Customer Reviews

I didn't know that this T-mount is a lighter weight ... I didn't know that this T-mount is a lighter weight version of the 2x barlow in the celestron astromaster kit without the 2x lens. The lens can be removed from the barlow, so now I have 2 T-mounts. This one seems to be aluminum where the kit barlow is steel. Both are threaded at the bottom for filters or the 2x lens and at the top for a camera T-ring. 4Nice adapter, for what it is. Threads are good. Barrel is good and has that recess that's nice to use. Black inside. Using this with a 2lb DSLR camera caused some collimation issues as there was sag in the light train from the slip in connection when used in an SCT visual back without a right angle adapter. Using the star diagonal I was able to sit comfortably and operate the camera. I'm likely going to opt for the closer fit of a camera back once I get the tethering issues worked out with my Pentax k50 but this will do for now. 5the worst that could happen is that you have to send ... I have to say, I was very nervous when I made the decision to go with the Celestron adapter instead of the Orion one. Why would there be such a huge price difference (close to 40 dollars) if the Celestron fit the Orion telescope. However I figured, hey! give it a try and see if it works, the worst that could happen is that you have to send it back.I am so incredibly happy with this purchase! Works great, easily fits onto the adapter for my Canon. I cant wait for the skys to clear and I can truly use it!! 5Good guilty build Good guilty build, and works perfect for any T-Ring adapter I'd imagine. Great for my DSLR(Canon Rebel T6). The eyepiece threads are great, if you have some cheaper eyepieces out can screw the peep hole right on to this to change the magnification for astrophotography, or screen viewing through your dslr or other camera. I've taken a few photos, mars, saturn, and jupiter with my 3.2mm eyepiece objective threaded iight into the hardware your looking at buying here. 5It should now look like screenshot 3 Here's the missing instruction guide (with pictures):1) First, we need to dismantle your Celestron lens. Start by gently taking off the rubber eyepiece (see 1st 2 screenshots)2) Unscrew the shiny metal tube on the bottom of your lens. It should now look like screenshot 3.3) Unscrew the plastic black tube from eyepiece. The eyepiece should be facing down as you unscrew it because otherwise the lenses will fall out. It should now look like screenshot 4.4) Now, get out your T-adapter. Unscrew the shiny metal tube from the top. It should now look like screenshot 5.5) Take the telescope lens from step #3 and insert into the T-adapter. Make sure the screw from the T-adapter is facing up and the lens is facing down. See screenshot 6.6) Take the shiny metal tube from step 4. Insert down the T-adapter. Hold it place with the screw from the T-adapter.It should now look like screenshot 7.7) Flip the T-adapter upside down. Screw in the shiny metal tube from step 2. It should now look like screenshot 8.8) Take your T-ring and screw into the bottom of the T-adapter. Next to the screw. It should now look like screenshot 9.9) Take your T-ring + T-adapter and gentle attach it your camera. It should now look like screenshot 10.10) Now you can attach to your telescope like a normal lens! 4Works great I purchased this along with a Fotodiox T/T2 Lens to Canon EOS adapter and it all fit together perfectly. I've managed to get some really interesting shots with the extremely long focal length of my Celestron Astromaster 70.It comes with a spot for putting your telescope lenses in-between the scope and camera (where the little screw is in the photo) but that doesn't seem to work at all. Just screw this onto your T/T2 to EOS (or whatever type of camera you have) adapter, snap it onto your camera, remove the elbow from the back of your telescope and slide this whole assembly right in. Basically picture having the scope on the end of your camera like an enormous lens, that's how it's supposed to go together. 5Fit's my new Celestron 6SE This T-Adapter should work fine once I get a new camera with the appropriate T-Ring. You need this T-Mount to connect the telescope to the T-Ring which then connects to the camera. Unfortunately for me, the T-Ring I got two years ago for my Samsung NX-500 turned out to not be the correct one for that camera and since those cameras are no longer manufactured, I can't find anyone selling the T-Rng I need. I should have checked the fit back then, but the T-Ring said T-NEX on it so I thought it was for my NX. Now I think the T-NEX means it was for a Nikon, but that's just a guess. 5Is it what you want? You really need to research if this is what you want. It is a good quality piece, but I found , as did others that this only works for prime focus work. You cannot put a eyepiece inside it like you might want to do for many other types of photography. Celestron does not furnish any instructions. If it is what you want, it is a five star piece, if not, zero. 2Beware - Works with Some Newtonian Reflector Telescopes but not Others ! Fits some Celestron Newtonian reflectors but not others. Attached it to a Canon EOS T3 and then to the Celestron 127EQ and it focuses fine (even though my EQ127 EQ is not that sharp after a year of endless fiddling with collimation). Then connected the same camera & adapter to the very sharp Celestron 114EQ and it would only focus with a Barlow (a Celestron Omni 2x Barlow eyepiece screwd into the T-adapter base, to be precise). Same story with the very sharp Celestron 80AZ, that one needs a Barlow too to achieve prime focus. Disappointing result, since with the Barlow the field of view for me is too narrow, and the luminosity too weak for nebulae and galaxies. 4Mounting a Nikon on a Celestron telescope. It fits correctly and gets the job done. You may need other adapters to work with your camera. For my setup, my Nikons have F-mounts, so I also need a F-mount to T-mount adapter. Then you have to readjust the telescope for balance with the camera hanging off it.The adapters aren't very expensive, so you're not making a huge investment, and they're nice to have around. If your camera will allow it, have it leave the mirror up. If your telescope isn't on a very solid mount, the mirror flipping will make the photo blurry. Also, touching the shutter button will do the same.I attached it to my laptop, so I could use that as my viewfinder, and trigger it remotely. That gave me very respectable results. 5
