Customer Reviews

Nice triggerNice product. Have been able to do some cool shots with it,5Could Not Be Happier with this Remote!I heavily researched remote triggers before pulling the trigger on this remote. I debated between the MIOPS and the Pluto. My thinking was for the $100 less for the Pluto I could get the water vslve for an extra $40, the cable I needed for the trigger to the camera (it is NOT included so order with your Pluto) and still come out less, plus you get a laser. Speaking of laser, mine was not charged when I got it. Could not get it to work. So I contacted Pluto and through a series of messages it happened to be a defective usb wall charger, not the csble. They were willing to replace the laser or the cable, I had plenty of wall chargers, I was just hsppy with the customer service and how they walked me through troubleshooting it. The app is straight forward and fun. There is a learning curve and the instructions and manual are minimal, the only knock I have against this. But there are some tutorials out there to step you through the basics. However, it will work right away as a remote release trigger. If you are questioning whether to get this, get it! You will not be disappointed!5Fantastic Results!I just purchased the Pluto Valve and Pluto Trigger and set it up for the first time today. I am amazed with the result! The repeatability of the drops is dead on. No complaints on the performance at all. I used plain water to start and then added blue food coloring. Also played around with different backgrounds, drop size and 2nd drop delay. The combinations are only limited to your imagination. As far as the design of the unit, I would like to see the circuit board in a sealed plastic box.For the trigger, the cable to connect the flash to the trigger is way too short. I haven't tested any other features on trigger yet.5No documentation, no battery, nothing anywhere. EDITED.Review is for the Pluto Water Valve -This initial review is based upon unpacking. The unit got to me in one piece, unbroken. There are however, ZERO instructions and the battery shown as if it comes with it was not there. Nor is there anything telling me what size type and voltage battery is required.thankfully inward watching a video and heard the battery type.BATTERY IS AN A23, OR 23A DEPENDING ON THE MANUFACTURERSo far, absolutely useless as it comes out of the box. Confident this will change quickly, but so far, no good.Edited on Day 3 - oK, I was right, this has changed considerably. Still needs some instructions, precautions, tips, etc. That said, once figured out, it operates perfectly. There is a set of instructions on the Amazon page, not 100% correct, but between them and a YouTube video or two it isn't impossible to figure out, Once it is set up, it works pretty flawlessly. One huge drawback, and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars - the exposed control board, battery and switch. It looks horrendous and did they forget this is a WATER valve. It is going to be used in a wet environment. Put a cover on it!Another drawback- storage, with the pipette sticking out the bottom, and the tube being made a glass, a padded fitted case would be a very nice option. All told though, it works perfectly. Attached are 3 of the first batch of water drop photos I got on day 2 of trials. I ended up with 102 keepers. Editing will be fun, as will playing with different liquids and colors...4Ruined my cameraI have a Nikon D5200. I ordered the Pluto Trigger with the right trigger cord for my Nixon. First when I opened the box I noticed that it was not put into the box like the video of opening the box. The next thing I noticed there was no charger. I guess I could live with that so I mounted the device per the instructions via video and instruction manual. The green light flashed three times to indicate it was working. Except that it didn't work. I tried all the different settings and nothing. I took it off and was going to return it. I then tried turning on my camera without it and NOTHING, IT WONT TURN ON. I tried all modes, replaced the battery, tried a different lens and still NOTHING. So now I have to take my camera in, and pay money to find out what this device did to it. I am so pissed off I feel like suing the bastards who sold me this pieced of crap.1Amazing ProductThe pluto Trigger is a great product. Most of the features work without a hitch. I am finding that the remote trigger feature doesn't always fire, maybe because of the motion sensor isn't being triggered I am not quite sure. It is a lot easier to read than the traditional triggers because it is on your phone and it comes with many options for you to trigger your camera. the sound trigger hasn't worked for me as yet, but I think the room has to be quieter for that to work. My only complaint is that timer trigger a little research should tell me what I am doing wrong with the self timer trigger3Works well wish the instructions were more clear. Also ...Works well wish the instructions were more clear. Also make sure if you order this that you get the right cables this device fits 2.5mm cables not 3.5.4Battery life drops off with cool temperatures which is not desirable when shooting star trails ...Been using this device mostly for shooting star trail photography. Battery life drops off with cool temperatures which is not desirable when shooting star trails because 2 to 4 hours of continuous uninterrupted shooting is required. Also, the trigger doesn t seem to work if I plug in an external battery vis the small USB plug to extend battery charge. In other words the device can t operate and charge at the same time. So if the evening is warm, maybe 3.5 to 4 hours of run time, but evening are not warm so run time is in the 2 to 3 hour range. Cool temps being in the low 40s to low 50s.4I wish the instructions were half as good as the product itselfI wish the instructions were half as good as the product itself. There really isn't much good info on how to set the sensitivity or threshold. But with a lot of trial and error, you'll figure it out. Still worth every penny.4Don't buy this if you expect it to work.Unbeknownst to most, the device may work perfectly but the app is hit or miss with Android OS as to whether or not it will even start.I'm on an up to date Google Pixel 2 and cannot get the app started without an immediate crash.Working this through, the developers have a beta version of the app available, which also seems to be hit or miss as to availability - so far I cannot access it.This beta has evidently been available and this a known issue since September 2017. So many questions and no answers...This product is not labeled as in development and that it is for sale on Amazon is at this point in time, unethical.1
