Customer Reviews

Best hard-wired adapter I have used I recently bought a new(er) car that has BT for calling but I wanted to add audio support.I have been on a mission to find a high quality adapter that has good sound, is easy to use, and doesn't suffer from any electrical noise.I don't know what has happened to the BT adapter market in the past year or so, but I have tried many different adapters and every one of them suffers from some kind of design problem. Usually it is audio prompts which are not attenuated internally, so they play at MAX volume through your stereo giving you a heart attack every time they connect. It's especially disconcerting when the prompt is a recording of a woman with an unintelligible Asian accent. Other problems include electrical noise, poor quality audio, or connection dropouts.Eventually I started looking for hard-wired adapters because I didn't want to take up a USB port or 12v socket in my car. I have tried a couple of different ones, and thought this is meant for Marine use with the manufacturer's own equipment, it is a basic BT adapter that will work with anything.I am really impressed. After all the garbage I have had to sift through to find a quality adapter, I am glad to have finally found one.Pros:* Excellent audio quality. Keep in mind that we are talking Bluetooth V3.0 here, so don't expect miracles, but I didn't find anything that bothered my ears.* Audio prompts are simple beeps, which are informative, not distracting, and are not overly loud.* Device seems to include a ground loop isolation circuit as it did not suffer from electrical hum like the previous device I was using.Cons:* Audio may be *slightly* too loud in some applications. I find that I have to back off my phone volume by one notch from max in order to prevent distortion in the input of my OEM head unit.* Auto reconnect does not work. Other reviewers have stated the opposite, and unless there has been a firmware revision, this is completely false. The device I purchased does not attempt reconnect after a power cycle. I have essentially solved this with an app, but if the MFG is listening, fix this in the next release and formally advertise it as a feature. 4Great product Great product at a great price. Although, you will need to have your phone accessible in order to change tracks. You will need to install a phone holder on your handlebars. Some feedback to the company - it would be great if this product came with a remote control that can be install outside of the faring or on the handlebars for better use. 4Works great! I've installed these on several different boats and they all work great. There's no need for a traditional head unit any more, all your music is on your phone, and who wants to listen to the radio? This makes a super clean install and it's simple for anyone who is bitching about the music to connect their phone and play their own s***ty music.I only wish I could change the bluetooth name. It's hard coded as "Fusion MS-BT100". I'd like to personalize it to the name of the boat it's installed on. I would also like a way to disable the "connect" noise, or at least lower the volume of it.If you do install it in a boat, keep in mind that fiberglass isn't too friendly to bluetooth signals. Try to place the receiver close to where you'll be using it. 5Excellent product - easy install This is an excellent product as most of the reviews state. I crawled under them helm of my pontoon boat, found the 12V and ground coming off the panel, wired it up, plugged in the red/white RCA jacks to my Aux In and that's it - done in 10 minutes. My iPhone found the device no problem. The range is fine, my boat is 24' long and it worked from end to end. And No, it doesn't have to be a Fusion receiver - I have a Sony. What I didn't see in the product description is that it also has adhesive tape on the back. Peel and stick it where ever you'd like instead of having to use the screw mount.(screw is not included) Now I need to upgrade my speakers. lol 5I put this in my car and i love it. Works without hassle with th my iphone ... I put this in my car and i love it. Works without hassle with th my iphone 7. I wish my $100+ Boss bluetooth amp in my ither car connected as easily and trouble free as this fusion does. I did have to splice the wires for my application, but I knew that going in. This puts out line-level power, so I ran it in where my sat radio went into the head unit, and its amplified from there. 5Works for a while. Drops connection. I had high hopes for this little unit. It does work; just not for very long. It drops the bluetooth connection with my iphone after a while... not just my iphone, but my friends' too. I find that if I put the phone next to the device it'll hold the connection for longer, but most of the time it lasts five minutes and then it's gone. Maybe I got a dodgy unit. 2Way better than having wires all over the place I own a 2014 Nissan Titan that has only PHONE BT ability on the radio..... Insane for this day and age. I tried the USB dongle and it always dropped/skipped BT reception. I tried the long 3.5mm wire from the input (front of the radio) to the phone in the "cubby". Even tried the cd mount for the phone and a smaller wire... Just could not get used any of these options. Read about figured let me try. Installed it in the dash and ran the RCA connectors to a 3.5mm adapter. Then I have a flat 3.5mm wire running behind the molding to the input. Very clean run for what it is. So far... SUCCESS!!! The only drawback is if you have more than one BT device on your phone list, you have to manually connect to the dongle ( reason for the 4 star ). Oh well..... At least it is cleanly installed now. 4Great item at a great price, but is very basic. Cannot control your phone from your head unit. It works to pair my fusion marine stereo to my phone for music player, spotify, etc... But since this is made by Fusion, for Fusion and I am using it with a compatible Fusion head unit, why in the world can't I control the music (skip etc...) from the head unit? My car stereo does this. It also disconnects any time the power is turned off and does not pair up until I go into my phone' settings and pair it again. It would be nice if it paired automatically.Fusion seems years behind in technology... but the quality is spot on. I bet it lasts forever even in a marine environment.UPDATE: still going strong after 2 years. To be clear:1. If you have any other device paired with your iPhone, this unit will not pair automatically and you will have to go into your phone setting to pair it each time.2. You cannot skip tracks, go forward, or reverse from the head unit or wired controls using this dongle. It only receives and plays whatever your phone is playing. Any forwarding or skipping tracks etc... must be done from your phone.3. Apple Watch will control your iPhone (volume, track skipping, etc...) from your wrist. My best remote yet. 5Easy to install, works great. Easy pairing, great range (if you locate it in the right spot). I installed this on our IP-600 Fusion boat stereo. It was easy, just get under the dash and locate the right wires (switched power, ground) and plug the RCA L/R jacks into the stereo plugs, and you're off and running. It turns on and off with the stereo if you follow their install instructions. We immediately paired it with both iPhones in less than 10 seconds, and we were able to maintain connection to it (dashboard of the boat) while we were floating in the water 30-40 feet away with our iPhones and drinks in hand. Never had to get back in the boat to change music selection.Highly recommended... 5There is no more stereo in my car's dash waiting for a thief to take it. No need a stereo, just your cell phone or any device with Bluetooth capabilities. I connected mine directly to a hidden amplifier in my car, set my cell and start listening to music, There is no more stereo in my car's dash waiting for a thief to take it. 5
