Customer Reviews

Will require concrete anchor screws for mounting over a fireplace and M8 40mm screws for a Samsung 65" MU800D TV Very sturdy and easy to install. I installed this mount on my brick fireplace. I used Tapcon 5/16" x 2-1/4 concrete anchors (see attached picture) to secure the mount to the brick. Marked my holes and made sure they unit would be level before drilling. Some videos on YouTube suggest drilling into the grout. I decided not to do that for fear of damaging the grout. I drilled directly into the brick. Be sure to vacuum out any debris within the holes after drilling. My TV is a Samsung 65" 8 series MU800D. Beware the screws that come with the mount WILL NOT fit the bottom holes when you attach the brackets to the back of this particular TV. The M8 50mm screws are too big and the 35mm screws are too short. I went to Lowes and purchased M8 1.25 x 40mm screws (see attached picture) and washers to use for the bottom holes of the bracket which fit perfectly. I used the M8 25mm screws that came with the mount for the top holes of the bracket on the back of the TV. Other than this caveat with the screws the mount fit my TV perfectly and is a solid device. Very happy with this purchase. 5Good packaging, everything wrapped and packed well with no ... This is the first mount I've purchased. Good packaging, everything wrapped and packed well with no scratches or damage. Mount is strong seems well made. All hardware was included and included lag bolts seemed good enough. Was surprised I didn't need a trip to the hardware store. Only hung a 42" Samsung so it was a pretty light TV but the mount seems like it would be fine for larger TV's. The mount was easy to hang level and the TV sat level the first time with no sag. TV is easy to move, but the movement is tight so it stays in place. I installed a sewell wall blade (double gang box sized) in between the mounting rails, basically inside the mount, not below it or above it. so there is enough room inside the mount rails for a power outlet and another box for HDMI or whatever. The mount does collapse somewhat into this area so if you put boxes inside the mount, and not above or below, make sure the cables will not interfere with the mount if you intend to push the TV all the way flat to the wall. It worked fine for my install. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and I feel like it was good value for money. 5Overall, a good quality mount that I trust. Really very good. It did NOT include the M8-1.25x45mm screws needed for my Samsung UN65MU8500. However Lowes had them for about $3.50 for 4. I wish it had a template to mark drill holes as the unit is pretty heavy to hold against the wall. I borrowed a very high end stud finder from work that was 80% useless on my plaster/blueboard walls. I found studs by removing a HVAC supply louvre and a duplex wall outlet cover that let me see where at least 2 studs were. I measured from these studs to the studs i needed and drilled small test holes until i was confident I had a good center on the studs. The lags went in tight and required more torque than my battery drill could muster. That is a good thing. On setting the 50+ lb. TV on the mount (scary..heavy, delicate..recommend 2 people for a 65"), I was out of level by 3/4" over the width of the tv. Oh no! The mount is small enough that it isn't noticeable when looking at just the mount..but a small error on the mount = large error on the tv. Do I have to pull the lags out, move down the wall an inch or two, and try again? I could have sworn I read this mount has post install leveling. While not evident in the instructions (which were decent), a quick amazon search for the word "level" revealed that there is in fact post install leveling. On the backside of the plate that has an image that looks like a wifi symbol, there are 3 M6 Allen key bolts. 1 on the top center, 2 on the bottom left & right. I loosened the 2 bottom bolts which allowed the plate to pivot axially on the top bolt. There was more than enough adjustment to level out the 3/4" error, likely a lot more. In fact, I may not have been that far out of level, it is possible that this adjustment was not square to the wall mount from factory. My recommendation for this mount is to find good stud centers for strength, have a helper to hold the 15lb mount against the wall while marking/drilling, USE A 4 OR 6 FOOT ALUMINUM LEVEL, and have a helper to help you lift a 55"-65" tv onto the mount. And if I had to do it again, I might have fashioned up some 1/16" rubber strips (likely gasket material) to put between the mount and my textured plaster/blueboard walls. When I set the weight of the tv on the mount, I could hear a slight crunch of plaster as the weight pressed against the wall, despite the mount being very tight to the wall.. NOT enough to damage the plaster. The forces are static now so it's no problem but the dynamic force of mounting it did "crunch" the plaster very slightly, just enough to hear but not visually notice.Good luck. 4Concerned about hanging a heavy tv on sheetrock wall. The Echogear is very sturdy and well made with no excessive play at all. No problem holding my tv at full extension. I was concerned about having a heavy tv hanging on a fully extended arm so I first attached a 3/4" x 36" x 12" wooden board to 3 studs in the wall. Using the board allowed for an extremely strong and secure base on which the Echogear can be positioned exactly where desired. The mounting base that is provided is too short to allow for precise positioning of the tv without using the method described. 4Excellent TV mount and a trick Outstanding design and construction! Easy to assemble. The hooks from which the TV hangs are large, making it very easy to mount TV once the main assembly is attached to the wall. I had the follow issue-where I want to center the TV was right over a stud. I mounted a 3x1 ft by 3/4"piece of maple to the the studs to either side of the center stud. I would have also put screws into the center stud if my TV was heavy but at only 37 lbs did not feel that necessary. I then screwed the TV mount to the board with 10 3/8 by 1" lag screws. Using this system, you could attached the mount anywhere left-to-right on the board, would not need to be centered 5Best mount on the market - don't hesitate to get this...it's phenomenal. This is the mount you need. Yes, it's a few more bucks than some of the mounts out there - but you likely just spent anywhere from 500 to several thousand on your TV, so why try to save 20 bucks on a cheap mount? This is the best mount I've ever seen. It's incredibly well made and moves my 70" Sony XBR effortlessly. It was very easy to install - took maybe 30 minutes - TAKE IT SLOW. You don't want to mess it up and not drill directly into the studs. If you don't drill directly into the studs, the mount is useless because it's so well made, the mount (especially with the TV on it) will just rip out of the dry wall. So you HAVE to drill directly into two studs.A couple of things I noticed that may help your decision to purchase:-The way they have you put it all together is great and makes it a breeze. The bigger the TV, I'd absolutely recommend you having 2 people. But if you have a 40" or below, you should be fine to do it yourself. You attach the two bracket pieces to the back of the TV. It gives you a few different sized screws so you'll have the correct ones for the holes on the back of your TV. My TV had screws in the holes that came with it, but not all TVs do. So they give you multiple sizes to ensure you can connect the 2 bracket pieces correctly. Then you install the mount to the wall. It takes some patience and measuring to make sure you're directly drilling into the middle of the studs, but once you do that, you're all set. You lift the TV and put the bracket pieces over the mount bars and the TV is on there. Then use the bracket fasteners that make sure it's fully secured to the mount. One thing to note - it's "on there" before you even put the bracket fasteners on. But you absolutely want to put the bracket fasteners on because there is a chance the TV would come off the mount over time by moving it back and fourth on the mount if you don't use the fasteners. But you don't have to worry about holding the TV on the mount and attaching the bracket fasteners at the same time...the TV rests on the mount and then you put them on to ensure it can't fall off.-The multiple holes on the base where you attach the huge bolts/screws that go into the studs - they are arranged so on the outside chance your studs are not perfectly distributed 16" (the norm), you'll still be fine. For some reason, one of mine was more like 15 instead of 16...not a problem. Again, just make sure you drill directly into the stud.-The bolts they give you are very large and you need the appropriate drill bit. You're not going to be able to screw them in without drilling first I can't remember what size it was, but it tells you in the directions.-The directions were pretty good and easy to follow. It's really not that hard, but it's nice to have guidance and I'd suggest reading it all first instead of just trying to do it without reading it.-The "functions" and "usability" of this mount are phenomenal. It's extremely well made as I've mentioned, but pulling it out or pushing it back in, tilting it, moving it...all very easy, but it still stays secure in the place you want it. It won't just randomly move or tilt for no reason. I listen to very loud music and movies and the bass never makes it shake or tilt or move. It's easily the best mount I've seen.In conclusion - buy this mount if you're looking for a way to secure your beloved TV to the wall. It's the best mount I've come across and it gives me complete peace of mind that my several thousand dollar investment, while "hanging on the wall", is safer and more secured than ever. 5OMG!!!! OMG! If you are looking for a super high quality articulating mount this is it. Look no further. I love this mount and will only use Echogear mounts going forward. I'll even recommend to all my friends and family. It's a rock solid mount and the quality is superior. Check out my mount job. 5ECHOGEAR Recommend Buy ! I assembled and installed the ECHOGEAR Full Motion Articulating TV wall mount to a brick wall. Then I installed an old Sony 46" KDL-46V2500 LCD TV in 51" enclose which is heavier than 70" LED TV. It was a chore for two people to mount the Sony TV just because of the weight. No problem for one person to assembling and install ECHOGEAR. I plan to replace TV with a 70" LED TV this November. At that time I will purchase my second ECHOGEAR full motion bracket to install in my study. I see no evidence of instability with the bracket what so ever, it is solid engineering. The wife loved the fact that we can pivot the screen so she can see TV from the kitchen which is at right angle to the wall that TV is mounted on. It is just about impossible to expect a masonry bit to be dead center but not to worry with ECHOGEAR, the level adjustment was simple to null out the leveling error so LCD was perfectly level for viewing. It was easy to install the two TV rails on the back of the TV, I used two of the longer screws included in the ECHOGEAR kit. I am delighted with the functionality and quality of ECHOGEAR so much so as I stated early I am purchasing a second one. That one will be mounted on a normal sheet rock wall in my Study and I am looking forward to easier installation. Even if I would keep the TV close to the wall being able to extend it away from the wall facilitates plugging in all the cables. I think the fact that I am buying a second one for the Study says all you need to know. I am satisfied ECHOGEAR customer. Update, installed my second ECHOGEAR in the Study this past week to the studs in the sheet rock wall. 5Wow, beast of a TV mount If you're familiar with gym equipment maker Rogue Fitness, this TV mount is like one of their pieces of exercise equipment; heavy pieces of metal, with proper welds, bolted together in an over-engineered manner. You'll be surprised at how heavy the package is when it's dropped off. It includes directions written in proper English and some miscellaneous mounting hardware.I found it quite easy to throw this mount on a concrete wall in my garage using tapcon screws, and it is going nowhere. I have complete confidence hanging a huge TV on it. The only real issue I ran into is with the annoying curved back of my Samsung TV, combined with its pointlessly shallow mounting screw housings. This TV has only about a 10 mm window for bolt length, so I needed some 40mm screws (M8-1.25 size) from Home Depot to mount it as the kit doesn't include that length. 35mm is too short to reach the threads, and 50mm is too long to be usable as it bottoms out.Only minor complaint about this mount is that the brackets you use to secure the TV, once mounted, sit over the part of the TV rail where you screw it to the TV. This will prevent you from using about an inch of the rail, and in my case with a 40" TV having the smallest hole pattern, it meant I had to mount the rails slightly higher on the back of the TV than I wanted because there was no way to tighten them down if mounted where I wanted. It wasn't a huge deal, but means the top of the TV rails are at about the top of the TV, and slightly visible from the front since I'm running at an angle. A Samsung TV larger than 40" will not have this issue, or one with a larger screw pattern. 5Poiished look, very well made! I ordered this mount for our new Samsung Q70R 65" TV as this is exactly what I was wanting. The mount is very well designed and has a finished look, smooth rounded edges just makes it clean looking when installed. The other mounts that have the rectangular mounting plates are unappealing especially when it's hanging in the living room and very noticeable. This mount is made for either mason or stud wall installation on 16" centers with a little room to maneuver. Once installed, the full motion arm assembly can be adjusted to the left or right to center on the wall and is very easy to adjust. Installation could not have been easier especially when using the provided install template (less than 20 minutes)! The only snag I ran into was the spacers for the mounting brackets on the TV. The included hardware was great but the bolts were a little too long and the large spacers were to big so I used the spacers that came with the TV and the small spacers that came with the mount. In order to shim it out enough to where the bolts did not bottom out on the panel I added 1 2mm nylon space for each bolt and it was the perfect spacing. The actual mount is an elongated "H" that allowed me to install a 2 gang power bridge in the open area of the mount without it interfering with the arm when placed flush to the wall. The kit I used was the Arlington TVBR2505K Flat Panel TV Cable Organizer 2-Gang Kit with Recessed Power Solution purchased on Amazon as well. All said and done this is a great mount, well designed and handles the weight of the TV as it should without and sagging and the movement is very smooth and easy to adjust. I'm glad I found these guys, overall 100% satisfied! The pictures show the mount and TV with the power bridge...don't be at ke down on the cabling as I am not done yet, I am waiting on a delivery from Amazon today that has 4-4' Echogear 2.1 HDMI cables and 1-15' Echogear 2.1 HDMI cable to finish out the installation! 5
