). I had just bought an Orion 8 inch reflector telescope and it was amazing, so, given the positive reviews on these binoculars, i took the plunge. As soon as I looked through them, i knew they were amazing. When I couldn't get them out of my wife's hands, I knew that I had to go order another one. These are seriously good binoculars, right out of the box. a few hints. the quarter turn eye piece adjustment was a bit sticky but i forced it loose and is now fine. the rubber eye "hoods" can come off (when forcing the quarter turn eye piece adjustment) but they slip back on. really really good quality 5Better than my Vixen AscotsBetter than my Vixen Ascots...never thought I'd see the day. I've had my Vixen Ascots for many years and I bought my Orion 10x50s as "companion" binoculars for when my young nephew visits. It turns out the Orions are actually better. Orions can resolve Polaris B and Jupiter's brightest moons fine but but my Vixen Ascots cannot under relatively light polluted skies of Chandler AZ. 5Five StarsThe best bino's!! Love them. Highly recommended! Orion has great customer service as well. 5These aren't as big and as powerful but have really good light transmissionI bought these as well as the Celestron brand to compare. These aren't as big and as powerful but have really good light transmission. These are fully multi coated and the Celestron are just multi coated. I can definitely tell a difference in star color and sharpness when used at night. The right eye piece focus adjustment is a bit odd compared to others I've used and seems a bit difficult to tell at what point is in focus. They attach to a tripod very easily and make them more steady. I've used them without a tripod easily. The eye relief parts "screw out" instead of having flimsy rubber "rings" that fold back etc. I like it better. Will last longer than the rubber style. The carry bag is nicely made and comes with a micro fiber cloth. They don't weigh too much to hold for extended periods of time (at least for me). 4Impressively Uncollimated BinocularsNever have I seen through a pair of binoculars so uncollimated as these. They are two reasonably high quality 50mm monoculars that point in the same general direction. I cannot believe these would escape the factory with this poor level of QA. I can only presume that near absence of padding in the shipping package contributed to their loss of collimation. Perhaps my return of these binoculars in the samesaid box will knock them back into alignment. But I doubt it. 1GreatVery nice binoculars, very high quality, easy to find anything in the sky. 5Love these binocularsLove these binoculars! Well made and powerful. If you are using these for gazing at the moon and other celestial objects, I recommend a tripod. These rival many 4" telescopes. Very clear and gather light extremely well at night. 5Great high quality binoculars!This is a good pair for taking anywhere when you dont want to haul a telescope around or just for quick views of the night sky. I can see the andromeda galaxy even from my light polluted city. 5
