    Really nice power supply!This is a very nice unit with little to no noise, good craftsmanship, and sturdy. 5Buy an AstronSo i saved myself 50 bucks of so.If i had to do it again I would get the Astron.It's a fairly noisy,and runs very warm.I keep a cooling fan on it now to keep it cool.I have used Astron's for years and i should have stuck with them. 2Packs a punch.**UPDATE** I am still using the power supply with the same radio. Still no issues.This beast is heavy, big, and has plenty of power. I use it in my garage to run my RCI2970N2. Power supply is quiet. Have had no issues or heat problems. I don't yak on the radio all day to heat it up a lot but when I talk it does its job. 5Runs 24 hrs/day when I ask it toThis powers a VHF linear AMP. It runs day and night when asked, with out a burp. What more can you say. It's quiet, too. 5heavy power supply.I bought this power supply from amazon but it arrived crunched on one side and defective.I had someone tell me that it was worth more than the 220.00 dollars I payed for it.Unfortunatly it was not packaged with enough protection and it must of been dropped during shipment and damaged.I went and bought this item from another seller although it cost me a little more than I payed at amazon, it arrived in good condition.items this heavy need to packaged with care and LOTS and LOTS of packaging material.I hope Amazon learns to package heavy items more carefully.It still is a very good power supply. 4Tripp Lite PR50 Power SupplyI've been using this product about 3 weeks with no complaints at all. The unit runs a Yaesu FT-950 Ham Radio Transceiver. The unit is rock solid, no voltage sag, no noise, the heat is pronounced, no vibration and no hum. The shipping container is an embarrassment and was damaged. The internal brown packing paper is a joke for a product this heavy. Lastly this one is truly a quality control issue, the rubber feet are missing. I'll contact Tripp Lite and see what gives. 4Well engineered and manufacturedWhile it is well-suited for my purpose, engineered and manufactured the unit is packaged correctly for store shelving, and for shipment, but NOT inserted into a flimsy, thin pasteboard box without padding between the shipping box and the factory packaging.This power supply weighs 30 pounds, it is heavy and shippers tend to be careless. My PR-50 arrived with a dented and bent case, but fortunately it still worked, at least for now.I give the PR-50 itself 5 stars, the packing for shipment an F- !
